I'm quite interested in this question, fellow avatar maniacs. How often do you change your avatar? Why?
You can also talk about:
- What makes you change it? (A sudden idea, Gaia item update, playing around your inventory, a TekTek someone made you, finally achieving your dream avatar...?) If a sudden idea, what gives you all your avatar ideas?
- Do you think you change your avatar way more often than others, or much more rarely than other people you know?
- What do you think is the "normal"/average timespan between avatar changes? Do you know someone who changes their avatar so often you can't keep up?

I use to change it about every two days, but since I'm not creative I just stuck with this one.

Sometimes I'll keep an avi for two weeks because I can't come up with anything new and I don't want to reuse an idea.
Other times, I'll change within a day because the creative juices are flowing, or because I bought new items that I want to use.
I think it's normal for somebody that's online daily to change every two/three days.

I don't change my avatar that much. I never change it unless I can make another avatar that I really like. And I have a really hard time making decent avis.
I've had this current avi since.. the Halloween event ended. Because my last avatar was a halloween one. And I'm not gonna wear a Halloween avatar during November.
If I change my avatar more often, then it means that I've been having a lot of creative avatar ideas.

I often play around with what i have,so sometimes i change it a few times every week,but there isn't much difference beetween most of them (i don't have many items,i've only been here since May 200 cool .

Depends on how satisfied I am with my current avatar, how long I'm on, and if I really care.
Usually, I make minor tweaks to my avatars every time I log on.
So usually multiple times a day, to daily. Very rarely do I not touch my avatar for a few days unless I'm not on. haha.

If I'm online, I usually change my outfit a couple times a day.
I usually change it because there's some flaw in the outfit that bothers me. I might also be bored. I'll change it if I get a new item from the Daily Chance, Aquarium, etc.
I like to challenge myself when I make a new outfit. I'll usually base it around a hard to match item, some item I haven't worn in a while, or some weird color scheme. Sometimes I have a certain theme in mind.
I used to change my avatar constantly. I never kept an outfit on for more than ten minutes (while I was online). This was back when I had about umm 100 - 300 items. Back then, it was a decent amount of items. I'd repeat a lot of outfits. I also didn't care as much about overall flow or shape... there was so much less to work with so the matching style was a little more lax.
As we've gotten more item choices available, I've become much more picky... so... I most likely wouldn't wear any of my old outfits.
I'd love to find an outfit that I could wear for at least a month or more. I haven't come across one yet. I'd love to know how other people can keep the same outfit on for a couple months or more.
I have mule accounts that haven't changed in months. I like their avatars as is. But I like their avatars as mule avatars... I wouldn't be able to stand the same outfits on my main account day after day~

I put together a whole look in one day and usually keep it for a few months then sell the whole thing and buy another outfit and the cycle continues. Yea I don't have enough money to just keep buying outfits.

It really just depends on my mood. I had the same avatar all summer, then one around Halloween and now this one... its already starting to bore me a bit, so I'm questing for some expensive items to change it.
If I do change my avvie frequently, its only small changes.

I'll change mine perhaps once a week-And whenever I do it's only to tweak my existing avatar slightly. In fact, I think I've only actually made and bought around 4 outfits in my whole time on Gaia? The rest were all modifications of previous ones. pirate

:} I think there's a perfect balance that we have to find... Too few items, and you don't have enough to dress up in. Too many items... and I guess there's just too many choices? Something about large inventories makes it hard to come up with ideas for an outfit. It's easier when you don't have as many options.
For a while there, I was addicted to logging into my mule that had <30 items. It was so fun to keep making outfit after outfit~ =D
...And yet, I'd never really want to wear any of those outfits on my main. Like I've said, I still would like to find an outfit that I could keep on for months without it annoying me.

whenever i get bored or see something i NEED to use
around once a month or so. the longest i've gone w/out changing would be about 3 months.
