I started hated it because I read a bit of it, looked up the plotlines of the other books, and was disgusted by the extreme anti-feminist views it spouted and the fact that it was poorly written. Its widespread popularity and influence only increased my dislike for it .

Let me ennumerate: 1. It has no decent plot 2. It's sexist 3. It's overrated 4. I can write better than that, and I'm not kidding 5. Bella is a moron 6. Edward is a pansy
Need me say more?

Well, everybody loved it, and I was determined not to read it. Then a few of my friends pretty much chained me to a chair and made me read it because they were SURE that I would like it.
But I hated it anyway.

Bella comparing her miserable life to literary masterpieces. I hate Bella, I actually enjoyed the second book because I loved imagining her suicidal ways. I wanted her to die sweatdrop

1. Kristen Stewart was a monotonal dull freak 2. Robert Pattinson needs to be introduced to the shower 3. VAMPIRES DO NOT SPARKLE! 4. Edward is a girly pansy vamiress 5. Bella is so retarded. Edward like abandoned her for like half a year, and she still took him back! And finally, the plot was pointless! OH! And Stephanie made Jacob fall in love with a hybrid! Pardon my french, but What the hell is up with that?!
Enough said.

First thing: I voted NO on the poll because not even Satan wants Twilight. Meyer is like... the enemy of both God and Satan. They will join forces to smite her. Anyway.
The sparkling vampires, their lack of fangs, the fact they call themselves "vegetarians", Bella's stupidity, the fact that the characters who had the potential to grow as characters (Eric and Mike?) didn't. Hell even Jessica was probably a better character. Ω

I didn't mind the sparkling AT FIRST, the *****, sexism or even the fact that Bella just wouldn't ******** die...but the whole plot in Breaking Dawn killed it...and that ******** child!! I wish she would've been killed too! and then Jacob, who was actually an okay character, went and fell in love with her?! WTF!?! God damn ******
Anyways....the last book is what killed it for me....but because of it, i'm never reading any of the other books again...because i had an Epiphany after i finished the series...

VAMPIRES DO NOT SPARKLE. Apart from that, I read all the way to Breaking Dawn in 3 months. I lagged on Twilight and Eclipse because they were boring, and I wanted to get New Moon over and done with. BD was very anti-climatic in my opinion, and then when I reflected on the series, I realised that nothing was good about it. They were overhyped, and it turns out that nothing happened in the whole series. It was just romance. I don't want that. Then I realised a lot of different things like Bella's Mary-Sue tendancies, Edward's abuse, and the ***** (Jacob and Nessie as well as Edward and Bella). That's all. For now.

Shortly after reading Breaking Dawn, I started to think about the series I had just read. Then I realized it's complete and utter lack of coherence.

In no order; 1) the fact that it had vampires in it that were not either 1: Getting their asses handed to them or 2: surviving in a realistic way with all of the laws of the real world, or at least rationally in their own universe. 2) I was fine that they sparkled, even though it kind of irked me. I decided to see if she could redeem herself, but NOOOOOOO. Instead the pansies frolic around! And then at the end of Breaking Dawn...that was just what the <********>. NO EPIC VAMPIRE CARNAGE?! The only reason I actually read that far was to see some real resolving of all of the poorly-constructed plot-threads. But even then, more disappointment. 3)At the end of I forget which book, she references real werewolves. Children of the Moon. But then they never make an appearance, c'mon now! 4)The writing is crap. Painfully obvious mormon symbolism, adjective abuse, wet dream nastiness, anti-feminist undertones, and taking advantage of the fact that sex sells. 5) The parts from the point of view of the wolves were the most interesting parts of the whole series, sadly. The semi-complex social hierarchy of the pack was far more interesting than the plot hole-ridden mythology-destroying f**-ifying(excuse my use of the word, but that's the only way I could think of how to put it) emo vampire-esque creatures. 6)The lack of a plot in general. It was a very simple sequence. And whenever she had an opportunity to make something even remotely interesting, it wouldn't happen and some boring unoriginal crap would take its place. 7)Those godawful fangirls, oi vey. They think they're all smart carrying those 'big' books around just cause they have huge font on each page. *snorts* READ THE DIVINE COMEDY, THEN YOU CAN TRY TO SELL IT TO ME THAT YOU LIKE BOOKS. Point being, if you're going to write about vampires, you'd better do it damn well. It takes a very good execution to pull good vampire writing off. And Stephenie Meyer, well...failed at that. She's not a good writer, period.

Surprisingly? It was because a friend of mine was acting JUST like Bella at the time with her boyfriend. So the whole thing ended up leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

I started hating it BEFORE the whole fangirl craze, surprisingly.
1: The lack of common sense when it came to vampires. I can hate it for that reason alone. 2: After learning of all the ped0 and anti-feminism crud. 3: SHE THINKS BRAZIL IS ON THE WEST COAST. ENOUGH SAID.
