Which honor bands have you done? District, All State, something national, or maybe something specfic to your reigon or state.
Personally, I've done Prairie Honor Band (at McKendree University) for the last two years. And this year I auditioned for IMEA and made district. I was third to last chair, but I was so happy make it.
So, how about you?

I tried out for district both 7th and 8th grade and didn't make it. Last year I tried out for regionals and made 21st chair clarinet, 2nd third part. I'm trying out for regionals again this year and hoping to have a better audition and get a higher chair or part(worst audition of my life last year. I didn't even know the third etude)

This is my 3rd year in district honor band (on Thursday/friday) and I don't usualy like it sweatdrop The other percussionists in my area are kind of a bunch of douche bags. But this year there are more female percussionists than male, which rocks :3 I've done WIBC twice. Frank Ticheli was there this year, which was incredible x3

I made GMEA District Honor Band (Georgia) and (there aren't chairs in Percussion section) I was #1 Percussionist. =) We played things like We Will Rock You be Queen and Thriller by Michael Jackson. It was awesome, but I was surprised by how much better we were than my school's band (they're terrible) lolz Actually, mine was Friday. (5-7-10)

Personally, I've never made an audition for all-district, which consequently means I've never gone to all-state.
The words 'honor band' mean something completely different in Virginia. Here, if you get marching band superior at State VBODA and superior at concert VBODA, you get special medals and a plaque saying you are a Virginia Honor Band that year. We got that this year, first time in several years we've had it. Six, I think. It was the best feeling EVER. heart
One of my friends was a freshman and made it all the way to all-state on bass trombone. My neighbor was the first to make it to all-state jazz band from my school on regular trombone. Three or four kids always participate in the regional orchestra, and a handful of kids make it to all-state every year. ...except me. lol.
