Repede
The Overseer

Repede caught the gold pouch in his mouth. After a quick nod to the boy, a portal opening behind him as he did, "I'll be back in a sec. York, don't let any unnecasary fighting happen untill this girl atleast gets some food in her gut." With that, Repede turned and walked through the portal.

York scratched the back of his head, he could guess what Repede was talking about. As Repede dissappeared, he imaged an ice wall seperating the ever approaching thugs from them, it wouldn't hold them for to long, but long enough for the girl to mow down whatever Repede brings back...

About a minute or two later, a portal opened, and out stepped Repede. In his jaw hung a bag containing a rather large hamburger and a bushel of bananas. Around his neck was a small bottle of water, "I decided to go to a locale grill, the hamburger and bananas were cheap, probably only a fourth of the gold I had, and they threw in this water on the house. They were rather nice people, I guess only more of a reason to save this world..." Repede sat the food down by the girl, letting the hamburger rest close to her nose. Hungry people, no matter how unconcious, could smell food... As this was all happening, large chips were appearing in the small ice wall, it wouldn't hold for much longer, it was just something to buy a few moments after all...

Acresius was about to smile and toss the talking wolf a bag of his own gold when yet another combatant appeared, who gave up his own bag for the food. The red haired girl was frail due to lack of nourishment and Acresius would gladly have donated. Anyone who fought that well while weak was worthy of saving.

It wasn't long before an ice wall protected the girl along with the other combatants. The thugs reached it quite swiftly, which was odd. A mob of that size shouldn't be as coordinated as it was. Acresius sighed and shrugged. The ice wall wouldn't hold up for very long. The wolf might be able to protect the girl, but that left only two against many. The odds weren't very even. God's hated uneven odds as much as men. It took maybe another moment of dawdling before Acresius decided to join in the fight.

Acresius' feet moved faster than a man, which would make him a blur to most human eyes as he ran quickly down the the stairs of the arena three at a time. It was only a matter of moments before he was down on the fighting plane. "Have at thee you foul excuses for humans!" This time when his voice rang through the arena it was louder, more commanding and laced with anger. Acresius' blade slid silently, quickly and fluidly out of its sheath. His smile grew large showing his perfect teeth and his eyes seemed to brighten after the words were spoken. Perhaps he wouldn't even use his powers this fight.

In the stands were two inconspicuous spectators, both young men in typical street garb. The only common feature was they both had green leather blazers. They had watched the events proceeding casually, as if entirely disinterested in the fights. Stadium security had been loosened to let the gang of thugs through, they were needed material for Retrieval Plan D.

"So we're doing this the hard way?" One said.

"Exactly, failure is no option this time," the other said, "She's been weakened enough, we need to start now before those good Samaritans bring up her strength. I'm going to release the leech."

The man opened a duffel bag filled with papers and dug in until he pulled a small black box the size of an engagement ring case out. It had a combination lock on the front, he pressed his thumb into the top of the box for a fingerprint and genetic scan, then entered the code: RED CORE.

The box opened, revealing a clear glass egg, inside was something that resembled a fly. It looked weak, but it was straining to get free. The man popped open the egg like it was prize from the vending machine. The fly flew directly upwards before it homed in on its target. It's exo-skeleton took on bullet hardness as shot through the protective casing and hit the woman inside, burrowing into the mark on her thigh.

"We have entry," the first man said, "Now we wait and see."

Adaire's eyes opened as she quickly came to and got to her knees. The pain was unbearable, there was burning, flowing, darkness circulating through the spiral scar in her hip. She grabbed her stomach, her eyes glowing red, blood running from her mouth and dripping on the ground around her.

You've betrayed everyone, you've hurt everyone, or you've in some way injured everyone you've come in contact with. You're a nuisance, a head ache, an evil. You think you're so different from me. You're the same, you're nothing without me. Just think of all the people you harmed, and for what, to survive. You are truly pathetic.

"Shut up!" Adaire screamed, "Shut the hell up, you're dead, you don't exist anymore. You screwed up and died!"

I always have a backup plan, and you're the first part of it.

"Get out of my head!"

A dark aura exploded around Adaire, shattering the ice wall meant to protect her. The scar on her hip burned through her rags, shimmering with a bright violet haze. Those in the stadium would feel the ground shaken by a tremor. The sewers exploded, the filth of the City of Broken hopes taking the form of a black mist that poured forth from blown sewer coverings and grates. The mist centered over Adaire, condensing into a ball above her head. As they watched, an aura of crimson would begin to pour forth violently from every pore of Adaire's skin, her skin opened, minor cuts across her arms, her legs, and her neck releasing her blood to the dusty floor of the stadium.

The crimson aura swirled into the cloud above her, a tremendous release of energy outwards preventing interference with the transference. In fact, it would have been wise to seek cover instead of being blown back by the explosive winds.

The transference completed, the oval cloud congealed into a viscous solid. Hardened legs sprouted from the form, crashing into the stadium floor, supporting the massive beast as a dark crimson eye grew along the frontage. There was a deep groan that shook the air as the eye moved across the body, scanning the creature's surroundings.

It was big, dominating the combat area of the stadium. In total height it was thirty feet high, the body alone was twenty feet long, fifteen feet wide, and fifteen feet deep. Eight legs had sprouted from both sides of the creature, giving it the appearance of giant black insect. Only this creature had no hard shell, it's body appeared viscous and moist. Violet swirls appeared at occasion along the surface, indicating possible toxins. Yet it's legs were like thick steel blades, when they crashed down they pierced the ground.

Underneath this imposing monster, lay Adaire, her body pale and motionless, her rags bloodied.

You know what to do.....

Repede
The Overseer

York watched helplessley as the girl went through the process that would bring the beast forth, he knew thier was nothing he could do, but that didn't make it any easier. As the waves of energy seemed to die down, and a giant eight legged b*****d stood in front of him, he noticed the girl beneath it. She was limp and injured, but breathing. A grin appeared across Yorks face, "Finally, some action! Repede!" York shouted, not looking back to the wolf.

Repede nodded, "Got it!" With that, a portal opened beneath the unconcious woman, teleporting her to the top of the stands, a decent distance from where the fighting would take place, and for good measure, Repede also teleported the food and water he had bought to the girl, whether she had an appetite when she woke or not, she needed to eat. "Now now York, excited or not, this is the first boss so to speak, no need to show all your tricks right now. Besides..." Repede pulled the knife out of its holster, holding it with his fangs, "I want to have some fun to!"

York let out a loud laugh, "Come on! Do you really think I want to end things that quickly!?" York allowed two katanas to form in his hands, each of the blades were laced with a steady stream of liquid nitrogen. York had faught many creatures in the past that held a plasmus form such as this spider, the easiest way to kill them was to either melt them, or freeze them. On top of that, he knew that the plasmus couldn't maintain itself without a core, he only had to figure out where that core is... "Well then!" York spoke aloud so everyone on the grounds that hadn't already fleen would hear him, "Our goal here is to destroy its core, now then, lets do this!" York shouted, prepared to charge in.

"Oh s**t! It's a ******** demon!!! Demon!!! I'm to pretty to die!!! I have so much to live for!!! WHY, WHY CRUEL GODS HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME, OH WHY HAVE YOU REINCARNATED MY WIFE!!!" The thugs were in a state of hysteria, all pushing and shoving to escape, pools of brown material and yellow liquid left in thier wake.

The owl that was still resting on K's shoulder opened his eyes. It looked shocked for a moment; even though he was still fairly young. And immediately, the bird took off and disappeared into the distance at a slow pace.
K' knew better than this. He knew why his pet had fled and what was probably about to happen.

Just as he was about to go back and check on the situation, K' felt the ground rumble. He wasn't expecting this and he almost fell back if it wasn't because he grabbed on to a wall at the very last minute. The tremor stopped for a minute and this allowed him to regain his balance and try to assert the situation.

"Smart kid. Looking for a good hiding spot." K' said to himself as he looked into the distance, precisely at the same place his pet had disappeared into. He would be back when this is over, he figured.

K' was there for the tournament, but he knew brawls were bound to occur outside the main event. Could the cause of the tremor be those stranger who were fighting back there? Or maybe it was a new challenger. Either way, this was worth seeing. And if it wasn't a competitor, at least he would be able to find out the cause of all this rucks.

So K' double-turned back and walked at a fast pace to where he thought the source of the ruckus came from. Even if he wasn't sure exactly where the small earthquake originated, he didn't have a hard time spotting something new; something that wasn't there when he first walked through. A giant spider-like creature who now stood above a woman, who not surprisingly, was unconscious. He could also see another man and was he guessed was his pet already at the scene. So K' approached slowly, but with a careless attitude. Surely he wasn't one to judge a book by its cover, so he wouldn't attack unless he was given a reason.

Without nothing else to do at the moment, K' stopped at a safe distance between the creature and himself. However, his posture was tense. In case this creature decided to attack him, he wouldn't be caught off guard this time. Some thuggish-looking men ran past him, ignoring him completely. They were obviously more interested in saving themselves.

Acresius had drawn the attention of a few, but before the thugs could even cover the distance between them the ice wall simply exploded. Acresius extended his left fist and smashed a piece of the wall headed his way. When the winds started to blow he was able to hold his ground. Acresius faced the transformation with eyes wide with excitement, the smile that had seemed small when the thugs had approached was now burst wide open with a grin of pure pleasure.

A voice reached his ears before the thugs regained their conscious thought and fled for their lives. Acresius nodded at the boy and the wolf before mumbling an angry comment back at the thugs. "It's not my gods who have forsaken you. That means I can stop it." He continued to mumble to himself.

Whatever this thing was, it was sewage. Acresius had morphed dirty water to clean, but this thing was now a poisonous fog. His control over the water in the air took far too much effort. He wouldn't use it until necessary. The burst pipes still had water pouring through it and the smile returned to his face. He reached out to the sewage water and dragged it his hands from it towards the beast in a quick motion. The sewage water and everything with in it followed his command and flung from its slowly leaking position at the fog monster only a little slower than his hand motion. Acresius didn't know how effective it would be, but it was a start.

Red was pulled to safety just in time. The automated barrier system activated to protect the crowd, while the battle area of the stadium shut itself up. The wide entries sealed by thick steel doors. The force barrier would also serve to prevent escape from the battle arena. The agents had arranged it so that escape would not be easy for the monster, those trapped inside with it where not even a mere afterthought. At the very least, it would keep the innocent of the stadium city protected. Anyone who was inside was inside unless they forced their way through, same for anyone outside.

The monster had scanned the area with its roving eye blood crimson, all in the stadium were identified, as food. It had no other purpose but to kill and to feed. And having scanned the area, it formed tendrils that grew from it's back, their tips traveling nearly forty miles an hour. There was at least one tendril for everyone who wasn't behind the protective barrier.

Every last one of the thugs would find themselves caught by a sticky substance lining the end of each tendril. As black and purple ooze ate away at their bodies they were pulled into the main body of the beasts. Some of their forms bulged out, fighting to escape dissolution, digestion. But it was over rather quickly for them.

Every combatant would find themselves in the same situation if they were not careful. Not just the first attack, this thing was sprouting tendrils nearly a hundred at a time. It wanted to feast, and now that it had narrowed down the pickings it would go after the tougher meat.

While this was happening, the monster was being fed raw sewage, sucking in the filth and disease that formed its slimy and watery body that the initial fog had morphed into. The monster grew larger, sprouted fangs of the same material as its legs in the front. Not all the legs needed to be used for support, giving the beast some extra limbs for attack. Acresius's attack was feeding the monster, any material it didn't need, it could simply reject.

In the stands, the two men watched.

"How the hell are we supposed to extract the core?"one asked.

"Core extraction device," said other, "Needs to be weaker first, let these guys handle it, then we'll grab the core. We have back-up, so don't worry."

K' observed as the situation unfolded in front of him. As the sound of the gates closing all around him reached his ears, he finally realized he was now inside the Arena.

"Oooooh, so this is a welcoming party." He said to himself in a tone of realization, "I should have figured. Anything for a good show." K' unsheathed his set of dual swords from his back and spun them once on his palm. The tips of the swords landed roughly on the ground, making a small piercing sound as the metal clashed against the ground.

He could heard people clamoring from their seats, those were safe behind a newfound barrier. The thugs that were running in a frenzy around him were the first ones to be attacked by the beast, who now seemed to be evolving. At least this told K' that the creature would go first after those who appeared to be either weak or scared out of their minds. Needless to say, K' would show neither emotion, even though he wasn't really scared. He had to be expecting something like this anyway.

Tendrils flew past him, capturing the thugs all around him. Soon, the crowd had diminished and only a handful of people, including him, were left standing. Now the tendrils were moving fast towards him. K' got a good grip on his swords and started spinning them both all around his body. More specifically, he would use as a saw to cut away those tendrils that were at his proximity. He was forced to back off a few steps as the creature continued to increase in size. He could see someone else who was attempting to attack the creature. But this monster seemed to be receiving no damage at all.

"Don't waste your energy! It's obviously not working!" K' yelled. He could even go as far as saying that the monster enjoyed that last attack, since it now sported a brand new pair of fangs.
"Whatever you used doesn't work. So don't do it again." K' said in a lower tone of voice. He didn't want to sound too bossy, especially since he still wasn't sure what was the purpose of this battle, "Now let me try something instead." K's sword started glowing with a golden tone as he continued to hack and slack the tendrils around him. He continued doing this for a minute or so until he allowed the blades to clash against the ground, sending a dual fire wave aimed directly at the creature. His fire wasn't ordinary fire; it would be capable of melting through the strongest minerals with ease. So K' figured that since water, or at least something close to that element, didn't work, he'd try the complete opposite, which happened to be his specialty.

"Worst part about being a fallen deity, no one wants to worship you." The disdain in his voice was obvious, though the arrogant undertone seemed to make it purposely so. His tail flickered back and forth as he eagerly awaited something to happen. He had stalked a few people here after hearing warriors congregated in these grounds. And being in his position, warriors were just what he needed. They all looked so powerful, for mere men and mer anyway.
Hobbs could no longer contain himself! The excitement, the thrill, the spilling of blood. It all screamed power to him. Power, such marvelous and wondrous power. And all these young fighters so eagerly tossing themselves around for entertainment purposes, and to prove themselves. " Silly isnt it." he announced rather loud as he gazed down at the combatants from his perch on the wall, his claws holding steadfast. " That people whom when they die they stay dead, seem so eager to fight. I reincarnate after several years and still am not so eager." he scoffed at the arrogance of such an idea, before falling into a mad laughing fit. " Oh well, I suppose not everyone is born into such a sweet bargain." with that he was silent, the gleam of his dragoon armour seeming ever more valorous as he imitated a statue, perching like a gargoyle.

.: Levin Brenton :.
(~The Wing of Hope~)

For the sake of hope...

Levin held his ground, it wasn't even close to the first time he had dealt with a monstrous beast such as this, the same goes for one with a plasma type body, "Seems I showed up just in time..." Levin followed his statement with a series of back flips and springs from barrier, to floor, to wall, and various other locations to put some distance between him and the spider, "Seems like you'll do just fine..." Levin twitched his arm in such a way that the cuff of his sleeve now rested on his wrist, you could now see a red glow surrounding his entire hand, a slight warmth could be felt expelling off of it.

Levin closed his eyes, he could vividly see a large red bird flying around; it was glowing in a red and orange aura, occasionally spitting out puffs of flames from its wings as the forced through the wind, 'I need your help again...' The bird responded to Levin's thoughts by letting out a loud cry as the aura around it intensified greatly, it was coming to their aid. Seconds later the glow on Levin's hand started to shine with a nearly blinding light as he called out and thrust his arm forward, "Phoenix!"

Flames started to burst forth from his hand, that soon began taking shape, they were forming the Phoenix Levin had spoken to in his head. Levin leapt forward into the air and landed on the birds back as it began to take flight. Levin guided the bird with his thoughts, occasionally calling out commands as he tried to find a good point to start his attack from, "There!" The bird took Levin high into the air and soon started on a deep incline at the spider's neck, as the bird got closer it ended its dive with a heavy swing of its wings that sent a wave of fire at the spider's neck, "Good job!" The flames most likely wouldn't kill it, but they would put a nice dent in it, if they made contact.

I will fight on!

Acresius snarled in rage as one of the tentacles grabbed him around the wait, luckily his arms had managed to stay free. He had gotten distracted using his attack and as one of other warriors had called at him all the attack did was strengthen the beast. From his old position the legs had been blocking the points where the creature had been taking in sewage.

The tentacle seemed to draw him towards the large fangs the spider had just created. With a quick motion he managed to cut through the tentacle with ease. Then he saw why, the tentacle seemed to connect mere moments after his blade had severed it. Acresius sighed and made a cut as far up as he could reach, then followed it by four more cuts almost directly in front of it.

The tentacle couldn't connect fast enough and Acresius fell hard to the ground. He rolled the moment he hit the ground in a defensive position, covering his face from the flames his allies were throwing. While he was rolling to safety a thought hit him. Almost all the water around here was sewage. His powers would be useless here.

The life of a gargoyle was boring, lacked excitement and thrill, two things Hobbs could never live without. As such leaving his perch seemed to be the best idea, and he was never one to second guess himself. Hobbs leaped from his perch, tumbling in air dramatically to further show off his elegant Dragoon training before landing gracefully. " Hey Tentacle Boy! Do you need help, or is this being enveloped by an angry tentacle monster some kind of turn of the century dance I missed out on in my slumber?" he yelled, puffing his chest out to further show the masculinity of his armour. Honestly boredom had swallowed all sense of dread he could feel, and this was just an attempt to earn the attention of the people in this grey scale, dead city.

Repede
The Overseer

York easily managed to side step any and all of the tendrils sent his way, slicing each one in half with the two katanas laced with liquid nitrogen he had imaged. The liquid nitrogen froze the tendrils on cantact, not only making them easily slicable, but also permantly removing mass from the creature, assuming it dies before the liquid thaws. As York danced and sliced, he looked over to the man with blue hair, "Hey, Mr. Water Guy! There are two ways to easily kill a plasmus creature, the first is to melt it, the second is to freeze and destroy it. Catch my drift?" York said, figuring the man could also control ice, or atleast freeze water.

Repede easily managed to avoid the clumsy attacks of the tendrils, if you take nothing, and multiply it by one million, it's still nothing after all. No, what Repede was most interested in were the giant fangs that the creature now beared, that would be an oppurtunity for a major attack, now he just had to wait for the creature to bring those things crashing down...

The crimson eye was moving along the body of the beast at a frantic pace. It's feeding tendrils were being cut to ribbons, the abuse from the remaining food supply caused it to pull back as the severed feeding extensions of the beast fell to the ground.

As K was the first to slice, the eye focused on him for a brief moment, registering him as a threat. The tendrils pulled back out of range of his sword and opened up. Raw sewage water sprayed with such a pressure and concentration that the stream could cut through flesh easily if one got within ten meters, otherwise it was still a very forceful stream of water. This yucky water, coming out of the tendrils at such intense pressure, was directed at the warrior with the fire sword.

The spider really had no neck, it was more like a massive black blob with sharp legs and fangs at this point. The phoenix had to be careful as well, if they hit the barrier ceiling they would be slammed back down to the ground rather painfully, but as the ceiling of the stadium was at 100 meters, they'd have some room to maneuver. Most of the tendrils shifted to the back of the beast, sprays of sewage hitting the fire wave. The attack still hit, the smell of burning flesh and garbage filling the stadium.

A vicious howl emanated from the beast, was it a sonic attack meant to bust everyone's eardrums, or a cry of pain. The screeching high pitch leveled lower, to a deep moaning that described the deep anguish built up in the material of the sewers. Tentacles shot into the air against the phoenix, attempting to grab it from below while flanking the sides at the same time. But worse, burning the creature was producing a toxic cloud that was rising is way, smoke filled with methane and sulfuric acid that the creature was producing in its stinky core.

Hobbs would be able to enter through the barrier, but once in, he was confined by its power until the authorities let it down. Which wasn't likely until the giant squishy toxic spider thing stopped killing people.

One bit of good news, the sewage lines underneath the stadium were cut, so the beast was cut off from one big source of material.

Busy with flame attacks, the creature ignored Acresius for the moment, withdrawing its tentacles to fight elsewhere. The battle was wearing on it, it needed a lifeline. It's legs picked up and began slamming down the arena with a quick sprint, slamming into the defensive wall. There was another howl as the creature rolled backwards into the center of the arena, waves of electricity flowing through the plasma body as its legs shifted to lift the oval core. It turned a dull red, the eye moving frantically as another screech shook the arena.

It wanted out, and was now officially pissed.....
