I mean in my opinion the forums aren't all that great. Most of the members are very simple minded, rude, slightly racist, and such. The only appealing factors to this place are the avatars but that gets boring fast since you have to do X-amount of things in order to get fancy items for it.
The games are lacking as well.
So why do you log on?

I log on to check on and post in this and other guilds I'm in, and to run my profile contest. Other than those two things, I really don't do much; I like to do the jigsaw when they add new designs, and I work the marketplace occasionally.
I feel like there are too many cool aspects of the site which cannot be fully enjoyed unless real money is involved; I don't like paying for anything on Gaia with real money. sad

Well of course your going to find a few people like that ((slightly racist, close minded, stc)) here since most of the people here age ranges from middle school kids to high school sophmores. ((Not an excuse for that butit happens))
Mostly what I do here is roleplay. When I'm not doing that I'm talking to alot of professional artist, amateur but very talented directors, script writers, designers from fashion to gaming about Ideas and where to meet at different comic book conventions and stuff.

Gaia is really just a part of me. I originally came in '03 under another alias. I left and came back in '06 as this one. It might sound silly, but it's kinda like a digital hobby to pass the time. dressing up, collecting items and such. It just so happens that now we can play more games and talk via voip on zOMG.
I came to this guild to escape the stupidity and madness of the GD. That, and I just wanted to connect with fellow gaiains. I felt like I was the odd girl out (which is so silly) at the time for being Black and on Gaia. I was just in a forum where there were a lot of White people spewing all sorts of stupid nonsense.
Now, I usually just go straight to my guilds (SCAS in particular), maybe check out what's new around the site, and then go somewhere else. I haven't really been that involved lately. A lot of things have just kinda gotten a bit boring on gaia. Meh. It will change once I have time on my hands again.

Don't have time to reply to everyone, but yeah I log on for similar reasons. This guild being one of the better parts of my experience here on Gaia. I agree too many features nowadays seem to want real money which I'm sorry but no way will I pay real cash for fake cash. That's insanely retarded to me.
I also joined way back in '04 too a long, long break and finally came back till I'm pretty active nowadays. I don't really care for all the "social networking" aka facebook/myspace clash going on but whatever.
I just lurk around the forums and I'm still trying to find my niche. At least I still have my DS and Wii to keep my nerd needs fulfill. My PC fried so no more sims. stressed
