I'm going to use this post to tell you that this is a real life rp. No magic, no werewolves, no vampires, no nothing. HOWEVER! The time period on this really isn't set but I'd say it's around our own. If you can find a plausible enough idea of a jump in evolution, then maybe it'll slide. If you've watched Elfen Lied or read it, that I could accept probably. But, as with everything, if you have questions about what may be acceptable, don't hesitant to pm me.

~Story~

Imagine yourself at the heart of a city that appears normal enough. But corruption runs deep.....The city is controlled by gangs, all containing different beliefs and ideas, but some greedy in the sense of territory. There are three main gangs that rule this city, a kind of treaty between them. Or so they say. Skirmishes and outright fights are always breaking out, the real government unable to do anything for they are cowardly. Not wanting to risk their hides for the good of their people.

The city is always expanding though, new gangs are always forming. You may pass someone down the street, become friends with them, only to find that they are a mortal enemy. There are two things to remember in this city; Kill or be killed and trust no one...

~Settings~

The city itself is vast, hidden boundry lines of the different territories laid down and spread by word of mouth. At the heart of the city is a large park that is lush with trees of all assortments, nature ruling within this part of the city. This is neutral territory, no fights have broken out here before, nor does anyone plan to start any.

To the east, there are huge mountains that rise into the sky, their peaks snowcapped most likely. There are hiking trails, camping sites, an escape from the hecticness of the city.

To the west there are long plains of tall grass that eventually lead to the ocean. At the beach, there is a cliff overlooking the water, but the water is beautiful and clear. Perfect for a romantic evening.

To the north there is a large forest that seems to hug to the city, keeping it encased from going any further that way. Wild animals live around here, more of a wildlife reserve so no hunting and stuff.

Finally, to the south, there is a river that leads from the park in the heart of the city out to another lake up in the forest to the north. The waters are a little less clear than the ocean, and bodies tend to end up floating in it, someone crossed the line or was getting what they deserved.

Si



Si in Mandarin chinese literally means "Death." Specifically to this culture, the Si would better be considered a tong or clan. Tongs were groups of people that moved and settled in a different part of China I believe. They grew and became territorial and thus like a gang. They don't exactly have a basis for an exact fighting style, but they do mainly use the following:

Staff - Father of all weapons
Broad Sword - Marshall of all weapons
Spear - King of all weapons
Straight Sword - Gentlemen of all weapons

Si are normally quite kind people unless they must deal with a problem, then that side of them vanishes. They train a lot, to keep themselves ready in case of battle, but they also excersize their mind. They can be rather tactical, understanding of certain situations, and more accepting to someone who needs their help. But, they are wary, hidden eyes and ears that work for Yue Si reporting if someone joins the fold. Then, that person is examined everywhere in case that they are a spy from the other two gangs. They expect that someone is going to cross the line with the treaty, hence how they are so precaucious.

Si HQ

The Si live by the mountains in the building above, however instead of having that many floors, there are only about 7. There is a courtyard in the front of it, but that is also behind a wall that leads onto the streets. There are many tree's in the surrounding area, offering some cover for them. The center of the building is open, the floors being more around the edges. There are elevators that lead around, secret passage ways, and of course, stairs.

In the top most floor is a garden that is meant to be peaceful and relaxing. However, there are a couple of gravestones there, belonging to Yue Si's parents. They are only there in symbol, the actual graves are in the mountains.

In the two floors beneath Yue Si's office are basically office space. Business is conducted there. Computers, desks, the whole trip. However, it follows the chinese building style so it doesn't end up looking too modern.

Now on the 5th floor, this is where some of the training rooms begin. Typically, the 5th floor is used for the older groups of people that belong to the Si. There are different rooms for training in different weaponry, the arts, and even cooking.

The 4th floor is similar to the 5th except that members of the Si ranging from ages 15-21 are training there. Obviously, there are always exceptions, thats just a general range. They are learning how to handle weapons, martial arts, the arts, cooking, and maintaining an education. The people of the Si are expected to be at least somewhat intelligent people.

The 3rd floor are for the youngest of the Si. There are classrooms, playrooms, nurseries, and only a couple of rooms reserved for learning how to fight. Thats obviously reserved for those who are old enough to begin training which some would consider to be too early an age.

The 2nd floor is the dinning floor and where the kitchens are. The infirmary is also on this floor, taking up most of the rooms.

The main floor is mostly open space, but the rooms do not go to waste. Some are where people choose to train, some are used to brief people on their jobs, even some are shops that range from clothing to furniture and the like.

Sakura



This Gang is more like a traditional Japanese society. The name itself means Cherry Tree. To the Japanese, the Sakura tree symbolizes something. "Life was considered brief and beautiful, much like a cherry blossom." So, this particular gang has interprated the symbol to them, they want to be something eternal in this city. Basically they want to plant the seed to their Sakura tree and then help it grow so the roots are embedded deep in the ground.

Though Japan and China are apparently mortal enemies, the two gangs in this case obey the treaty quite honorably. The Sakura tend to be a quiet group that are determined and sly. They do have shinobi, but they try to keep their shinobi on a low level so that the other two main gangs don't wipe them out.

Triskelion Knot



The border is formed from Celtic knot work, the most common pattern seen in Celtic art. Celtic knotwork characteristically has no beginning or end, and is entwined into highly complex loops and plats. For this reason, Celtic knotwork may symbolise the infinite complexity of interconnected forces of life, and the Celtic belief that creation has no beginning or end. The circular design of the logo enhances this quality of eternity, and reinforces the idea of a "circle of life." The central design is a Celtic triple spiral, or triskelion (sometimes just called a "triskel"). A triskel is sometimes suggested to represent the Triple Goddess of the three ages of womanhood. It later came to represent the holy trinity in Christianity; God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Whatever its meaning, it is interesting that the motif is based around the number 3 - regarded as a highly auspicious number in many ancient cultures.

Ok, the meaning of the symbol taken care of, the Triskel are a slightly more religious of the three. Think of them as a clan. They are mostly comprised of Celts, a rather fun group nonetheless. When they aren't dealing with protection money thats unpaid, they are either enjoying music, drinking, partying, and just hanging out. But, if you look at them wrong or insult them especially, they will shoot you down in seconds flat. They can be rather hotheads, tending to a fight. Even if you join the folds of this gang, they will still view you with suspicion and distrust a year or two or more later. If you have children then they will be accepted because they were born into the community.

Personality: She is very close with her people, but she almost seems distant half the time. She is friendly and warm, but she can be colder than ice depending. Generally though, she is often found talking with someone, or else teaching the younger children how to handle themselves. She is basically like a mother hen. Just the mother hen of a lot of people. ^_^;;
Bio: Yue Si is the leader of the gang, her father having been killed when she was at a young age. She only uses her real name for official business, everyone knows her as Naomi. Her mother died giving birth to her, leaving her father a little less of the man he was. When she took over after her fathers death, no one questioned her, if anything she gained respect from them since she was only 15 at the time.
Markings: To show what gang she is a part of she wears an earring on her right ear with the character for 'Death'. In her other ear is a sword dangling. She still does bear the tattoo of her people. It's on the side of her neck towards the back.

Personality: A bit misjudging of the world considering her past, but she does have those she trusts. Tending to stay to herself, she is the one who "gets-the-job-done" sort of person. In this way she is known as being rather ruthless at the same time. That isn't to say that she can't be a bright person, it's just not as likely.
Bio: Her parents were something forbidden. Her father was of Sakura, her mother a Si. They had her in secret, but eventually word got out and her mother was killed by another member of Sakura when she was 5. Her father shot himself soon after leaving her alone. She taught herself how to use her fathers old sword, taking his gun too. She still wonders who it was who killed her mother and she does seek revenge.
Markings: On her shoulder is the mark of the Sakura, the tattoo of a cherry blossom.

Bio: Her family was born in the city, thus she is accepted by everyone in her clan. But, when she was nine, her parents were shot by some guy who was drunk and being stupid. Not even involved with the gangs at all. Katy had a sister whom immidiatly joined the ranks, raising Katy. It was shortlived though, her sister became ill and died, leaving Katy rather alone. Sure, the clan then took care of her because thats just how they are, but it wasn't the same. Now she would be close to the upper ranks, and was up for consideration of being Mark's right hand "man" so to speak.

Personality: Witty and cheerful, nothing seems to rattle him. Despite his fun loving personality he can get very serious about his work, and as a result he is ususally considered likeable yet trustworthy by these who meet him.
Bio: James and his mother moved to the city when he was a young boy, his mum needing a fresh start after a nasty divorce from James's father. Setting up a home in the Si territory of the city things went well, James deciding to follow in his mothers footsteps to become a doctor. One time he was working in the emergency rooms when a case came in, having had both legs crished by an upstart small gang leader. Not only did James manage to save the man's legs, but also managed to see to it that he should move normally within a year. The gang member suggested that James consider looking into the gang, as they were looking for good medical staff. Four months later after intense background and information checks James was brought in by Si, a situation James is perfectly happy with, even if his mother isn't. He is now Yue's head of medicine, ensuring their little 'family' is healthy and can get emergency medical attention without bothing government hospitals.
Markings: His clan mark is found just above his left hip. He also has a scar over his left collar bone where a bullet once grazed him.

His one weakness. Coffee. No one is to interrupt or bother him when hes drinking coffee. Its his vice, his relaxation and break all in one.

Stretching, Yue glanced out of her window on the top floor of her home, the view rather breathtaking. Sighing lightly, she was about to get up when someone came in with papers for her, blinking as she listened to the reports. It appeared as if there were some problems with Triskels entering territory and causing some trouble, sighing heavily. "Send an observation team to find out where they strike, when, and also an attack team just to be safe. It's probably some youngsters. Still, I want them to understand their error." She spoke, signing off on a couple of things, calligraphy perfect as always.

Now she rose up, strapping on her many weapons since one could never be too careful, walking out into the open area. Glancing down all the floors, she smiled softly as she saw how everyone seemed so at peace, taking the elevator down to each floor. She spoke with many on the way down, all greeting her. The kids all jostled to see her, yet it was obvious they still exercised respect in terms of how to greet her. When she laughed a little, they all relaxed. It was a nice day, the city relatively quiet as of late. Times of peace were as lovely as times of war, eventually reaching the bottom. She checked on the shops, looking up as her name was called. Laughing, it was just one of the owners who had been close friends with her parents, speaking with him next.

Sayuri narrowed her eyes, jumping down from her perch, landing on top of her target. Though the fall should have been enough to kill him, she still snapped his neck for good measure, checking his pulse. Good. He was dead. Rising up, others appeared and took care of the body, her oddly colored hair blowing in the breeze. Sighing lightly, she checked her equipment, nodding once at a word from her associate. They blended easily into the crowd of another street, making their way back to headquarters.

Always the assassin. Not like she minded, but it seemed like she was sent out often. At least she got paid well. Still would be nice to be able to go out and drink some sake once in a while... Scratching the back of her head, she looked to her companions, finding them rather relaxed, wondering if that was best, but probably a good thing for now.

"The hell do you think your doing? You know what the risks are?" Evian snapped at her friend, cuffing him upside the head. She dodged out of the way of the punch, catching the second that came, kneeing him in the stomach. "You do that again, they'll come for you." The boy was obviously pissed, but knew better than to question her again.

"Won't happen again miss." he mumbled, bowing his head to her, still a little out of breath from her kneeing him.

Her red eyes flashed, spinning on her heel as she had just turned to go. "It better damn well not ya clout. Now go home and mind your brothers an' sisters." She snapped, watching him leave with his little goonies. Shaking her head, she left the building and walked down the street towards HQ, figuring that Mark would be there. She grabbed a coffee on the way, waving with a wide smirk to some that saw her. They yelled to each other a bit and then continued on, soon arriving at her destination.

Heading upstairs, she spoke a little to the receptionist, walking over to the door and giving a slight knock. "Oi Mark? Ya in there?" She called, realizing full well he may be out and about. When she got bored, she usually went to him for orders or at least to talk to if he wasn't busy. Otherwise she'd be at the bars or off doing something stupid.

Talis open the door to find Evian waiting for him. Blood splattered on his hands. A look around the room showed a young Treskelion on his knees bruised badly. "I found out this one was stirring up some trouble with Si, believe me that's the last thing we need around here more conflict." He throws the young one a towel and waves him out the door smiling at him as to say that he wants the boy to go forth and become great.

"I'm sorry once again sir" The boy quickly exits limping slightly.


Reaching on his desk he grabs a Dossier and hands it to Evian "Evi, i know your ready for some work so i got someone i need you to look up on. Someone for me. The names Sayuri Sakura, she's one of the best assassins that Sakura's got, she's extremely deadly and ruthless but I think she might know something about that night."

Talis Walks across the room sits in a big arm chair. " You have your orders now go. And tell the receptionist to bring me a beer will ya. DON'T DIE!" He starts laughing loudly out loud.

Evian blinked and looked at the boy that was there, recognizing him as one of the other boys, sighing lightly. Well, they'll listen now. "Indeed. I gave the leader a what for. It was Damien again." She murmured, walking in so as to allow the boy to leave, glancing around the room. She brushed her bangs from her eyes, knowing they'd go back to being in the way, but they were fine for now.

Once the boy had gone, she couldn't help but chuckle, looking up as she heard him go through his desk. Raising an eyebrow, she looked down at the file, opening it to look through the pictures. Oh that girl. "Oh yeah, I think I've seen her before. I know I've heard about her from some very lucky lumps. They weren't her main target." She murmured, falling still as he mentioned that night.

Closing the file, she nodded once, turning to head towards the door. "Pfft. You know me, I can't die. Dunno how you like that stuff so much." She shrugged and closed the door to his laughter, shaking her head slightly. Looking to the receptionist, she saw the woman sigh, shrugging lightly. "He likes stuff that practically equates to piss." Shrugging her shoulders a bit, she stretched and headed to her house, pausing as she opened the door to her apartment. Well that was her roommate.... and someone else.

Closing the door, she sighed heavily and went to the park in the center of the city instead, finding a quiet bench near the lake to look through the file. Nobody could do anything in this part of town and if they did, well... that was asking for war to happen.

James sat in one of the many consultant rooms in the infirmary, sitting with a sobbing child. She couldn't have been more then twelve, though her facial expression could allow someone to think she was far younger. The source of the little girl's pain was her right forearm, the skin a darkish blue from bruises and swelled to twice what it should be.
"Oooh I don't know Izumi, I might have to take the arm," he explained gravely, his rich hazel eyes looking down on the girl as he examined the arm. Naturally it wasn't anywhere near that bad, but by scaring her a little now she'd learn to be braver, and react in a calmer manner next time she was hurt. Seeing the girls shocked reaction he tutted and rolled his eyes, though he smirked a little to show he wasn't really angry with her.
"Then again...I am a very good Doctor," he added with a wink, promptly beginning to slip her arm into a sleeve that would keep her wrist straight, binding the whole thing with a bandage.
"You've not broken it, don't worry...probably just a bad sprain. Just tell your teachers that you can't use that hand for a few days, come back to me on wednesday and i'll take another look, okay?" as Izumi stopped crying and nodded he smiled and took a lollipop from a jar on his desk. Leading her out the door he gave it to her, chuckling at her bemused expression.
" Don't look at me like that! I'm not a dentist sweetie, I can give you as many unhealthy treats as I want," his grin altogether too smug for what should be a serious doctor.

Watching Izumi run off he followed her out of the door, down towards the main halls towards the shops. He was dying for some coffee and this was probably the only chance to get any before the after training rush of paitents arrived. Running down the stairs he grinned at people as he passed, his white doctors coat flying out behind him, the silver embroided clan symbol on the breast pocket flashing in the light. As James reached the main hall he spotted Yue, as well as the small crowd that surrounded her. Laughing at the scene he jogged towards her, ruffling his scarlet hair as he went. Approaching her from behind he gave her a sharp poke in the shoulder, a dangerous greeting to a woman covered in weapons perhaps but he'd known her for some time and trusted she wouldn't slice his head off on instinct.
"So...should I book an appointment to speak to you?"

"Oh come now, it's honestly not that bad. Peace can be a lovely thing. Perhaps I should advise Chu Lao shi to have a word with you?" Yue spoke, watching the man's expression change.

"Bah! Anything but more schoolwork." The man chuckled, shaking his head to the thought of the teacher. Leaning close, he smirked, putting a hand to one side of his mouth. "And you know he'll never shut up."

Now it was Yue's turn to laugh, patting his shoulder. "Ah, but you are right." She was about to answer, tilting her head slightly as she felt the touch to her shoulder. The voice that followed made her smile, giving a light shrug as she turned to face him. "Bu shi. Not necessary doctor. I always have time for you. How goes the clinic this day? Hopefully not too many injuries." She asked, oddly golden eyes seeming to hold a shimmer.

James nodded to the shop owner, bowing forward slightly in a silent apology for interrupting them.
"The clinic is going well xièxiè m'am, though if I may have a private word with you when you are next free?" he replied, the chinese sounding a little odd since he'd only recently decided to learn the language. He ruffled his reddish brown hair in a semi-nervous motion, shifting his weight from one foor to the other like an energetic child might. He had known Yue since he'd become part of the clan, but she was still the boss...and giving the leader news she may not want to hear was never going to be good. Looking back on past events like this he would always put it down to her eyes. The shimmer in her eyes, like looking into golden water, gave the strong impression that the young woman could tell if you were lying or trying to hide something.

Yue bowed her head as well, the shop owner patting her on the shoulder before heading back to his store, tending to a couple of customers that had arrived. Turning her odd eyes back to the doctor, she merely nodded once but raised an eyebrow to his request. "Of course. I'm free right now actually. I just thought I'd check on everyone considering the slight issues with Triskel we're having." She murmured, waving the issue since it was sure to be fine now.

If he wished to speak to her alone, then there must be something more serious. She said a couple of words that caused the crowd to disperse, brushing some loose hairs from her face. "So, where do you wish to talk?" She asked softly, not seeming upset or anything, only calm per usual. Something was bothering him, and usually she took it as bad.
