Okey, Han had a lucky shot hitting Boba Fett in his jet back, forcing him into the scarlacc (although he didn't die) in a staight up battle between the 2, who would win question

boba fett wins. with his jet pack and all of his other gear, han doesnt stand a chance! (even if he is the coolest smuggler of all time) besides, boba's gear would be a lot better in real life then how it looks in the movies, they just didnt have the right tech. he would be more along the lines of jango ninja

Boba Fett. Sure, Han has the Falcon, but he doesn't have the cahones to use a thermal detonator to propell himself out of the Sarlacc pitt.

I don't think it really comes down to who has better gear or a better ship. it comes down to, very simply, who has more of a fighting instinct. In that case, its Fett. Its very difficult to take down any Mandalorian. They are bred and raised to be warriors, every single one of them. And Fett is an elite type of Mandalorian warrior. Han has all sorts of survival instincts and maybe Fett wouldn't be able to -kill- him, but he'd beat him and expect him to be dead. Han's only advantage is an uncanny ability to get out of every situation alive.

While that's true, Han will always have an advantage that Fett doesn't have: something to fight for. Plus, Han always has a few tricks up his sleeve. He beat Fett on more than one occasion, don't forget. In the end, Fett didn't want to hunt Solo anymore and they worked together to kill Sal-Solo, so I think it's fair to say that neither would win.

Don't get me wrong, Boba Fett is kick a**.
It's true that Fett has superior skills, ability and equipment. In a knock down, flat out fight, Fett would win hands down. But Han has something Boba doesn't. Call it luck, the Force, whatever... Like Raven said, he's got the uncanny (and often infuriating) ability to come out of any situation on top.
It's like what Kreia said about another scoundrel in KotOR 2:
"Atton is, as always, the fool. And the Force watches out for ones such as him, I feel."
