Just saw this in a status on Facebook.
Quote: Shame on you ENGLAND !!!!!! the only country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed without eating, elderly going without needed meds, mentally ill without treatment and british servicemen and women fighting without the best kit - yet we donate £50 million to the people of Haiti ... 99% of people won't have the guts to copy and repost this 1)The only country? 2)WHAT 3)I could be whining about MPs using tax money to buy curtains, but I'd rather complain about much needed aid being given
So... stupid Facebook statuses/ stupid people/ what your cat did today. It's all good.
Edited because I originally wrote "Facebook statues".

99% of people should be smart enough to realize that's a bold faced lie! I mean do I even want to get started on the health care plan in the US, the "greatest" country in the world?!? And my parents both went into mental health, you think insanity guarantees you treatment?! Ha! If you don't have money or insurance it's to the streets with you, where you won't even have the senses to find a shelter anyhow. Unless you commit a violent crime, then they'll take care of ya, for the rest of your ruined life.
Pah! Shame on England my a**!!
At least they aren't spending billions forcibly asserting their dictatorship over a country in the Middle East who didn't want their help in the first place, while their own country - who despite some weird misconceptions - houses millions suffering from the inadequate care for the sick and impoverished as well. That would be truly awful.
Pah! And do we really want to go picking at the rest of the major world powers?! Whose really so deluded as to think that utopia has been established, save for ONE fail source?! This is so ludicrous, I can barely contain my laughter.

That's ******** retarded. As if England is the only country with tons of problems. And as if the people of Haiti are less important than the people of England. Ugh.

Anyone noticed that it's the only country with British servicemen and women blah blah whine.
NO SCOTTISH, WELSH OR NORTHERN IRISH PEOPLE JOIN THE ARMY.
The person whose status it was is now trying to say that she wanted to see if people would be stupid enough to copy it, and she knew it was a no just no post. Except not, because she had no problem agreeing with the dumbshits who were posting "I agree!"
JK: -Hugs- I'm sorry to hear about that. =[ Because from what I've heard of you guys healthcare system, yeeeah, it really doesn't sound good.
Oh but we are. Bugger knows what for. But Blair said "Oops, my bad" when he left, so it's FINE.
My little brother wants to join the army when he's old enough, and we all just responded with "No. No you're not". Luckily (and I never thought I'd see this as a good thing), he has really bad eyesight, so they'd be very unlikely to accept him.
Totally. Everywhere has its problems, and if somewhere doesn't, they're doing a fantastic job of keeping that quiet.
Kitsune: I've no idea why people insist on whining about people less fortunate than themselves, as opposed to the people who are more fortunate and get free s**t out of it. Anyone believe MPs aren't still wasting our tax money on frivolous crap now that the media's forgotten about that? No, but who cares, people are dying, I resent that they get help. >_<

@Morgey - It really really isn't ~_~. And health care and education should really be the highest priorities in a country so that's very disappointing.
Well...we're still there...like hey, if I could find health insurance that costs less than what I make in a year than maybe I could say, alright, let's go "help" other countries...although it should still only be countries that want our help. However, if you can't even take care of yourself, WHY are you getting involved elsewhere?!
How old is your brother now? That bad eyesight thing, makes me think of when my little brother was a little kid. When we'd drive past all the handicap parking spaces and have to park far away, he'd say "those lucky handicap with their special parking." Hahahaha, was cute because he was like 5 and didn't really understand disability. But yea, rarely does anyone say, those lucky disabled ^_~.
Yea, I'm rather enamored with the Swiss actually...but they have their problems too. I don't think anywhere should be a Utopia, but given that, people need to be less narrow in their judgment before making widespread accusations about how "wrong" they are.
And seriously, I mean again while I said you should be helping your own country...I meant before doing things like invading another country against their will under the guise of "aid". I would totally accept my government stepping up to help Haiti, an extremely impoverished country suffering from a horrible tragedy. I definitely do not resent them at all. As crappy as my health care is, and as awful as tuition fees might be, and though I'm probably facing a life of debt and financial agony, I still realize I'm much better off right now.

World = Chessboard. Money > Life. Etc. People suck.
He's only 11, but it's been going on long enough that we could be over there still when he's older (he's not even my youngest sibling >_<). My nan knew someone who was old enough and wanted to sign up, but luckily, health regulations stopped him too.
I know what you mean. There's an enormous difference between genuinely helping and barging in because you can.
I'm sorry, that all sounds sucky. =[

Yea, that's the downside to so many people. If we had fewer people, life > everything. And indeed, many people DO suck, and are taking up space..and health care money. Those, spacer taker uppers!
Are you the oldest? Even if so, that's quite the wide age spread there. My friend is 9 years younger than her closest sibling though I think, however the other 3 are all relatively close in age and she's just that late in life baby alone.
I personally don't know how I feel about public/military/etc etc service anymore. My friend who was a firefighter died over the summer, I've known him since I was about 8 or 9? So since he was about 5 or 6 (he was in scouts with my younger brother all the way through HS, and then our families became friends)? I mean he loved his job, and it's amazing that he could put the lives of others over his friends. But I miss him, and his family is still broken and that crushes me because I love them like family. The idea of letting a loved one enlist or go off and die, honorable cause or not, is just too painful. It's awful to say just let strangers go off and do that, but, I don't want to go to another funeral, at least not anytime soon. And definitely not for someone younger than myself.
Yea...oh well...suck builds character right? o_O

I'm the oldest, yes. And the eleven year old isn't even the youngest. There's an eleven year age gap between me and the youngest.
I'm so sorry. -Hughughug- There really is no answer on that one, because it is brilliant for them to get to do something they love and are passionate about, but what an awful thing to go through. I wish I could say something useful. =[
I think that's how it's supposed to work, but I'm not sure.

Even though me and my brother aren't particularly close, I do I guess prefer to be closer in age to my siblings, hopefully we'll be friends one day...maybe? He was really cool to me while we were dealing with the drama this summer. Anyhow my friend is actually close with her sister, despite the decade age gap, but most of my friends in really wide age gaps aren't "friends" with their siblings (the ones who are a few years apart are though, and I am jealous). I mean even my friend has only gotten to be friendly with her sister in recent years, after 20 or so years, just because of the wide disparity.
Yea, I doubt a useful thing exists. If it did, death probably wouldn't be so hard, but thanks.

I get on best with the younger ones, which says a lot for my maturity. I suppose the big age gap reduces the sibing rivalry thing though.
The world is indeed a rubbish place.

In some ways I guess, though my friend has a really fierce rivalry with her brother whose 6 years younger. She can't grasp that yes he IS 6 years younger and a boy and they just won't be treated the same. She's more than halfway through college, he just started high school. I guess it just depends on personality.

Everyone's personality is different, so I spose it only makes sense for it to differ.
Ah. The sibling I don't get on with is four years younger than me, so I guess I see where she's coming from.

Yea, I mean he's an immature brat, and I can understand her getting irritated and annoyed. In the end though, she's the adult, it's unfortunately up to her to be the mature one. I know, maturity is such a b*tch.
