Well I was planning on buying Roots however it's rumored that parts of it have been cut or edited. Most troublesome is that the fact that in these latest edition the word ****** is beeped out. Really? stare Does anyone have this series on DVD and can you confirm any of this. I remember watching this series with my late aunt and I always wanted to get it.

Waaah~? Censored 'Roots'?! rofl That's outrageous! With all the violence in that show, they felt the need to censor the language??

Fill me in: Is 'Roots' just now coming out on DVD for the first time ever or something? Or has it been available for some time? I just find it difficult to believe that they would censor it. neutral (But you did say this was a 'rumor'...)

Hmm I don't know. My aunt had the 10th anniversary edition on VHS. So this might be the first time its been on DVD. I been trying to research here and there but not too many people are talking about what I need to know. I even search around DVD and nothing seems odd. Still though if I'm going to drop some serious cash I need to know if it's uncut or not. Like if they really took away that word then it makes it pointless. It was released in 2007.

Roots has been on DVD for years. My Aunt and mom has it. We use to watch it almost everyday. Dave chappelle made a skit about the dvd collection. The one my aunt had didnt censor anything. It has some behind the scene things and what not. It's good.

I can maybe see roots the next generation doing that. But not the original thing.

I don't think people want to know about the other series. LOL. It did pretty poorly. It's like Ghost Dad Meets Soul Plane bad thus the Black community has deleted it from its collective mind.

Well things got all heated with the N-word. Some of the rappers were saying they were going to go back and re-dubb their old songs and everything. Had me worried for nothin' confused
