So I am have been seriously thinking of pursuing a career in the music industry. Like seriously, since I can remember I have sung and played an instrument.But i wouldnt want to be some mainstream well known artist thats always on the radio. More indie-ish...
Anyways, to give you an idea of what I sound like
~ I have a similar voice to the lead singer of Lights
~ And I would play acoustic songs (i.e. November Blessing, The Scene Aesthetic, Nevershoutnever!)
Do you think you would be interested or think you would like my stuff?

I'd probably give it a shot. Kind of sounds like you'd have the singer of Circ's voice o: minus all the techno stuff.
Like mishy said I'm not a fan of female vocals unless it's japanese/some other language.

But you know... Haha. I really want to perform and I know female musicians dont really get alot of respect but I am willing to try it

I think I'm more likely to listen when I know the musician personally. My friends are in bands and I'll listen to them even if I think they can do better.

Ok. =D I read your lyrics and I can start by saying...don't only sing songs about love. Try some variety. You can make a parody of a song or sing about something you enjoy. There is a song that's about food and I thought it was cute. blaugh

one of them isnt about love
one is about how my parents hate me and always make fun of me and say i can do better than what i am
the other one is about how i had this bf who was my first everything and then one day he just left completely. he like disappeared and i have never seen him since
and the other one is just about me liking this guy

But the last two are still love based. Find variety in your lyrics is one suggestion for anyone really. A lot of songs that are released are on the subject of love. I'm personally tired of listening to a bunch of "she's too good for me" or "I messed up and she hates me etc."

When you're listening to music, listen closely to the lyrics. Find phrases that you like and get inspiration off of that or just words that sound interesting together like "summer salvation." You can use it btw. XD

Yeah you can use it.
Listen to different bands and listen to the lyrics. I write poems and that's how I get inspiration.

You can also look at photography and make a situation out of it. Like I saw one of a rainy day and I got a story and a poem out of it.
