-- Disclaimer -- Yes, Melo is totally ripping off Andie's Pack Meeting Place ORP idea. Deal with it! It's a great idea. ._. <3-- Setting -- Kallisto's Family Restaurant is a 'family' run establishment sandwiched between a chocolate-and-ice cream parlor and a print shop, kitty-corner from a pet food store and a gas station. Needless to say it is located in a busy but friendly part of town. The large sign out front has the word FAMILY in big, bold letters, you can't miss it. Inside and out is decorated in bold colors and richly stained woodwork. The walkway is paved, lined with cobblestones and fragrant herb shrubs on either side, with a low, wrought-iron railing. The outer doors (for use after hours) are also barred in iron.
The owner, Kallisto, obviously seeks to cater specifically to families. People of all ages are welcome, as long as their conduct remains safe and tasteful. There are Kids Menus and special smaller- or larger-portioned meals for those with varying appetites, and of course a buffet aimed at a wide variety of palates. Several contests are held throughout the month for children's coloring, singing, and other activities, with various modest prizes.
The kids can enjoy their own special room filled various toys and games. Yes, that is a big-screen TV sitting against the wall, just for them, though the broadcast filter and movies are 'G' ratings only. This room is located off the side of the main dining area, where parents can keep an eye on things. The 'walls' - half-walls really, are set up with a wooden railing that matches the rest of the decor, though the room itself is painted in brighter colors than the rest of the establishment.
The main dining area is an open area connected by the children's section on one side and the dancing area on the other. There are tables with cushioned benches and chairs throughout the room. Smaller tables that encroach on the dance floor can be moved back to give more space for dancing later on in the evening. A small stage takes up the far end of the hall for the resident band, or karaoke singers to use. Against the adjacent wall are set-ups for the instruments, karaoke machine, and a jukebox for daytime listening.
There is a large game room out back with wide-screen TVs for catching the latest sports games, as well as billiards tables, dart boards, and air hockey. Sorry guys, no currency-based gambling (though courtesy peanuts and pretzels are okay). This room is where the alcohol (and appetizers) is served, but only with proper ID (and we all know the real legal age for an anthro!). Keys are taken at the door, and cabs are called if needed -- which, there is a separate entrance here just in case. Another door leads outside, for the smokers, to a patio furnished with tables and chairs. Past the wrought-iron railing is a nice view of a creek and paved jogging trail beyond.
Anthros from all packs are welcome, as long as everyone remains civil.
And of course, there is the new 'resident' that seems to have taken up shop at one of the booths...-- Purpose -- This RP thread serves a dual purpose. -- For the Cats and Cat-hybrids to meet with Ignatius (their Alpha), or for other Pack business (Alphas, Betas and their representatives). -- Kallisto's restaurant is intended for families and social gatherings, everyone is welcome, and no mention of pack stuff needs to be made!-- Guidelines -- For the sake of RP, go ahead and assume all staff (the owner, waiters, etc.) are available all the time. Please keep in mind...
You may assume that your RP and someone else's are happening simultaneously, if you wish. You may make reference to them in your post, but please do not "interfere" for the sake of courtesy! Assume, for example, that a waiter in conversation finished with their other customer, then came over to your table when finished. Do not rudely pull them away, or interfere if other RPers are trying to develop a plot -- unless invited or otherwise given permission to do so. Drama is okay, as long as it isn't between the writers!
If you prefer you may assume your RP and another did not happen at the same time. In this case you may assume that the restaurant is busy or quiet, any time of day (any day of the week), whatever you need to make your story happen.-- Staff -- These are people here to help out where needed. You may approach these people freely.Ignatius - the infamous Alpha of the cats (fire). Bleeding-heart sort, though a little withdrawn lately. Keahi - Ignatius' son, a fox-cat, second-in-command in lieu of off-duty Beta; ambassador to packs and hybrids. Often rather quiet and thoughtful. Kallisto - a wolf-bear, and owner of the establishment. Loves kids (he's the big brother type) and dancing. Keelin - a cat, Kallisto's mother, keeps an eye on things especially the children; sometimes a waiter. Carlos - part-timer, waiter mostly, resident Mister Fixit. Lambert - same as Carlos, mechanic in-training. (please note he IS a teenager) Ed - a wolf, bartender and peacekeeper. Can not hold his liquor and will not drink on-duty. Will strike up a conversation with anyone. Inari - Rarely in evidence, though the food becomes AMAzing when he is. Amiable in general, though scary as hell when serving as a bouncer.Yaxha - cook, bartender when Ed is off-duty.-- Asphalt Candy -- The resident band, their name is an inside joke. They do requests, as well as their own songs. They often use different singers depending on who's available, or may play without vocals.Jimi - bass, mostly; gritty vocals (not main vocalist). Generally grouchy and blunt; makes a good bouncer. Raven - anything guitars!; sometimes sings, with melancholy voice. Likes to mingle with the crowd. Horea - former singer (can no longer speak let alone sing). why is he here anyway? dabbles with synth. Not generally approachable, tends to follow Jimi around. Lyuben - new main singer? rich velvety voice. can also play violin when needed. VERY amiable; sometimes gets on the bad side of the bouncers. Shino - sometimes sings, if in need of a more feminine sound (used to be in boys choir). Valentino - there has been talk that he might try his hand at the drums. Keeps an eye on the kids sometimes, as well as the rowdies. If you want any of your anthros added to the Staff List, or to add on a Regulars List please let me know! <3
Also, if you can think of anything I should include that is missing, (what the restaurant lacks, what I should do RPwise, whatever) please PM me with your ideas!

(( Hm... if you see anyone out of this group that you like/find particularly entertaining, add them to whatever list you want! 8D ))
Caelen led a group of feline Anthros in, his feathers ruffled and the tip of his tail fuzzed out to aid in him looking like a very annoyed leader. He had gathered a few of his feline friends up after he saw the bulletin board and they had been pestering him with questions all day. There was one question in particular that he hated them asking him, and yet they managed to repeat the question, Lord knows how many times, over the entire hour that they had banded together and headed out in search of a very specific place. The feline-angel hybrid swore they had asked him the question a million times, but he was prone to both over exaggerating and severe impatience. But now they were here and the questions would finally come to an end.
Just as Caelen thought he was finally safe, Keller piped up from the back end of the group. "Are you sure this is the right place?" The question seemed innocent enough, but to anyone who knew the feline vampire knew otherwise. Then again, he had every reason to ask that question considering how the past hour had gone for them.
Caelen cringed and reached up, clasping his hands over his ears, his feathers ruffling while the fur on his tail puffed. "Of course I'm sure this is the right place! I said it's the right place, so it's the right place, now isn't it!? Would you all just PLEASE shut up now?" The angel-feline hybrid looked as if he was two seconds away from falling to his knees and sobbing like a person who was freshly insane.
"That's also what you said seven restaurants ago, Caelen. Either know your town like the back of your hand or get a map and memorize it." Keller walked to the front of the group and gently stroked the hybrid's hair, making the idea of him caring very believable. However, the boredom in his eyes stated otherwise. Regardless, he put an arm around Caelen's waist, and glanced back towards one of the few full felines of the group, and a fully naked one at that. "Tsk, Ryland, you really should consider wearing clothes out in public." He clicked his tongue and helped Caelen to the bar.
"Unlike you, Keller, Ryland does not make people sick when he walks around in his birthday suit. Stop your petty jealousy. It is not a pretty color on you - then again, nothing is." Joseph tilted his head and flashed a cocky smirk, patting Ryland on the back. "Come everyone, let us mingle." Joseph turned, leading Ryland and Balendu with him. Adalaid seemed to have wandered off to sit in a dark corner by himself, leaving his brother to protect himself from Keller at the bar. Jedidiah also went off his own way, trying to find a place most secluded.
(( The group includes: Caelen, Adalaid, Keller (who is a vampire :3), Joseph, Ryland, Balendu, and Jedidiah. Now, you don't have to respond to all of them. 83 One or two will probably get faded out as we go along anyway. xD ))

((XD May as well attempt to get my cat boys some rp time... *shot*)) Mayfly pokes his head curiously into the restaurant, having made one of his rare decisions to actually attempt to mingle with strangers. The male was skittish at worst, shy at best, so never really said more than a word to anyone that ever did approach him. Akito walks in shortly after Mayfly, reaching up with a fuzzy paw to push his glasses back up onto his nose. His large wings folded along his back, but still a blatant advertisement to his mixed parentage. He sighs, long, fluffy tail swishing slightly, then looks around before heading further into the room, bowing his head in respect to those of higher rank than he as he came in. ((*tempted to toss Tunda in, seeing as how Luxray is a type of cat, but won't, due to his... circumstances...* XD))

The stage had one sole inhabitant at this hour. During off-hours between lunch and dinner, the resident band had been practicing. The others had stopped for the evening -- there was no gig scheduled -- but Jimi could be obsessive. It was not that he needed something to sound perfect, but because this was how he took out his aggression at times.
The unicorn chewed absently on a pen cap; smoking was not allowed inside the establishment. I could really use one right now, he thought through gritted teeth. Before the sudden rush of customers, most of them cats he noted with some measure of annoyance, he had but one person serving as his audience.
"Would you leave me alone already, you damn Lech?" he growled.
Ignatius sat at one of the smaller tables near the dance floor. Yes, he had been watching, but mainly because he was a sucker for just about any kind of music. Yes, even Jimi's angry, depressing stuff. The cat sat with one ankle crossed over the other leg and now switched them. He spoke with quiet, clipped words. "Mind your tongue, Jimi. I don't need to remind you that there could be children present."
"Hmph." Jimi's antelope-like ears flicked in annoyance. "Not much gets past these ears," he ground out. He had watched as both groups of people arrived. "None of them were children. But they were all cats. Why don't you go play with your pack-mates?"
As foul-tempered as the unicorn was, and as scathing as his words were, he did have a point. No doubt just showing himself in the other part of the restaurant would bring his presence to their attention. It was difficult to miss the mismatched wings denoting his position within the pack. He rose to his feet, taking the cup of tea he had been nursing with him. "Well, do enjoy the rest of your practice, Jimi."
Jimi watched him go, brows furrowed deeply. That guy had always bothered him. Several moments passed before he decided he was done for the night. He wouldn't get any further without destroying his guitar. After putting it away, muttering to himself the whole time, he finally left the room and headed out back. "Gods alive and dead, I need a smoke."
From behind the bar in the lounge Ed looked up as Jimi passed and waved, barely getting a response in return. The wolf chuckled and continued polishing the surface to an impossible shine.
Back in the main part of the restaurant, Jimi had passed Carlos, who looked up from what he was doing. Their familial similarities were obvious, though why Jimi had always held something against cats (or certain ones specifically anyway) was baffling to him. He was, after all, half-cat himself. He sighed and rubbed lightly at an ear, showed the guests to their seats and passed out menus.
Keelin glanced up from his brief conversation with Ignatius as Jimi walked through. The white cat was all smiles and not phased by the unicorn's stormy countenance. He grinned and waved at one of the guests, whom he had greeted only moments before, before continuing into the kitchen, leaving the alpha cat to visit with his pack-mates.
(( Hope that's a good springboard for more interaction. x3 <3 If not, I can add more. It as just getting a little bit long. *nod nod* ))

Mayfly, eyeing all the others in the room, inches back into a secluded corner, ears flat against his head. He still wasn't sure just why he had followed that voice in his head. His tail twitches slightly, then goes still as he examines the others in the room. Seeing Ryland, another cat that was naked as the day he was born, Mayfly began to feel a little bit better about his own lack of clothing, but not by much.
Akito blinks and skips lightly out of the way as Jimi stormed outside, preferring not to do anything that might cause someone to get hurt. The quiet bookworm sighs, adjusting his glasses again as he debates on whether he should really be here or not. In all honesty, he wished his adopted mother, Sparky, had come with him, but, trying to get any reaction out of his parent now that he was an adult himself and no longer needing to be cared for was rare. He frowns, pinching the bridge of his nose slightly as he felt a headache coming on. "I don't need this tonight..." He mumbles to himself, wings shifting slightly against his back as he takes a seat in a quiet corner, wondering what exactly was going to happen tonight.

(( I'm assuming you both have your boys in the main part of the restaurant, except for Keller and Caelen. If not, I can re-write if need be, and in that case I'm sorry. x.x <3 ))
"Keelin, would you be a dear and refill my tea?" Ignatius sat in a seat near the kitchens and in plain view of just about everyone. The alpha feline gave Keelin a silly smile and was rewarded with a playful air-swat.
"But of course." Keelin had just returned from the kitchen carrying a tray of food for some of the (imaginary?) patrons. When he was done serving, he left then later returned to switch Ignatius' teapot for a fresh one, so that he could fill his cup at his leisure. He then scanned the room. Spotting one cat off to the side away from the others, he headed off in that direction.
Mayfly was met by a his fellow feline with a sunny smile. It was obvious he loved the color pink, but he wore it tastefully and in professional attire. "Excuse me sir, have you been helped?"
"Don't need what?" Meanwhile, Akito was greeted by a curious, blatant stare by a young monkey. Lambert wore a nametag and a cute apron, but that was the extent to his professionalism. Everything else was bright color and ... creative ... cut to his clothing. He looked like he could have been one of Asphalt Candy's groupies, if they had any. "I'm sorry. Did you want to order something? Or just some water tonight?"
Carlos, feeling most energetic, saw first an angelic hybrid sit down, then a trio of felines, and decided to take all on in turn. "Hello folks! Would you like me to take your orders now?"
Adalaid Carlos approached last since he seemed keen enough to sit down and be alone. He was curious about other feline hybrids like himself. As always, his clothing was a mixture of My Little Pony colors and utility garb. "Hello," he purred happily. He tried to tone down his interest. It wasn't seemly at work. "Can I take your order?"
He glanced over at the last feline. If Jedidiah wasn't helped right away, he'd go there next.
Kallisto beat him there, though. It was a busy night. At least until everyone had been helped, the owner himself would give the staff a hand. Plus, it was always fun to mingle. The wolf-bear smiled broadly to the cat. "Good evening. Can I get something for you or would you like a little more time?"
Back in the lounge, Ed nodded to the two felines as they approached the bar with a, well, wolfish grin. But only because he was a wolf. "Hey folks. What can I get ya?"
A few moments later Jimi was still outside, just chilling out. He almost left entirely, but decided against it. He actually liked talking with Ed, and wanted to ask him about this new resident back home that Mel had almost literally taken in under his wing. At this point in time, Ed seemed to know more about Tunda than others. Jimi liked to know who came under his protection (in a way, he thought of all the residents of the Nullspace, even Iggy, as his to protect). The feline pokemon was especially timid and he didn't want to scare him away with some dumbass comment.
So a little while later, he came in and sat down at the bar. He spared the cats a glance and a slight nod.
"What'll ya have, Jimi?" the wolf slouched over the counter near the karkadann.
"You know me. Whatever you're trying to get rid of, I guess. It's all the same to me." It was true. He could drink any alcohol and never get drunk; it always turned to water.
"All right, well... let's see..." The wolf paced his rainbow wall of bottles and found one that was getting low. He had no idea how old it was... He poured out a peridot-green liquid. "Hm, looks like you're having absinthe tonight."
(( And... apparently absinthe is now legal in the US, where I live, as I saw it for sale at the liquor store the other day. So Jimi gets absinthe. ))

((XD Kinda lost as to who all is interacting with who, aside from the two that do state Akito and Mayfly's names in their interactions. *chuckle* So, if I make a mistake, lemme know and I'll fix it, ne?))
Mayfly blinks, looking up at Keelin, tilting his head slightly at the pink the other wore, then shakes his head slightly. "Mayfly not sure why here..." He said in his odd way of speaking that normally made others give him funny looks. He couldn't help it, really, it was how he'd always talked. His tail twitches slightly, then he gives the smiling Keelin a somewhat shy, small smile.
Akito blinks at the sudden voice nearby. Looking up, he blinks again rapidly, taking in the other male's attire and name tag, then smiles slightly. "A headache is what I don't need. I... don't get out much. The presence of too many others sometimes causes me to have bad headaches." He takes a look around again, then back at Lambert. "This is... the first time I've ever been here, so, what would you recommend for a first timer?" He asks curiously, wings shifting slightly as he shifts to rest his chin on his propped up hands.

(( Sorry if I wrote that so badly. I was trying to order the chaos a bit, but I guess I failed. Um, Ignatius... isn't approaching anyone. He's waiting for them to come to him. Keelin is helping Mayfly. Lambert is pestering Akito. Carlos is trying to take on Joseph's party, followed by Adalaid. Because he's that energetic. Kallisto went to help Jedidiah. Ed is helping anyone who comes into the lounge (in back), and I think that was Keller and Caelen. Jimi is back there too, so after Ed served them, he spoke with Jimi. ))
Keelin blinked. That was probably the last thing he had expected to hear from someone, strange inflection or otherwise. He shifted his feet a little in mild confusion, which did nothing to change his helpful demeanor. "Well, er... are you hungry? Or thirsty? Most people come here to eat, or for the music. There isn't a band scheduled for tonight, though there's always the karaoke machine, if you like to sing..."
"Oh, well..." Lambert broke off and looked around. Then he leaned a little closer, speaking in a stage whisper. "It usually isn't this busy. And... loud. It's usually a lot quieter," he shrugged, "though it is dinnertime." He pursed his lips a little. What did he recommend? He liked junk food or anything he could hide in a pocket. Shrugging, he said, "Well I don't know what kinds of things you'd like, but whatever the chef cooks is always good. If I were you I'd go with something you know you'll like, then next time go for something that makes you curious." He tilted his head a little. "Oh yeah, we've got Inari's stash of tea... I've been told it's an excellent selection, so if you're into that kind of thing I say do it."

((lol S'alright. I just get easily confused. XD ))
Mayfly blinks again, tilting his head to the side in thought, then looks towards the seat Ignatius was sitting in. "Mayfly wonders... Who that is?" He asks, pointing in Ignatius' direction. "Mayfly feel strong pull in that direction."
Akito gives a small smile, then purses his lips in thought, tail swishing idly behind him. "Do you have any smoked salmon? If so, I guess I'll take that with some fried potatoes and cup of chai tea, if you have any?" He says, smiling again at Lambert.

(( Ooh. Thought it was me being confused... x_x; <3 ))
Keelin tilted his head curiously, but only as long as it took him to realize that Mayfly was his customer. He then followed his indication and smiled broadly at Mayfly once he saw Ignatius. "Oh, that's Ignatius, the Cat Alpha. Would you like to speak with him?"
Tea was the only part Lambert needed to hesitate on. Smoked salmon was a given, with so many cats around. "Yes, we have all of that. How would you like your potatoes? French-fried, shredded, cubed, coins...?"
(( All of those styles are fried at my house, so I'm sorry if I misunderstood what Akito meant. xD <3 ))

Mayfly fidgets slightly, debating on whether he should approach the alpha or not, then gives the smallest of nods, seeming to shrink in on himself as soon as he made the decision.
Akito thinks for a moment, then smiles. "Diced please? With bell peppers and jalapenos mixed in if it wouldn't be too much trouble?" He says, smiling brightly at Lambert as he hands the menu back to the other. He shifts his wings again, fanning them out slightly so that he could sit more comfortably in the chair.

(( Hrm, I just realized how badly I worded Keelin's last reply. I meant to say that it took him a moment to realize that Mayfly was referring to himself when he said "Mayfly." It took me a couple tries to figure out what I was talking about. Sorry about that! e.e; <3 ))
Keelin bobbed his head, a response vaguely mirroring Mayfly's nod. He grinned and crouched down so that he appeared almost to be peeking up over the tabletop at the other feline. "You know, he's really nice..." He peered up at Mayfly. "Would you like me to call him over, or would you like to go sit by him?"
"Ah-hah," the youthful monkey replied while jotting down the add-in onto the tablet he carried. "Everything is prepared at the time so those will be no trouble." When he was finished he glanced back up at Akito, watching the hybrid's wings for a moment. "I like your wings... the spots," he gestured vaguely with a faint smile. "I'll be back in a few minutes with your tea," he said abruptly and spun on a heel, headed back for the kitchen.

Mayfly fidgets for a moment, then gives the smallest of nods. "M-Mayfly would like to sit near Ignatius, if Ignatius wouldn't be upset at Mayfly....?"
Akito smiles again, then blinks at the others compliment. "Ah, thank you. I like your outfit." He said, tilting his head slightly at the others abrupt departure. 'Was it something I said...?' He wonders to himself.

"No, he would never be upset to sit next to you. He likes people." He held out his hand to Mayfly. "Please allow me to introduce the two of you, it would be my pleasure," he purred.
The monkey pulled out a teabag for Akito's cup. It was actually loose tea that had been measured out and packed by hand sometime this week. It seemed ridiculous to Lambert that anyone should be that obsessive for a place like this but he wasn't about to say anything, at least today. There were some things he wouldn't blurt out.
He returned to Akito's table with the cup and a pitcher of steaming-hot water. In training, he had been taught that it was safer (and the practice, actually) to pour it at the table.
"Here you go," he said brightly, smiling. He was going to ignore the compliment because it didn't mean anything and he shouldn't have said something like that to the customer in the first place. He just had little concept of the term "professional," though he was trying.

Mayfly shyly takes Keelin's hand, his tail fuzzing up slightly due to how nervous he was at meeting his alpha for the first time.
Akito smiles gratefully and purrs slightly as the smell of the tea reached his nose. "Mmmm... It smells wonderful. Whoever made this or packaged it certainly knows what they're doing." He says, smiling again, then fidgets with his glasses again. "I thank you very much for the tea, by the way."
