(Any one can join, you can have whatever characters you want, just stay with them and keep the game going until the end, if you need to get out before the end, we can work something out. I'd like you to put the information on your character in the 'Characters, and Profiles, etc.' under 'RPG Characters etc' Just because the way I'm used to playing, I might play more than one character to keep it going :: Edit :: And remember to keep to the rules, no god modding etc, this is like a story, I'd prefer for people not to die, but some times it happens. Play nice, and keep it clean!! Please don't swear, if you must have your character spout expellatives, please just say that they do so, there is no need to put swear words in what they say. Any thing that doesn't work with me, I will PM you, and ask for you to change it, if you don't and it is something that is big, I will request that it be deleted by one of the crew. )
Mercy looked around the crouded tavern and sighed. She hated relying on others to help her, she'd been indipendent almost since she was 5. Unpleasent memories of her parents death floated up to the surface, to be pushed down forcably in her mind. She needed to focus on the task at hand. She sat down at the counter, and turned to face the rest of the room, watching the people come and go. There were no racial boundaries here, drow mixed with light elf, naga, and halfling, they all had the same purpose, to higher out their skills for money, whether they be assassins, or mages. Being an assassin herself, Mercy was able to pick them out, and determine how good they were. Just to not draw attention, she ordered a drink, water. She needed a clear head while in this place. She leaned against the counter, hand resting lightly on the dagger hilt attached to her belt, and sipped her drink, continueing to observe, and trying to pick out one that would be able to get the job done.

The wind and cold had finally joined forces in the attempt to defeat one rather large target. Yet the giant stood tall, his arms folded firmly around his chest, his feet marching in large, consistent steps. He shivered slightly, but still held a weak smile on purple lips. He would win war this year with Winter. For he had just recently found a haven, a warm place he could declare sanctuary, And maybe drink some tea.. Willow rearranged the small scrap of blanket that draped pitifully over his lanky shoulders. He stamped his feet and shook straggled hair from his face. All the while staring hopefully at the inn down the path. "I do hope they have tea there.." He whispered, feeling rather weary from his latest travels.

(is he like one of the modern Giants? 8-10 feet tall about?) Mercy's eyes widened slightly as she saw the giant apear through the doorway. She'd seen one before, but it had been a long time. She schooled her features and watched him, concidering. Hearing the muttered comment, she turned to the bartender and whispered something, then turned back to the giant, "Would you join me for a cup of tea?" she inquired. She kept on the aleart for others, but she wanted to know more about this giant, and giants in general.

"Ah, you read my mind, wee one. Yes...tea is good for the health and spirit." His voice rumbled with a low and deep quality of some large fragile thing. "Does this town like their tea? I have never been in these parts before, and am curious why a stranger albiet kind, would offer me such hospitality." A large pale hand reached for one of the bar stools and pulled it well away from the counter area. "Oh dear, I'm afraid everything in this world has shrunk a little bit." He chuckled as he lowered down to fill the moaning stool's fate. Grinning he leaned over to the counter and rested bony elbows on the wood. His movements had been slow and measured. A giant of his size could not simply jump into a seat or collapse on a bar. At least not those made by wee humans. He smiled again and turned his bi-hued eyes to the woman. "Perhaps a stranger of both beauty and hospitality would also be kind enough to spare me her name? Than I will give you mine, and we would no longer be strangers."

Mercy smiled at the giant, a thing she didn't do much, not recently any way. "The reason could be, sir, that I am also a stranger to this land, and saw one of kindred spirit in that aspect." She wanted to know more about this giant before she revealed much about herself. She hesitated not more than a second, then supplied the name that she had gone by almost since her parents death, "Mercy." she said. She turned to the barman, who gave the hot drinks. Mercy turned back and handed one to the Giant and waited for him to supply his own name. Just because she was in a conversation with some one didn't mean that she had to let her guard down to him, or any one else in that room. The last thng she needed was a knife in her back before she was able to get things going.

(Well, I used to imagine him as being 12 feet tall. But I suppose we could cut the size at the knees. 10 feet is fine.)
Willow smiled. It was refreshing to see people so kind these days. Granted, his size could be playing a role on such meticulous manners displayed for his enjoyment, but he was oblivious to this. Size, race...speicies. It meant nothing to him as long as the entity which he spoke to and drank that lovely aromatic water with was intelligent and had a decent and kind personality.
He was completely unaware that those he was currently keeping company with were (for the most part) blood thirsty assasins. (Money thirsty more likely. Assasins bills were never cheap.)
He reached for the tea bowl, and let his large fingers encircle the smooth wood before swallowing it in his large palm. Willow looked down with a hint of dismay at the pitiful servings these humans always served him. Oh well.
The giant looked up while swishing the warm liquid inside the bowl. He smiled at mercy and with a nod, announced himself in the proper matter he was taught: "Greetings Mercy of the humans. I am known as Willow, belonging to the clan of Giants from the East."

Willow sighed happily as the warm liquid sloshed around to the back of his mouth before sliding down and lighting an inviting fire in the pit of his rather large belly. The warmth clung to his insides as he sipped some more. Careful not to drop the bowl and accidently swallow it. He had to pay many expensive bills that way.
The chill that had so viciously attacked him was now but a distant memory smoldering outside in the snow. Only to weakly rekindle for a moment whenever the door was opened. Willow carefully laid the bowl onto the bar before slumping the blanket and small pack off of his broad and lanky shoulders. He grabbed at them and plopped the worn items into his lap before reaching again for his nearly empty tea.

(no, 12 is fine, he could be 40 for all I care, I just wanted to know how tall he is)
Mercy smiled at Willow, "Only half of the humans" She displayed one of her slightly pointed ears, "I'm a half elf." She turned to the bartender and requested another round for the giant, getting more curious about him, "So, Willow, what brings you to these parts?" She inquired, watching him and his reaction to her question carefully out of the corner of her eye. With the rest of her attention she watched those around them, making sure none of them decided they wanted to try their hand at a giant. There weren't many in those parts. It was rumored that there were some near the Red Mountain, but that was some ways off.

A loud crash like the crack of thunder sounded through teh crowded in as Moya Kaie entered from the frozen world outside. She turned her small frame against the reluctnat, creacking wood and tried to close the door but the wind blew her back, wiping the cowl which had conceled her distinctly Elven features from around her face, forcing her to squint her eyes as she tried to force the door to close.

The giant opened his mouth to explain his reason for traveling, but immiediatly shut it and swiveled his head to instinctivly look for the origin of the crash. "Ah! A new visitor it seems! Do you need help with the door? I see the wind has picked up a bit since my arrival only a few ticks beforehand!" He sat up straight, directing his voice towards the small frame fighting with the bulk of wood at the threshold of the inn.

Mercy, along with almost every one else in the tavern, looked at the flailing door. The storm had indeed gotten worse, she may not be able to leave as soon as she had hoped. She was a little dissapointed that she wasn't able to hear the giant's story, but she could be patient when she wanted to be, she would find out sooner or later. She shruged slightly to herself and went to go help the plainly elven woman, not thinking until she had, that in general, full blood elves look down on half elves. They finally got the door closed , with her help and that of the giant, Willow's. Before anything could be said, Mercy went back to her seat. Races of every kind mixed in here, but that didn't mean that some racial tensions weren't liable to pop up, she didn't want to be noticed by those she would rather avoid. A little late for that... she thought to herself.

Moya slouched relivedly against the heavy weather worn wood, "Domo Origato Dia Mustaeo, Master and Mistress" She said softly in her native thounge, Elven, once she had regained the ability to breath. She straightened and brushed the new snow off her travle worn clothinga bit ashamedly. "Forgive my intrusion but may I at least learn the name of the people who aided me so I can give them a proper thanks? If it's anycondulence my name is Moya." She smiled slightly, pulling her cowl up over her features least she be recognised by someone in this unruly crowd.

Mercy was likewise tempted to hide within the confines of her cloak. Many were wearing them, so she wouldn't be out of place... She shook her head. People had already seen her face, and she couldn't hide it now.
She looked over at the Elf, and the Giant, they both seemed somewhat out of place in this tavern, she noticed finally. Perhaps they were just so good at their jobs they were able to take whatever cover they wanted, but more likely, the cold and wind had drove them in, with them not knowing at all what type of place this was.
She sighed and went back over to them, bracing herself for the normal scorn a Full blood elf usually gave to one that was of half blood. Just because she knew the king of the Elves personally, as did her parents, didn't stop persicution(sp) and prejudice.
She put on a good face and stuck out a hand, "I am Mercy."

The giant's head was far too high up for such tension to fly over unnoticed. Yet he still played that silent smile of goodwill. It was rather shocking though. The elfen maiden known as Mercy had been kind from the beginning. He would not have expected those gracious manners, words, and free portions of tea to be anything but sincere. Yet now Willow was having second thoughts..
"Greetings, young Moya of the elven race. I am Willow, hailing from the clan of Giants to the East. Pardon my intrigue, but what had brought you to subject yourself to the lively currents of wind outside?"

Moya shook her hand with a gentle smile she knew the predjudice most half elves felt from full blood, but with her it was diffrent. She reached out a hand towwards the giant named Willow, "Well thank you again master Willow, mistress Mercy, I am in your debt." She paused metting each of their eyes for just a moment, caluculateing, decideing, she lowered her voice " I'm looking for two men have you seen them." she handed two sheets of worm parchment sheets from a pouch at her belt.
