South Park recently aired a video last week, their 200th episode, and celebrated by bringing ALL the celebrities they offended.
In the episode, the town is being sued by Tom Cruise and plenty other celebs because of their offensive actions. To keep them from suing, South Park agreed to their demands: Bring Muhammad to them.

The whole hype was that the celebs wanted to steal Muhammd's power of not being offended. The whole problem, however, is that they couldn't show Muhammad.

The two creators were threatened that showing Muhammad in a bear suit, a technique they used to keep from SHOWING Muhammad, had offended an Islamic group and now are being threatened with death.
The whole article to the story can be found HERE.

What do you think?
Was South Park at fault?
Is all of this ridiculous?
Do you not give a damn?

I think the only way you can be offended by south park is if you have never been the butt of one of their jokes. I'd feel left out and unworthy. lol

Pah! I like the "This is not a threat, but a warning part". And the Muslims wonder why other people don't like them or stereotype them.

This is rather rediculous though. South Park has always made fun of everyone. They make fun of Satan for crying out loud. I don't understand why a certain group of people think they are being singled out. I men seriously. Maybe they should watch all 200 shows then realize they are being stupid, to put it bluntly.

Personally, I don't think they were at fault.
Not only did they NOT show Muhammad, they didn't do anything what-so-ever. The point was to show how people get upset over something small, silly, and abstract.
Ironically, this event proves it.

>_< Because clearly these people are representatives of "the Muslims".
That's like saying "It's a wonder the Christians don't like getting a negative image when they keep burning down abortion clinics."

Anyway, I don't think South Park should be surprised. Is it new to anyone that it's controversial to show Muhammad? What makes them think it would be better if they were openly mocking him?

The creators of South Park are geniuses. I mean, they completely wrote the book on free publicity. As long as groups keep getting so offended that it makes the news, South Park will be on the air, because more people will continue to watch to see just how bad they made fun of something.

I myself like South Park, even when it makes fun of something that I hold sacred. It helps me see how absurd overly fanatic behavior, and stubborn closed-mindedness can be. Basically, it's a reminder to me of what I never want to become.

Wow I've seen jesus on south park numerous times seen the boys sing songs about having sex with the lord. Why do we only care when they pick on the Muslims? Why are they that special?

Because the makers have the balls to say what they think, meaning they don't think showing Muhammad makes much sense at all.
That and there was a recent increase in this problem so they thought they should speak on it.

As for the creators, they aren't surprised that much except for the remark on the film maker.

Because I haven't seen serious death threats by priests.

I'm sure fanatical Christians have threatened the writers before but we only bring it up when its the Muslims. Why do they throw a bigger fit, hold rallies and protest and everything else? Do they care more about there religion then the rest of the world? Do they have more fanatics? (and I serioulsy doubt that's the answer by the way) I'm curious to know what the Muslim opinion on the topic would be.

Muslims believe it is a serious offense to show Muhammad so I could see the uproar.
However, threatening with death is quite silly.

and no, no one that was Christian has seriously threatened them with death.
