This is a story I started about a year or so ago. So be aware that my grammar and format are not as good as they are now. If you bear with me, you'll find how much I've improved!xD
Anywho, This is a story I'm very fond of and still working on. I hope you guys like it!
Oh, This is written from the view of two people, so I will each post will only have one person's view.

+The World After+

Here on Earth many people believe that when you die your soul is automatically sent to Heaven or Hell. But those claims would be wrong. When you die you enter a world that is meant for the newly deceased. They live there for about a month so the Gods and Demons can have time to decide where you go. Usually the soul would wander around in this world and make fatal mistakes or find the better way. By doing this they can increase their chances to go to Heaven or to Hell. Some make it to the Reaper himself and he gets to decide the souls fate. Although, sometimes the soul becomes ’attached’ to the Reaper and they break certain rules to stay together. But this has only happened once before and the Gods and Demons were able to break the attachment. After that the Reaper promised to never love again and he kept the promise many a millennia. But what happens when he finds his old lovers reincarnation?

+Prelude+
~Sara~

Sara awoke to a blaring alarm clock and she nearly smashed the snooze button. She slowly opened her deep green/hazel eyes to find herself smothered in sheets, blankets, and a few pillows. Pushing and pulling the sheets, she tried to find an opening. Falling over the beds edge her sheets and blankets unfolded and the pillows flew out of the cloths grasp. She sat up and looked at her small panda clock. “8:45...”, she said in a haze before her eyes went wide and she jumped to her feet.
“Late, Late, I’m so late!”, Sara exclaimed as she ran out of her home and out into the cool morning air. Her blue and white school outfit rustled around her as she ran at top speed. Her dirty blonde hair flowing behind her.
As she neared one of her usual turns, she didn’t slow a bit. She hit the turn and fell to the ground from loosing momentum.
Since it was Monday and her neighborhood was usually empty at this time, no one saw Sara’s sprawled body on the concrete sidewalk as blood spewed from her head. When she fell to the ground her head hit the concrete hard and had cracked her skull. No one would find her until maybe noon. By that time she would die from blood loss.
As Sara’s breathing slowed and her heart beat faintly there, she found herself in a hazy, fog filled wood. When the fog lifted and the haze disappeared, Sara’s body was nothing, but a body and her soul had entered The World After.

+Day 1+
~Sara~

Sara closed her eyes and shook her head lightly. When she opened her eyes she saw lush, deep green trees scattered everywhere. Soft, light green grass without flaw was right under her hands and she thought she was dreaming. She stood up and found herself in her favorite clothes.(Which happens to be these awesome cloths she had never owned! HA!) Her school uniform was nowhere to be found and no one else was around.
After deciding to wander around she came upon a girl about the same age as her. “Excuse me.”, she said politely as she gently tapped her shoulder. The girl turned around and looked at Sara. She noticed Sara’s confused expression and asked, ”Are you new?”
Sara’s eyes went wide as this girl seemed to read her mind. She nodded and said, ”I guess. Where am I? What is this place? What happened to my cloths?” All the questions spluttered out of her mouth and she couldn’t control herself.
The girl gave a chuckle and said, ”Calm down. Breath in. Then out. Now, first off, my name is Josie. Second, we are in a world were the newly deceased live while they wait for judgment. Which means the Gods and Demons count up your good and bad actions and see if you go to Heaven or Hell. Although, while you’re here you can make up for sins or…well make too many. It’s weird. Oh, and when you wake up here the Gods decide to try and make you feel more comforted by granting you your favorite cloths.”
Josie stood there with a wide grin on her face as Sara stared at her in shock. She watched as Sara’s expression went from shock to extreme sadness. Josie frowned, which was very unusual, and she asked, “What’s wrong?”
Sara looked at Josie with tears in her eyes and exclaimed, “I’M DEAD!! That’s what’s wrong!” She slid to the ground as her tears rolled down her cheeks. She couldn’t believe it. She was dead. At only sixteen.
Josie looked at Sara’s crumpled form and put on her perky smile. “Don’t worry. Being dead isn’t that bad. Unless you did something very bad. Did you do anything very bad?”, Josie asked with a cheery tone.
Sara looked up as tears still streamed down her face. It took her a while to process what Josie had said, but then replied, ”No. Not that I can think of. What happens if you do something really bad?” She couldn’t understand Josie at all. She was perky and happy it was kinda scary. But it seemed that she would be stuck with Josie for awhile so she pushed away the scariness that was showered on her from the happiness.
As Josie watched Sara calm down she said, ”That’s good! This means you won’t be stuck here!” She swayed back and forth, from heel to toe, as the breeze came by. Her long, lavender skirt flowed as it were water in the breeze. It was about now that Sara actually looked at Josie.
She had a short, dark purple shirt along with the long, lavender skirt. The skirt had dark purple trim on both the top and bottom and the top trim turned into a sash at one end. Her hair was an extremely dark brown and long enough to touch just above her ankles. As for her eyes they were very unusual. They were a perfect blend of purple and blue and shined as if they were crystals. ’Wow. She’s really obsessed with purple.’, Sara thought to herself as she realized Josie hadn’t answered her question. “Josie? You haven’t answered my question. Why?”, she asked wondering why the perky young woman hadn’t answered.
Josie twirled around, giggling, as the wind caressed her. She stopped twirling as Sara had asked her why she hadn’t answered the question. She was a bit dizzy and teetered for a moment. When she found her balance she looked at Sara with her usual wide grin and said, ”Well, I don’t like that question, but in my job I have to answer all your questions. So, if you do something really bad you end up living here for all eternity and working as either a guide or a Watcher.”
Sara looked at Josie with suspicion and was about to ask if Josie had done something bad because she said she had a job. And from what she had gathered Josie had a job here.

~*~

After a moment of awkward silence Sara wiped away her tears and stood up. She looked around and asked, ”What’s a Watcher?” The job name had baffled her, but she had some idea what it was. It was probably exactly what the name suggested or it was something very complicated. She decided to go with the simple idea, although she had a feeling she was wrong.
Josie was twirling around again as Sara asked the question. She had spun so many times she was a few feet away from Sara. She stopped twirling and walked drunkenly to Sara.(Or at least that’s how it looked.) “Oh, a Watcher is exactly what the title says. They are the people that watch newly dead that can’t be assigned to a guide. So for the time being the Watchers make sure they don’t do anything severely stupid.”, Josie said as she found her balance. Again. She looked up at the sky and said, ”Oh, let me show you the area before I have to go.”
Sara was going to ask where Josie was going, but was whisked away before she could say a word.
With her arm outstretched Sara followed Josie as she learned about the gardens, the restaurants(yes, The world after has restaurants.), her apartment building, and the Cave of Curiosity. She stared at the cave, wanting to enter it. It had an eerie glow of red and looked something like a haunted house, but in cave form with many tunnels going every which way.
Josie pulled her along as she came up to a great, shining Mansion. “And this is the home of the Gods and Demons! This is where you will learn your place and where everything is so shiny!”, Josie said with a stupid grin of excitement. She looked at the sky again and let go of Sara’s wrist(which was red now from Josie’s grip.) “I have to go. If you need me, just call! My number is by you apartment phone.”, she said as she walked towards the mansion. She stopped and turned and said seriously, but with her usual grin, ”Do NOT Go In The Cave of Curiosity! Bad things have happened there and I don’t want anything bad happening to you.” Her face went straight for second as she watched Sara’s expression become a little frightened. She gave a giggle and smiled again. “Bye!”, she said as she finally left Sara’s side.

+Day 1+
~The Reaper/Spencer~

“You are to be sent to Hell. The actions you have shown me are unacceptable and sinful.”, a voice commanded to a young man kneeling on the floor.
“B-but, I…. I can’t. I don’t want to!! Please, Reaper. Spare me!!!”, the young man begged as tears flowed from his eyes.
The Reaper, who was sitting upon a chair made of bones, watched the man beg and plead. His expression was emotionless and his eyes showed no mercy. He waved his hand and pair of skeleton guards dragged the man to his unfortunate fall to Hell.
As the Reaper watched he sighed in slight boredom and leaned against the back rest. He stared down the empty tunnel wondering if the man had brought anyone else with him. As a few minutes passed it seemed he hadn’t or his unfortunate fate scared them off. He looked to his guards and waved them away(which actually meant just standing by the entrance of his tunnel and waiting for him to get back from his personal quarters.) He walked to his room and closed the ebony door behind him. He drifted to his mirror and stared at his reflection. It showed a man about five nine with deathly pale skin and long jet black hair that was tied up. The eyes were almost as white as the area around the iris, but you could never tell. He had a dark black ring around his iris which made it look a darker grey then it actually was. He moved away from the face and to the thin, malnourished body. Long, dark, torn robes covered it. Making it look less thin then it was. At the ends of the robes, blood splatter was visible from all the bodies that had died a painful death at his feet. Underneath the robes it was almost nothing, but skin and bones. You could see the ribs and spine quite clear. The hands were slightly bony. Although, you could still see a human in the almost skeletal body. It was clinging to life and desperately trying to stay away from becoming what it’s father had become. The Reaper looked away from the mirror in disgust. The man he saw was not his reflection. At least that’s what he believed. He did not want to be that man anymore. He did not want to Spencer. He was the Reaper and that was that.
He moved to his bed and sat heavily. He put his hands to his face as he closed his eyes and then moved them up through his hair. He sat for moment like that and tried to clear his heavy mind. He hated being Spencer, but he couldn’t get rid of him. In some things he agreed with Spencer. He opened his eyes to see a picture on his wall. It was torn at some parts as if in anger, but then taped together as if the torn pieces were an accident. He looked away and laid back on his black satin sheets and stared at the ceiling tired, but restless.
“Why must I be this monster?”, he asked to the dark before finding sleep after an hour and a half of staring at the ceiling.

+Day 1+
~Sara~

Sara stood in front of the apartment building desk, where a young woman was chatting on the phone with no end in sight. Sara sighed and wrote on a piece of paper, ’I need a room, please.’
The woman looked at the paper and grunted. She told the person on the other end of the conversation that she’d call them back and looked at Sara. “What’s your name kid?”, she said in a snotty-type voice.
“Sara. Sara Wright.”, Sara replied with a very shy tone. She fiddled with the end of her black/grey/red plaid skirt as the woman typed a few things on her computer.
The woman hummed slightly as she looked at the screen looking for something. “Ah. Here you are. Your room is on the third floor. Number 666.”, the woman said quickly. Then as she processed her words her eyes widened and she said, ”OMG You got room 666?! That room hasn’t been used in forev!”
Sara stared at the woman as she seemed to freak at the number. Sara was completely fine with it, but didn’t understand why people would go bizerk like that at a number. “Can I please just get my card?”, she asked politely as she pulled her hands up to the edge of the desk.
The woman stared at Sara as if she was crazy and then her expression changed to snooty. She made the preppy ‘humph’ noise and made an electronic card for Sara. “There. Take your card and enter the Devil’s room.”, she said with a hint of anger as if Sara had been in a verbal fight with her.
Sara took the card and headed for the elevator. She stepped in and pushed the number three. It lit up in a beautiful blue glow as the silver doors closed. Sara sighed as the elevator moved up and wondered why the woman was so mean. It was like being back in high school. She shook the thought as the elevator made a soft ‘ding’ and the doors opened. She walked into the hall and found each door was a different color. A few reminded her of Josie as they shown brightly in neon colors. She walked past them and found her door. It was a deep black with crimson cherry blossoms on it. She smiled slightly at it as it was exactly like her door at home.
Sara slid the card into the matching card slot and a green light lit up. She opened the door and walked into the dark room. The door closed behind her and she searched for a light switch. She frowned as none seemed to show up. “Stupid hotel. They have no lights-”, as she said the last word a couple dozen candles lit up and showed the room in a soft glow. She blinked and looked at the room in confusion for a second. The bed looked very inviting in it’s silky crimson and black bed spread. She walked over to it and sat down. She looked around and found a nice black radio, a plasma screen T.V. on the wall, a small dresser underneath the T.V., and a few bags.
Her eyebrows furrowed as she looked at them. She slid over to them and opened one up. It was filled with clothes. Most of which she had at home and some she had whished she had. There were even a few she was going to buy. She was amazed at the sight and sat up. It had to be the weirdest thing she’d ever seen. ‘How can they know everything?!’, she thought as she looked towards the window.

As Josie’s meeting ended she skipped out of the shining Mansion and pulled her cell phone out. She pushed a speed-dial number and waited.
Sara’s hotel phone rang as she was putting cloths in the dresser. She stood up and walked over to the phone. She was a bit nervous as she picked it up and said in a slightly shaky voice, ”Hello?”
Josie squealed as Sara answered the phone. “Hiya! It’s me, Josie! Wow! Most people don’t answer their phone on the first call. Congrats! Anyway, I just got out of my meeting and I was hoping you’d want to have dinner with me!” Josie was getting ahead of herself again as she asked Sara to go out with her. She knew it was probably going to be a no, but thought it polite to ask anyway.
Sara stood in her room with the phone to her ear in silence. She wasn’t hungry and didn’t feel like being around the happy-go-lucky girl again. Well, at least not yet. She took a breath, found her voice, and said,” uhhh… No thanks. I just want to be alone right now to figure things out. Okay?” Sara didn’t want to sound mean or anything, so she said it as politely as she could.
Josie frowned slightly, but said, ”Okay. Maybe we can have breakfast or lunch tomorrow. Depending on how long you sleep.” She gave a small giggle then said, ”Well, Later.” and hung up.
“Bye.”, Sara muttered before Josie hung up. She held the phone for awhile longer then put it down. She took a breath and held it for a few seconds. She still couldn’t believe she was dead and yet she wasn’t at home anymore. Or on Earth for that matter. She sat on her bed again and fell backwards onto the silk sheets. She started to cry as the truth sunk in and she curled up. After about an hour or two, Sara cried herself to sleep at the end of the bed, curled up like a cat.
