I'm assuming this is different from the Vincent-centric game (Dirge of Cerberus) that's currently in the works.

A possible remake, but for now the video clip they released of it is just a teaser. It's said that there might be a remake of FFVII, or that the video clip opening was just to test the PS3 capabilities.

Wow, seeing Cloud without those horrible, stumpy cigarette butt hands filled me with glee. It would be awesome to see an FF7 remake, but I'm very doubtful that it'll happen. Square will most likely turn their attention to upcoming Final Fantasy titles and the like. That and the only difference would be improved graphics and perhaps a few extra cinematics.
Regardless, it would still be cool to see. *shrugs*

In an interview with on of the SE peoples (the high-up ones) the guy (I forget which sorry) is quoted as saying about the FFVII remake "not until there's a remake of FFVI"

I saw its opening on Youtube.com and its sweet, but they needed to leave the opening to its original way, they took out the guards, AND thay made Cloud the first one out of the train!

it's just a rumor. i saw the video for the remake, but they said thats how ff7 remake would look. there isn't much of a possibilty that they will make a remake.
