Story

Welcome to Hinamori Boarding School for the Gifted, where everything seems normal and seemingly perfect. This school allows students grade five through twelve. All the students are above average in one subject whether it be academic, sports, music, or the ability to control their elemental gifts. Our goal, here at Hinamori is to provide an environment in which students’ physical and mental capacities may be expanded while receiving the aid needed in order to gain control of their elemental gifts and effectively learn to utilize them in combatant situations. Hinamori is in fact famous for teaching those who have the ability to control a given element. This of course means not all students who attend indeed have abilities, but those who shows the correct signs are invited to join this exceptional school. If, the student does happen to have exceptional skills in elemental control they may be invited to join 'The Court' a board of the top ranked students who attend Hinamori. 'The Court', sadly only has a few spots and to gain such an honor one must work extremely hard. We're sorry to inform you that this also means for those who do not develop abilities may not join 'The Court'. Because of this, we have heard rumors of students creating another club, otherwise known as 'The Black Knights.' This is allowed, but if any acts are committed that do not follow the code of conduct of the school, this club will be shut down and the students will be expelled. Thank you for Considering Hinamori for your choice in schools.

{ T h e. C o u r t } The Court is almost like a school student council. It brings up ideas and then allows everyone to vote. The Upper Court is the brains behind almost every activity and planned event. Being in The Court doesn’t just mean work or powers, but it also shows who is in fact the most skilled students in the school. Even though there is a big age difference between some of the students any student is allowed to join. The Court in school is almost like royalty and should be treated as such.

{ T h e. K n i g h t s } The Knights are a group of students either without powers or weren’t good enough to get into The Court. They are often mischievous finding ways to get back at The Court. They like messing things up and are often the troublemakers behind all the drama. Some of the members might have been able to get into The Court, but turned down the invitation. The Knights are really only a student run group that like to cause serious mayhem and chaos.
- On the second floor, there is a classroom next to the cafe that wasn't used. So the Black Knights normally gather there.

School Grounds

The grounds are fairly secluded, not near any residences or shopping areas; most supplies are delivered to the school through one particular company associated with several of the E.G. [ Elementally Gifted.]institutions, and the only method to the nearest town is commute by bus, which is only done on special occasions. Due to the secluded nature of its location, all faculty, staff, and students are required to live on campus.

The building is of stone, elegantly crafted yet nearly impenetrable. Once an enormous manor, it has undergone countless renovations to accommodate its purpose. It stands five stories high, with an accessible rooftop. The building has of course received access to electricity, and been equipped with fire alarms. Technology is utilized within the school, providing Internet access for research purposes (reasonable user filters are placed on the websites) word processing software, and data storage.

The floor plan is as follows;

-Ground floor:

[ + ] Admissions Office – All admissions, class registration, grade distribution, and student information is electronically input through a step-by-step, user-friendly, secure system. Thus, admissions consists of six standard computers on two long desks, with wooden dividers between each monitor for user privacy. A help-line telephone provides connection to one of the teachers or staff members in case of any questions.

[ + ] Cafeteria – Literally the only place to eat while attending the school, but its not so bad. The cafeteria is designed to accommodate roughly sixty people at round tables where eating-space is not cramped. There are three menus for each meal, posted based on availability, and selecting food is done through ordering, rather than an “assembly line”; students have three meal credits on their ID card per day, refreshed at the end of each day. Typically, there is also a small buffet on either side of the counters where breads, fruits, and salad can be selected; these are free and encouraged to be eaten with meals, as well as for a snack. The cafeteria also houses four vending machines: hot drinks, cold drinks, snacks, and ramen; these are paid for out of the student's pocket, but the prices are fairly reasonable.

[ + ] Headmaster’s Office and Quarters – [Postion has yet to be filled]

[ + ] Faculty Dormitories (10) – Each accommodates one staff member. Single bed, private bathroom.

-Second Floor:

[ + ] Instructional Classrooms (6) – Each of the instructional classrooms holds a traditional layout, and is outfitted and supplied with the materials necessary to the specific subject matter. These classes are visual arts, music composition, fire, earth, water, and air.

[ + ] Advisory Classrooms (4) – The advisory classrooms are more like large offices, providing comfortable seating and a workstation for no more than four people at a time. They are also outfitted with various materials regarding their subjects.

[ + ] Campus Shop – The campus shop offers a selection of school supplies and reading materials, as well as uniforms and living essentials (hair brushes, toothpaste, etc.)

[ + ] Laundry – Five Laundromat-sized washers and equally massive dryers allow all students and faculty to get their laundry done. Utilizing the machines is free of charge, and all detergent and fabric-softener dispensers are built it; the correct amounts and types are determined by easy-to-use settings, so even the laundry-illiterate won’t ruin their clothes.

-Third Floor:

[ + ] Student Dormitories (15) – Each dorm accommodates two students: two single beds and bedside stands, with lamps, two desks with a computer to each, and a single round table with two chairs. Each room has a closet with considerable space (a divider allows for separation of belongings, and a two-drawer dresser in the bottom of each side provides a place to put things that can’t be hung up), as well as a private bathroom to be shared between the two roommates. There is also a curtain secured against the wall between the two beds that can be spread out to provide privacy, if needed. Court members have their own rooms.

[ + ] Teacher Dormitories (15) – Each dorm accommodates one instructor: a single bed, beside table with lamp, bookshelf, desk with a computer, closet, and private bathroom.

-Fourth Floor:

[ + ] Combat Advisory Classrooms (5) - Similar to the other advisory classrooms, these are like large offices that comfortably seat no more than four people, and are equipped with various tools and documents relevant to specified subjects. All combat instruction is carried out on the training hall, or outside.

[ + ] Library – A vast wealth of knowledge fit into a considerably small space. The bookshelves run floor to ceiling, and the volumes are separated by subject for nonfiction and author for fiction. There are a few recliners to sit down in and browse over your choice, but it is more recommended to return to your room with it.

[ + ] Infirmary – Any student who gets sick or injured should visit the infirmary for treatment, and all students should stop by twice a year for a routine exam.

-Fifth Floor:

[ + ] Sparring Room/Arena – For practiced sparring and, during special school events, competitions. The arena is pretty much a wide, empty area with a padded floor and walls, and pull-out bleachers.

[ + ] Training hall – Separated into two parts, one smaller one for individual practices, and a larger one for classroom instruction. The training hall also has padded floors, and to the side is the storage-room with a vast variety of equipment, as well as the weapon lockers, where all students are required to store their weapons when not in use. The larger portion of the training hall is open to individual practices after class hours.

-Rooftop:

[ + ] Just a flat, empty place to go up and unwind or read a book.

-Miscellaneous:

[ + ] The staircases are contained within a separate little area that is appended directly to the main hall of every floor.

Rules

Activity - Because I don't want the role play to die, members are going to be expected to post at least four times a week. This is a longterm role play and I want it to last for as long as possible. If you're going to be away or cannot post for a while, please PM one of the hosts of the role play. If you are waiting for someone to reply to your post, post in the OoC thread while you wait. You can get to know the other members that way and at least we'll all know that you're still alive.
Character - People aren't perfect and neither will the characters in this role play. Your character must have some flaws. Everything is a lot more interesting that way then having characters that are super nice and always friendly and smart. But that doesn't mean that you should make a character that is always going to be crying throughout the whole role play or something like that. Be creative and have a unique character. It gets boring if every character is just like the other. Girls may play guys and vise versa. You may create more then one character. But you may not play more then one position in the Upper Court, 2 in the Lower Court, and 2 in the Black Knights just so one person isn't role playing most of the big positions.
Fun - Feel free to add a little drama and even chaos to the role play. That is always loved. We want you to have fun here and for that to happen, we need everyone to be respected. Do go lamming each others posts and make sure to include others. If someone if role playing alone, try to role play with them and for those of you who are role playing alone, try to get in on a conversation with the other members. We need you to put out an effort as well.
Joining - To join Hinamori Boarding School for the Gifted please fill out a profile skeleton and then PM it to me. If you have any questions or anything, feel free to PM me and don't be afraid to reserve a spot if you want.
Literacy - One-liners will not be allowed even when you have a writer's block I demand at least a paragraph if not more. Be at least semi-lit. Post in past tense and in third person. Type out your words and use complete sentences. Do not use chat speak. Capitalize when necessary and use punctuation and all that good stuff. People make mistakes so don't worry you have a few typos here and there . So as long as your post in understandable, then it shouldn't be a problem. Try to reread your post or use spell check, it really helps.
Post - In posts, you are allowed to cuss as much as you want as long as it's not every other word or something like that. Do not make quote towers. They stretch the page and it looks really messy. If you plan to type OoC in this thread, make sure you have some sort of brackets to indicate it. (Ex. {{}}, [[]], (()), or something like that.). Feel free to pretty up your posts however you want.
Ratings - Romance is allowed but make sure it doesn't go above PG13. So that also means that there will be no cybering. Fighting and violence is also allowed but don't have yours characters bickering in every single post. Killing characters isn't allowed though just because it doesn't exactly fit with the role play. Make sure you follow the ToS.
More rules may be added at any time. So make sure you check back here.

All the Court Postions And School Rules

Postions.
{ K i n g } - The Prince is supposed to be the most skilled student at the school. He has the highest grades and he's the one with the most authority. The Prince has the most say in most things and does a lot of things behind the scenes. He has such a big influence that the school is almost basically run by him. He is the one who plans most of the school events and things like that.

{ Q u e e n } - The Queen has the second most authority at the school. Her skills are pretty much on the same level as the Prince's. Her roles are pretty much the same as the Prince. She helps the Prince out with a lot of stuff and is like his assistant.

{ J a c k } - The Jack is one level behind the Queen. His skills and grades are just one step behind hers. He has a lot of authority as well and help out in what goes on in the school.

{ A c e } - The Ace is pretty much on the same level as the Jack. There really isn't much difference between them besides for their Titles. They do pretty much the same things and are pretty much equal academically.

{ J o k e r } - The Joker is like the Ace and the Joker. The Joker's on the same level as the other two. The person with this position is sort of like the Class Clown of the group or comic relief. This person is a joker--court jester.

The numbers are ranked as they are listed. They are also members of the Court but they don't have as much authority as the Upper Court members. The members of the Lower Court have to work really hard to keep their positions. Their main role in the Court is to make sure people around the school stay in order and they also get to vote when meetings come up.
{ 1 0 }
{ 9 }
{ 8 }
{ 7 }
{ 6 }
{ 5 }
{ 4 }
{ 3 }
{ 2 }

{ K i n g } - The King is the leader of the Black Knights. He is the one who plans most of the things that the Black Knights do and is the mastermind behind most of the trouble they try to cause. He has a serious grudge against the Court and is skilled enough to become a member of the Court but has turned down an invitation.

{ Q u e e n } - The Queen has the second most authority in the Black Knights. She is the King's assistant and helps him out. (Like how the Hime helps the Prince.) The Queen is also skilled enough to become a Court member but turned down an invitation.

{ R o o k } - The Rooks are right behind the Queen of the Black Knights.

{ B i s h o p } - The Bishops are on the same level as the Rooks and Knights but their roles are a bit different. The Bishops are the intelligent ones in the group who are cunning and very quick thinkers. They're normally the ones to get the Black Knight members out of trouble by thinking of good excuses. But they aren't as loyal as the Rooks and Knights. They side with the ones who have the best deal and whichever side with the most merit.

{ K n i g h t } - The Knights are the ones who cause the most chaos at the school. They are always up for a competition and a are very, very loyal to the Black Knights and very protective. They're like the bodyguards.

{ P a w n s } - The Pawns are like the lackeys. they carry out most of the plans of the Black Knights. (They're like the soldiers in a way.) Some of them go around to try and get others to go against the Court. The Pawns look up to the other Black Knight members though some of them might not be the most loyal people.

School Rules

[+] All students are required to wear uniforms during class hours.
Upper and Lower Court Members wear black uniforms.
And Non-Court members wear white uniforms.

[+] All fighting in strictly for the sparring hall or outside, and will not be tolerated in the classrooms or hallways.

[+] No more than 2 students may live in a dorm.

[+] Students are highly recommended to have their identification cards on them at all times, as the card is needed to receive meals in the cafeteria and access the weapon lockers. The card also has the code for the student's access to his or her computer user name printed on the back.

[+] All students must store any weapon in weapon lockers inside the training hall unless the weapon is being used in training or a match. Any violations will result in confiscation of the weapon.

Club Rules Apply to Everyone.

[+]All students will adress the Court members respectfully.
{ The King } will be adressed as { Prince }
{ The Queen } will be adressed as{ Hime }
{ The Jack, Ace & the Joker } will be adressed as { [blank]-Senpai }

[+] ALL members must be polite and have good manners.

[+] All drugs and alcohol are not allowed and will result in being removed from the club.

[+] What the Upper Court says is law.

Sparring Rules

[+] All matches must be refereed by a third party

[+] Matches are intended to improve yourself, not decimate your partner. Injuries will occur, but do your best to prevent anything major.

[+] A match must be decided before beginning if it is to be armed or unarmed

[+] Instructor-refereed sparring rewards merit badges for visible improvements, impressive tactics, and good techniques. Merit badges are worn on a student’s collar or necktie – at least one is needed to participate in an Arena (all students start off with no badges, and must earn them)

[+] Match winners are decided based upon the 4, 8, and 12 point systems. Matches exist as single units, rather than groups of three. Points are rewarded in two fashions:
- In unarmed matches, one point is rewarded every time a blow connects to the head, stomach, side, or neck.

- In armed matches, a point is rewarded for the same connections, but also for any wound that draws blood anywhere but the hands, arms, and feet. Amount of blood is irrelevant and players are asked to inflict only minor scrapes and cuts in these cases. No bonuses are rewarded for excessively injuring an opponent. Previously existing wounds are noted before each match, and can not reward points for being re-inflicted.

[+] Elements are only to be utilized in defensive, enhancement, or restraining methods. No directly damaging attacks,

[+] If, at the end of a match, your partner is too injured to get themselves to the infirmary, or if you are simply concerned about their injuries, you must help them to the infirmary.

Academics, Elementals, and Combat

[>] There are four main academic courses of study: sciences, arithmetic, core-language, and history. Placement in all courses is decided by a computerized test at the beginning of every semester. All instruction is computer-provided, allowing the students to work at their own pace. Any complications can be inquired about in the advisory classroom relevant to the subject; the advisory teachers give individual or small-group instruction and tutoring.

[>] There are two elective studies, a visual arts course and a music composition course. Both are in instructional classrooms on the second floor.

[>] There are four elemental classes, and as each student only has the ability of a single element, they can only be allotted to a single class. The four elemental classes are fire, earth, wind, and water, and instruction, which takes place on the second floor, focuses on basic control, manipulation, offensive, and defensive techniques.

[>] There are five combat classes, all of which are instructed in the training hall and advised in the individual classrooms on the fourth floor. The subjects covered are defense, physical conditioning, archery, unarmed offense, and weapon specialization.

[>] Grades rewarded in the six academic subjects are letter based and presented to the student through the computers

[>] Grades rewarded for elemental and combat performances are given face-to-face each time the student performs in class (not every student participates in every class, sometimes they merely observe) From best to worst, the grades are Superior, Impressive, Substantial, Average, Below Expectations, Minimal, and Incompetent.

Misa finally turned the last page of the book she was reading, her blue grey eyes devouring the words at a rapid pace. A small smile curved her lips upward as she finished the tale, the fate of the hero now known, and she gently placed the hardcover book on the small bedside table, giving it a friendly pat on it cover, as if it were the hand of a dear old friend. Uncurling from her position within her nest of pillows, she stretched out her cramped muscles, and slid off her bed in a graceful fluid motion. It was a happy ending after all. I'm glad. She thought as she smoothed out her black skirt, and straightened out the rest of her uniform. Misa thought about books way too often, and ever since she could read, she developed a habit of daydreaming about living in a fantasy world like the ones the characters she read about lived in. She was always scolded by her father and tutors for having her head up in the clouds all the time when instead she could be filling her head with much more factual knowledge.

Glancing at the mirror on her dresser, she rearranged her tie and double checked her appearance critically. She tilted her head from side to side as if trying to find a better angle to view herself with but no matter how she looked at herself the image didn't change. All she saw was a double of herself, a petite teenage girl with a dancers lean body, short black hair framing a pale heart shaped face with long child like lashes that framed her blue grey eyes.

"I look like a child playing dress up in her older sister's clothes." She sighed exasperated with her appearance. "But I suppose it can't be helped. You've got the figure of a child anyway." She told her reflection scowling darkly at it, before turning her back on mirror. She was always careful about how others perceived her after all she was the Ace of the Upper Court, so she made sure her appearance was immaculate, before she slipped out of her dorm room. As soon as she was out of the privacy of her room her mask of apathy fell into place, as did the demure smile that never reached her eyes. Glancing about her surroundings and seeing that nothing that demanded her attention was going on, the young girl decided to head to the library on the fourth floor and discover more books that she had not yet have the pleasure of reading.

Aurelia sat on the cold floor of the rooftop of the school, looking out at the afternoon sun. Tilting her head towards the sun's rays she basked in its warmth, liking the warmth of the sun creeping on her face. Sighing with content she straightened out her skirt and brushed her hair back. Nothing like relaxing on a day like this... Aurelia decided to savor this moment of peace, knowing that this time was somewhat of a blessing, being the Queen of the Court and all...

I wonder what kind of book I should read next? Misa wondered completely lost in thought as she made a bee line for the stairs that would lead her to the next floor where the library was. Perhaps a mystery novel? Or a action story? Oh, maybe a romantic novel...So many choices to make... While Misa was bouncing around ideas in her head, her feet were on auto pilot and led her straight to the doors of the library.

As Misa pushed open the heavy wooden double doors of the library a small smile appeared on her lips at the sight of the beloved library. Her greyish blue eyes gazed at the walls of shelves lined with the words that could transport her anywhere she wished without stepping a foot out of the room. She sighed as if in love as she wandered the maze of shelves, her small delicate hands tracing over the spines of the books, as she decided on what she should read. Several minutes later she seated herself in the lone alcove by a arched window she had declared hers, it allowed her a good view of the front entrance of the school and the spacious front yard. Curling up into the cushions of the couch she was sitting on, she placed the heavy historic novel on her lap and began to read, her grey blue eyes carefully scanning the first page.

Sebastian stood by the window. Gazing out across the school grounds. He examined every inch of what he considered his "kingdom." He began to chuckle at himself, it was always his dream to have a kingdom.

What a fine day to be King of the Court he thought before stepping back, making his way through school building and out into the grounds. He wandered for a while before finding a quiet place to sit. It was by a large tree. He leaned agaisnt the tree and slid down to the grass. The tranquility cause a wave of calm to wash over him. He dug into his jacket and removed from it a small, blue book. Opening it to his most recent chapter he began to read. He read for five minutes before placing the book to his side and attempting to create a water ball in his hand. To do this he cupped his hands and willed the water to appear, which he did successfully, then he had to shape the water into a ball of sorts and try to get it to hold that shape. He hoped he could master this skill as with it he could use it learn to freeze the water that he controls. He did enjoy learning new things, broadening his horizons and increasing his intelligence bank.

After many failed attempts at this new skill he decided to leave it, lest he wake up his temper, for everyone knew what would happen if the firey beast that slept within him awoke. He laughed, mainly at the fact he had just called his temper 'firey. "Oh the irony..." He muttered, returning to his book.

((Sorry for the bad intro. I thought I'd get it done though. xD))

An hour had passed by before Misa looked up from her book to relieve her eyes from the tiny text in the book. It's like looking at ants from afar...What's the point of typing tiny anyway, it doesn't make someone want to read it more. She thought grumbling as she rubbed her eyes, before looking out the courtyard. As her eyes wandered among the school grounds, her sharp eyes focused in on a familiar blue haired figure whose face was partially obscured by a book held up to his face. It's the King. Wonder what he's reading? She briefly mused before turning her attention back on her own book.
