So, this morning I been trying to catch Heatran who's at Stark MT. Problem is my Pokemon are either too weak, too strong, and I don't appear to have enough Pokemon balls. (Ultra balls, and Timer balls are low) I don't have my Master Ball it's in a PC being held by some other Pokemon.

I have tried three times. I have defeated it once, got knocked out once, and then I just quit because I ran out of Pokemon balls that were effectivly.

My current team consist of:
Lv 60 Empoleon which has the moves: Waterfall, Hydro pump, Flash Cannon, and Surf. (Yeah I shouldn't have gotten rid if drill peck but...)

Lv 54 Rapidash which is all fire based with: Fire spin, Ember, Fireblast, and Flamethrower: (I found that if I leave Rapidash out I can just keep throwing Pokemon balls at Heatran since nither of 'em can do any damage to one another)

Kricketune LV 56 (who I shouldn't even be using but I wanted some items and boost up his exp points) has Cut, Bug Buzz, X-scissor, and false swipe.

Luxray LV 58 which has: Spark, Discharge, Crunch, and Iron tail.

Staraptor Lv 54: Quick Attack, Aerial Ace, close combat, and fly.

and my very weak rock slave, Graveler lv 52: which basically knows all the HM moves like Rock Climb, Strength, and Rock Smash plus Magnitude.

If I leave to go some of my poison, sleepers and other status moves Pokemon will Heatran leave or could I catch him using what I have? I only have 21 Dusk Balls, 26 Net Balls, 10 Timer Balls, 23 Great Balls, and 7 repeat balls.

ith that set up...just go retrive your master ball from it's holder and use it on him

he OR she wont elave unless you fight him either catching or KOing, you can tell for sure by saving in, exiting, then rentering his chamber, he should still be there

your best bet, in honesty is empoleon
but if he gets low, use a max potion on him

and spend the money for lots of dusk, timer, and ultra balls, say 70 of each, a lot i know

also despite the move false swipe, dont use it, he's pretty resiliant to it

as for dusk balls, invest in them because in caves, and in night, and in night and in a cave, they work better

I don't really want to use my Master ball though. I been saving it for whatever Pokemon is the Ice Temple at Snowpoint city. Or maybe for that sneaky roaming Pokemon.

Yeah I guess I have to sell off some nuggets and battle some folks. Whew I need a lot of dusk balls then.

Oh I tried again and got Heatran to use the majority of his moves and I think I have all his move sets which are:

Scary face
Fire spin
Iron Head
Lava Plume

I knocked him down to 1 HP and he still wouldn't go inside any ball! I'll take your advice and see if that works.

I GOT HIM! Last night, and iIt took 10 dusk balls! Now I want the ones at Snowpoint Temple (but I can't seem to find out the pattern so I left) and the one at the hidden lake (forget the name) is rather hard as well. Oh and I still haven't caught Mespirt. Though I did get to hit it once then it fled. I'm guess it has like 100 HP left. (lol) It's probably going to be the last Pokemon I get before HG/SS comes out.

If you want to get the "Traveling pokemon" and this is only a suggestion you should probably get a pokemon at a decent level that know's mean look , wrap fire-spin , etc... , and then catch it from there And sadly if you want
Regigigas you have to get all three of the "Regi's"

-regice
-registeel
-regirock

they are only found in emerald , saphire and ruby which sadly... means that you have to migrate which if you ask me is annoying ...
but ya congrats on catching heatran =D

Yeah I have a Nintendo Dsi so yeah no migrating for me. So that Stone pokemon will forever be a stone pokemon. Unless I get a regular Ds which isn't going to to happen.

Nintendo DS Lites are going pretty cheaply these days. If you check out a Game Stop, you might be able to get a really good deal on a used one.

And congrats on Heatran! I'm close to going after him myself in Diamond (just chased Buck back to Stark Mountain), but I'm concentrating on catching pokemon for Pokemon Ranch at the moment!

I did randomly catch Moltres last night in Platinum, though! I had tried every type of ball I had (unfortunately, I have no Master Balls) and had been unsuccessful. So when I happened to stumble across it without really meaning to, I just threw a Quick Ball at it and VOILA! It was caught! I think that's the first time a Quick Ball ever actually worked for me! xd But at the same time, Moltres was really weakened, so that probably helped!

hmm maybe. Then I can be my own best friend and trade off some of my pokemon. I guess I should do that... *sigh* Such a pain though. BUT I don't do Gamestop had too many bad experiences.

Once my Pokemon teams are better train (I'll be training them this weekend since my work load is zero xd ) I will try to catch the other two super strong Pokemon. The one in Snowpoint Temple and the at the fourth Lake.

The Pokemon at Snowpoint Temple is Regigigas. In order to get him to awaken, you have to have Regirock, Regice, and Registeel in your party. If you can battle someone who has them, then you should be able to trade for them at the GTS. You can also use the Pokemon GTS website to find out what pokemon are commonly traded for them, which might help you find one.

I'm going to make a seperate thread for the pokemon at Sendoff Spring!
