Word Order
A sentence that is easy / Ip akam sesh A girl that is not little / Nalp syla lini A book that is difficult / Ip puko goka The girl reads the book / Syla pukun dulep The sentence reads the book / Akam pukun dulep The girl reads the sentence / Syla akanin dulep The easy book reads the difficult sentence / Puko seshti akam gokti dulep In the difficult book, the easy sentence is easily read by the little girl / Syla liniti akam seshti pukal gokti seshto dulep
The standard word order for Oggrish is similar to Latin, in that it is [Subject + (modifiers)] + [Direct Object + (modifiers)] + [Indirect Object + (modifiers)] + [(verb modifiers) + verb]. Sometimes, however, especially if the verb is a form of "to be", the word order changes so that the verb is in front of the subject, as is the case for "Ip akam sesh", "Nalp syla lini", and "Ip puko goka".
Modifiers
In a sentence that has "to be" at the beginning, a modifier only needs to use its root form, as in Ip puko goka. However, if the sentence is complex, or if the verb is at the end at all, the modifier must have the -ti ending to signify that it refers to the noun before it. Likewise, if a modifier modifies the verb, it must have the -to ending to signify that it refers to the verb after it. Therefore, it is easy to end up with a sentence like
Syla liniti akam liniti pukal liniti linito dulep / The little girl reads a little of the little build in the little book
VERBS
To Be - Ap (present tense)
I am - Lap You are - Gip He/She/It is - Ip We are - Lapta You are (pl) - Gipta They are - Ipta You are (fm) - Apta me*
To not be - Nal
I am not - Nalap You are not - Nalip He/She/It is not - Nalp We are not - Nalapta You are not - Nalipta They are not - Nalpta You (fm) are not - Nalta me*
To Read - Dulp
I read - Dulap You read - Dulip He/She/It reads - Dulep We read - Dulapta You (pl) read - Dulipta They read - Dulepta You (fm) read - Dulpta me*
*"me" is a particle that denotes formal speaking instead of the similar future construction for I Will, and is pronounced like May.
