In response to woolie's clever 'Siddurs' thread.
What Tallitot and Kippot do you like?

Tallit:
How lucky I am to find pictures of the same one I have on Google:

Tallit Clips:
None at the moment, working on that.

Tallit Bag:
Couldn't find anything just like mine on google, but this is close:

Kippot:
Given out at my Bar Mitzvah, courtest of Maya Works https://www.mayaworks.org/ :

I don't have any of those particular ones, as no two are alike, but you get the gist of it.

Kippah Clips:

A whole lot of these bad boys:

My parents have boxes of them.

What a nice collection! Sometimes I wish I could wear pretty, hippie looking kippot.

Okay, well, as a girl, I don't have any of the above but now I've a question, do you boys have to get special clips for Kippahs or can you just use normal ones?

As a girl I never wear a kippah.
My brother happens to wear a Breslov kippah which does not need a clip to stay on and my dad wears a Buchari (SP) kippah which also doesn't require a clip.

I have never thought of them as hippie. I would be offended if it weren't so true! whee And I actually love the thought of them as hippie kippot, thanks!

As a woman, I don't wear a kippah, but I do cover my head. I get most of my scarves from http://www.modestworld.com, http://www.shukronline.com, and http://www.tznius.com. I also have a couple of cute little 'newsboy' caps (traditional name: touring cap) that are large enough to hold my hair.

Also as a woman, I am exempt from the requirement to wear a tallit. Because people get up in arms about it, thinking I'm Reform or Conservative if I do wear one, I don't. I wish that I could, though, because I don't have a compelling reason not to wear one, only a fear of recrimination if I should wear a tallit and someone should see me wearing it.

Divash, I don't think that's a good enough reason. xD
IMO, a women wearing a tallis is a wonderful idea. I know two women who do at my shul.

When I visit a Conservative or Reform synagogue, I do wear a tallit. I wear one at home when I pray alone. But I don't do it at Orthodox synagogues (or my Sephardi synagogue) out of respect for the feelings of the rest of the congregation. My wearing a tallit would distract them from their prayers.
