I'd rather die before getting really old before forgetting everything and before getting so tired that I can't do the things I love to do. So I would have to say I would like to die of some (not to painful) illness at an older age (late 80's possibly).

my great grandma wasn't herself when she died. it was really sad.
there are people that are just kept alive by tubes and stuff and some in so much pain that they're crying all the time.
Dad joked about when he turns sixty, he'll start taking skydiving lessons so when he starts to become senile, he'll just forget to pull the cord.
Me, i'd like to pass on in my sleep. But I enjoy this world so much, I'd still be sad.

I want to die from ebola. I mean, if I could choose any way to go, that would be it. I am just fascinated by that virus. I would not have any protests against such a powerful creature taking me.

For me... hmmm... I think dying in my sleep is too much of a p***y way out. I think I would want to die in a glorious inferno of some sort. It would hurt only until it burnt away my nervous system... and my lungs would burn too... but man... that would be really cool. /pyromaniac dying dream.
Hahaha. I always joked around about slicing my wrists when I was an old lady in a retirement home (if my family shoved me into one of those). But that's too... I dunno... emo.
Anything in a hospital sucks, heart attacks suck (but that's what'll probably kill me). Cancer (sucks), Tumor (sucks), illness (gawd I've been sick all my life that would suck so hard if it just turned worse when I thought it would get better). Death by fighting sounds sweet... haha. I just thought of a pack of dogs for some reason. wtf
How I would not want to die: Being crushed to death, Suffocation (except in fire lol), Drowning (oh gawd, although its not as bad as being crushed to death), falling to my death (although that would be pretty quick), anything to do with thunderstorms or the rear-end of an elephant (my friend absy and I joke about this one a lot).
But no matter what happens, when death comes to get me, I really want to talk to him. I see all this s**t in the afterlife goin' on, and all these lost souls... maybe I could help out. :> What if there is like a office in the other life? XD I would probably either be a guardian angel or someone who tracks down and helps lost souls. I couldn't do the killing bit.

XD ever read Terry Pratchett's Discworld books? i think i would positively love it if Death was like he was in those books. i'd try to chat him up and i hope he would at least have a bit of a sense of humour, even if it's the dry kind XP as for how i would want to die...i dunno. none of the ways to die sound very pleasant. i know i don't want to freeze to death because i positively hate the cold. i wouldn't want anything lengthy or painful, but i don't really like the idea of going peacefully in my sleep or being dead within a second either. i do know that i want to grow old before i die, because then i'd feel more accomplished. but otherwise...the only way i can think of dying in an interesting manner is essentially impossible in so many ways; heroically dying while fighting off a massive army of mooks with non-projectile weapons alone, and getting through pretty much the majority of them before being defeated. but that's not possible because a) i'm not that awesome, b) i have no skill in any weapons, c) the likelihood of me finding such an army within the next 40 or so years is very, very low, and d) they probably will be using guns and similar weapons because the ones i'm thinking about are severely outdated. but an otaku can dream, right? XD

I'm not going to die. I may not look it, but I can be damn stubborn. If the stubborn plan fails, I'll take out a loan and hunt zombies. That, or I'll distract the Reaper with something and run the other way. rofl
In all seriousness, if I have to die I don't want to know about it. Let it be either in my sleep from carbon monoxide, or super fast from a bullet to the brain or something. I want to be going 'When did this happen?' when I'm a ghost.
I admit it: I'm scared to death of death.

@ dark: I keep hearing really good things about those books... I may just have to pick them up. lol I think he does have a sense of humor, especially in some ways that people die (it's a horrible way to die, but choking on candy sort of makes me laugh... and makes me want to name a book or something after that. Hmm... And before anyone starts ranting at me about people they know choking on candy, I have choked on candy and I have saved people from choking on candy... and it still makes me giggle a little bit. D:< IM NOT CRAZY.)

It's even good for your partner; they get to brag "I was so good I KILLED them!" xD or it can be turned around and said "i was so bad they died! gonk " xd *mean person* Hisa: the books are really good, even though i've only read a handful of them. another book i'd like to suggest is Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman XD best book i've ever read. seriously. i borrowed it from the library, then decided i needed to buy the book and read it again because i was so sad that i finished it.
