Even though Randy Rhodes is my favorite metal guitarist I have to say that John Petrucci is a very close second.

Jari Maenpaa (ex-Ensiferum, Wintersun) is an awesome sweep picker and very expressive player. I cant really name the best, but I do love Riku Hopeakoksi (Catamenia), Costas (ex-Rotting Christ), Ihsahn (Emperor), Alexi Laiho (Children Of Bodom) .. bah, many many more.

Ever thought of Necrophagist's guitarists, they are awesome, and fast!
I wonder why people give more attention to guitarists than bassists.

NickysBad Ever thought of Necrophagist's guitarists, they are awesome, and fast! I wonder why people give more attention to guitarists than bassists. It's a shame wink I play guitar, so it's only natural to admire and pay attention to guitars more than anything else wink I think more people need to play bass and especially drums. It's so hard to find a good lot of people to choose from when putting together a band around here.
