From the outside hallway, Xeion's office looks like any old office in the Gotei 13 -- boring, dull and dreary. That is not the case with Xeion's office for if you step inside, you'll know the meaning of the phrase: 'Don't judge a book by its cover'. Inside, the office has been modified into an octagon-shaped room with an octagon-shaped glass floor that has a view of the squad's indoor garden below. The room has many aesthetic amenities, like paintings, a knee-table, a couch, and a large window with the view of the squad's backyard, but the main thing which would catch anybody's eye would be the overall design of the room, as well as the placement of furniture, which suggested several other reasons as to why things were arranged that way.

Near the door, there are two Victorian-style pots with plants on each side to greet any visitor while the Captain's table is located near the door, so anyone who goes inside won't have to go far to speak with the Captain. In addition, this type of setting would allow the Captain a better view as to who comes in and out of the office, though first-timers would be a little surprised to see a Captain's table on the side of the room, rather than in the middle, like most offices were in the Sereitei were. Even so, along with the unorthodox placement of furniture, the office itself is quite neat and tidy -- always ready to greet guests with its cleanliness, uniqueness, and most of all, its beauty.

Evil shunpo'd outside of Xeion's new office. She had a light smile on her face as her own Captain's robes settled around her. She stepped forward and lightly knocked on the door.

Xeion had just finished up tidying the room and fixing the last of the furniture into their respective arrangements, suited for the style that he was going for when he suddenly heard a knock on his office door. He wiped his forehead, dripping with sweat, with a clean handkerchief he got from his left-sde pocket and smiled before putting the handkerchief back in place and headed for the door so as to greet whomever was out there knocking. This would be the first visitor he would get since becoming the new Taicho of Squad Nine, succeeding Kamashiro-taicho who was now the new head of Squad One. He was happy, though he was a bit sad at the same time -- a bittersweet feeling in his heart. Still, he wanted to keep a smiling face, not for his sake, but for the sake of the members who looked up to their respective Captains for strength.

"Please come in!" Xeion exclaimed, opening the door to see Evie-chan, one of his closest friends, right in front of him with a kind smile etched on her face. It was hard for Xeion not to reciprocate as the Captain gave her a warm smile back as thanks for the one he gave him. "Hey there, Evie-chan; it's so nice to see you again," said Xeion, "I haven't seen you since the wedding. How are things? Good, I hope."

Evil's smile broadened as Xeion welcomed her in. Her eyes looked around the room for a moment, taking it in before focusing her friendly gaze back onto Xeion.

"I've been doing just great. But, this isn't about me, I've come to give you something." She said with a wink.

She dug into the folds of her Captain's robes and pulled out a neatly folded Haori. She brinned and unfolded it, displaying it to Xeion. She handed it to him.

"And here is your first Haori, Captain Xeion Kuchiki."

When Xeion saw the haori being presented to him, his feeling wasn't that of extreme happiness like most people who receive a haori would feel. In fact, Xeion felt kind of down when he did. Still, he tried to smile, but it was quite evident that Xeion was really sad about the entire thing. With this haori, he knew that things wouldn't be the same before. Now he was going to have to work harder than ever to make everyone happy. Not that it bothered him, but the fact that he had that haori now meant that he had to abide by the strict codes of conduct of being a Captain.

Xeion knew all about the Captaincy position and that being a Captain, although entailed more power, was always associated with discipline, respect, and other such virtues. Xeion had all those things down pat, but it's just that Xeion had always been a second before, meaning he had more time to be himself and had the comfort of looking up to someone to inspire him. Now that he was the one being looked up on, it made Xeion worried for the first time in a long while. The virtues of how a Captain should act rung in his mind as he took the haori from Evie-chan with trembling hands. "Please...come in for a while and join me for tea, Evie-chan," stuttered Xeion and quickly walked away from Evie-chan, quickly placing the haori on his table with such urgency as if the haori itself was some kind of burden that Xeion wanted out of his hands.

Xeion went into the kitchen, the reality of him being a Captain now slowly setting in. He tried his best to keep calm as he made the tea, but it was obvious that he was really worried; beads of cold sweat trickling down his face. "I'm captain now...so I must...no, I need to...change my way of doing things...even though I don't want to...because a captain...needs to be...a role-model...," said Xeion in his mind; each word like a pin p***k that pierced his heart. He didn't want to change because he made people smile. Being a captain, to him at that moment, meant having to sacrifice that way of doing things in order to become a role model.

Captains shouldn't deal with anyone lower than a third seat unless with an important cause -- a Vice Captain was expected to handle all that, leaving the Captain to work on papers, not really doing a thing to help the members of his Squad. However, Xeion didn't want that, which was why he chose to remain a Vice Captain before, declining so many times the title for Captaincy. Why was he one now? It wasn't because he wanted it, it was because his former superior and friend asked him to. That was it and nothing else. Xeion opted for a proactive, caring, and relationship-oriented approach to governing; to really get to know your constituents. As Captains are in his mind, Xeion thought that he wouldn't be able to do that anymore. This was the reason why he was scared.

Evil's brows knitted together when Xeion hurriedly put the haori down and began to busy himself in the kitchen. Her sense of smell was extremely good, so she could pretty much tell how people were feeling by their scent. Every emotion had it's own scent, and she could easily distinguish these. Xeion was rolling with all sorts of different emotions, and all of these combined scents assailed her sensitive nose.

She quickly entered the kitchen and put a hand on his shoulder, turning him around to face her. She saw the fear in his eyes and Evil recognized it. When she had been promoted she had had no real desire to be a Captain. She liked being Daven's Vice Captain, so she was a little anxious about becoming one. But she found that over time a person got used to it and it wasn't that much different than being a Vice Captain, just with a little more responsibility and respect.

"Xeion. What's wrong?" She asked worriedly, thinking she probably knew the answer.

As soon as Evie-chan placed her hand on his shoulder and turned him around, Xeion felt a cold chill run down his spine and his muscles tensed up, becoming almost like concrete. The young man found it became harder to move all of a sudden, like he was being constrained in a layer of heavy chains, and his body sternly positioned on the floor as if he was tied to an anchor with no hope of escape. There he was, just standing there, at the mercy of Evie-chan and her perceptive nose and piercing gaze that saw through his emotions through his eyes, even behind the blue shades he always wore as a sign that he was a Revenant.

"I...I...I'm afraid, Evie-chan..."

Xeion let out that small, yet expressive murmur that encompassed everything he had felt. His voice was trembling; his heart was racing. He was confused -- so confused. Xeion, in one of the rarest occasions ever, was becoming a little stressed, worried that he might have to change himself from the very core of his being just to be able to fulfill the role as the Captain of the squad he loved so much.

"Evie-chan...I...I don't like it...this heavy burden," murmured Xeion once again, dropping down on to his knees with a blank expression on his face; his skin turning paler in color. He was really terrified.

Evil looked seriously at him for a moment as he fell to his knees. She went to her own knees and took his face in her hands so he would look at her.

Her own eyes blazed with determination and trust.

"But why Xeion? A whole new world has just opened itself up to you." She said softly, making sure his gaze stayed onto hers.

Instinctively, Evil felt protective towards people who were scared. She didn't think about it much, but attributed it to her Werewolf side, with her love of pups. For a moment that's what she saw Xeion as, a scared pup that was being forced out into the world to come into it's own.

She often made connections like this with people, and found that most of them were true. Besides, she wanted to make him feel better. Wolf Gods knew how many times he'd helped her.

"It gets easier overtime Xeion." The voice seemed to come from the shadow in the corner being produced by the light coming from the window. The shadow seemed to rise from the floor taking shape of a man. The man fully appeared in the room which he seemed impressed by. His captain's haori was draped over his shoulders in the same style of the famous captain-commander many years ago. On the back of the haori was the squad 5 insignia. "Sorry for the interuption, but I just came to congratulate Xeion on becoming a captain, and while I am at it Congratulations Evil on becoming Captain-Commander." Yamoto gave each of them a big smile and waited for them to either accept him or kick him out.

"You don't understand my situation, Evie-chan! Because of this, I may have to change the way I interact with people!" Xeion exclaimed, his tone of voice still as worried as ever. "Before now, I've always felt secure that I can do whatever I want without people judging me for who I am because I was just a Vice Captain. I was free to help people, to get to know them, to teach them better! Now, I'm a Captain -- more responsibility and less time for serving those who truly are important -- the people. A Captain's job is to just sit around and deal with the paper work; I don't want that! I want to help people, to be there, to see them grow! I don't want to be lazy because I want these hands -- my hands -- to help mold the future of the Seireitei!"

Xeion was truly passionate about his work. From the bottom of his heart, he only wanted to help others. The reason why he was scared in the first place wasn't really the responsibility thrust upon him, but rather, the fear it caused him. With great power comes great responsibility. With that said, responsibility entailed a lot of work and time wasted, time better spent on helping others improve. Hence, Xeion's fear. The power and position didn't matter to him. All that he ever cared about was making people smile and seeing them grow. That was it -- it was that simple.

Evil's gaze sharpened, pinning him down like an insect under examination.

"That's what you think this position gets you? Sure, there's a lot of paperwork, but that's what Vice Captains are for. I make it a point to visit my squad members every day, and if I'm behind on my paperwork, then oh well. Being a Captain is about making people grow, to help advance them through society so they can have a better life. You can't be lazy as a Captain, it is physically impossible. We, the Gotei 13, are the ones who shape the Sereitei. We mold it by molding others, helping them to become stronger and to learn how to get along with one another."
She said to him.

She nodded a little distractedly at Yamoto. Currently all her attention was focused on Xeion.

Xeion felt the weight of Evie-chan's gaze pin him down. He tried to move his body, but he didn't felt like he really was pinned. Henceforth, he decided to just remain stationary and listen to what Evie-chan had to say. While doing so, Xeion averted his eyes from Evie-chan's gaze because for one thing, he was ashamed at himself for being so weak-willed, allowing worry to overcome his heart instead of being happy. The other thing was he can't really face Evie-chan right now because of the thought he had entertained of forcefully getting Evie-chan to stop her from speaking, even if it meant that she would get hurt in the process, though only a little bit. Fortunately, he didn't go through with it. Xeion just stood there.

"Haha...then I guess I'm not really fit to become a Captain after all...because I'm showing my weak self in front of you right now," Xeion said in a solemn voice that went softer and softer. "Kamashiro-taicho, Drift-sama, Feiy-sama, Yamoto-san, you; all of you are fit for your roles. You're strong and you're determined. You never let your weaknesses get the better of you. Tell me now, how can someone as weak as me compare to all of you?

Tears started flowing down Xeion's eyes, though his blue shades covered the true depth of his sorrow from Evie-chan's gaze. "The twelve of you other Captains -- all of whom are amazing in their own way. What can I possibly do to reach you levels? I only know how to care, to love, to nurture. In terms of fighting experience, Envy-chan's got more experience than me, as I usually fight only when I absolutely have to. Tell me, how can a pathetic excuse for a Captain be amazing? Captains were supposed to be strong fighters, leaders, and movers. Even if I strive to master those things, I can't be as great of a fighter as all of you! I can't kill! No, I won't kill! I don't want people to get hurt! If a Captain can't even let go of that volition, how would you expect that Captain to make a life or death decision when the time called for it?!" More tears overflowed from Xeion's eyes as soon as he said that. Half of what he said was understandable though.

Evil took his chin in her hands and turned his head so that he would be forced to look at her. Her eyes had softened a little. She didn't have it in her to be sharp with him anymore.

"You don't have to kill anyone unless you absolutely have to, and even then pretty much every situation like that is avoidable. This is your squad now, you can run it however you like. You can make all of your members kind and nurturing just like you. Do you think all of us were strong right off the get-go? I have to say you are sadly delusional then my friend. in the beginning, we were all weak. We had to work our way up to be strong, every one of us, and you are no different Xeion."
She said, offering him a kind smile.

Having heard from his intelligence sources that Xeion, his second-in-command, had recently been promoted to a spot as the captain of squad nine, it was natural for Ky to visit him and congratulate him for his success. It was high time the guy had a promotion, which should have been given to him a long, long time ago. However, due to his morals, Xeion repeatedly denied the position for whatever reason he had in that lala land he called his mind. That didn't matter anymore though. Xeion was captain now and Ky knew that his influence would spread throughout the Seireitei would spread through Xeion. After all, he was a Raven under his command. Having someone like that hold a high office within the Seireitei, it meant that the Shinigami-Bount relationship would remain healthy wherein both parties would benefit from each other greatly and share knowledge, as well as secrets and information.

Ky didn't bother for formalities and just barged in the front door only to be greeted by a marvelous room. He didn't bother to knock since he had heard the discourse from outside, and probably thought that nobody would mind him get in since everything was going on.

Looking to his side, he saw Yamoto there while on his other side, he saw Evil and Xeion. By the looks of things, Xeion was slowly breaking under the pressure suddenly imposed on him by a majority rule. Ky understood very well why Xeion chose to be second, but this was also a good opportunity for him to grow as a person. Sure it would be filled with challenges, but for someone like Xeion, Ky was confident he can overcome it. He just needed the proper motivation to rise to the occasion since that was the type of person Xeion was. Ky, on the other hand, was more than happy to push him to the right direction and motivate him in the way he knew best. Through force.

"Evil, if you don't want to get skewered, get away!" Ky shouted, unsheathing his rapier from its scabbard and rushed at Xeion, thrusting his weapon as it glided effortlessly through the air. The thrust itself held nothing back since Ky didn't need to hold back if it was Xeion. He knew he would defend against it. If he didn't, he would die. Ky's attack was intended to kill. "Xeion, if you get hit with this, then you don't deserve to be a captain or a Raven!" Ky thought to himself, putting more power into his thrust even more.

"Stop acting pathetic and take this, you maggot!"

Evil's eye twitched and she hung her head in an exasperated motion when Ky barged in. She supposed there was no way to do this calmly and peacefully.

Since it appeared Xeion was a bit preoccupied, she reacted instinctively, not really even thinking about it. She jerked her arm around to the back of his neck so that her hand clasped firmly on the collar of his shirt, roughly jerking him up and avoiding Ky's lunge. She set him down and turned to glare at Ky, one hand on her hip.

"Ky, I was handling the situation just fine. If you had given me about five more minutes I could have helped him along..."
She sighed.

"But, if you want to fight him, I won't stop you. Xeion?"
She questioned, tilting her head slightly.
