The sun didn't appear to be feeling very merciful today, the heat was nearly unbearable. Granted it was always hot, this was another level of hot. He thanked the gods that he had been granted with a his father's pelt more than his mother's. He wasn't sure he would be able to last in the desert with her dark, black pelt. Even now with the small bits of black and the dark red were a toll on his small body.
He knew however that in time, he would grow accustom to the heat, as he was learning to everything else. He had recently gotten used to the sudden increase in members from the former traditionalists.
A part of him was suspicious that they suddenly decided to 'reform' and join the 'rebels', but he was still young and he figured that as long as they weren't causing trouble, then they weren't a problem. Besides that one Safi female he had met...what was her name?
Ah! Yes, it was Kenina. He was glad that she had followed her family and moved. Although she disrupted his daily plans whenever they came across each other he enjoyed her company for the most part. She was intelligent and as such, enjoyable to talk to, most of the time.
It was refreshing to have someone to have debates with.
Now Xipil wasn't entirely sure of what he was doing, he planned on training himself, working his body out to prepare himself for the time when he found the right soldier to apprentice under. He knew his time was running out but still, he needed what time he had to figure it out.
"Where to train...where to train..." He mused aloud.

Tezo was brought out of her moody thoughts by another lion's voice nearby her shady spot. Opening one green eye fully she looked around until she spotted a lion about her age, only bigger because he was a male and born into the pride. She could tell by his build, she always felt a little inferior to those who were born into the Firekin, knowing she would never be quite as big as them. Luckily for her her father had been large for a rogue, so she wasn't as small as she could be, but still she didn't quite compare to pure blooded desert lions. Her thoughts shifted and for a moment she couldn't help but wonder how her father and sisters were doing, she didn't regret being taken by her mother one bit, but she did miss them sometimes. It had been nice to have a big family around her for the short period of time it had lasted.
Shaking her head she pushed herself up to her paws, she decided she'd bother this lion who she heard to distract herself from the small pang of home sickness she had. Stepping out from the meager shade she cringed the sun's heat unmerciful to her dark coat. She stepped quickly, the sands were hot as well, but quietly half crouched. Sneaking up behind him she shifted her weight before throwing herself at him. The two bodies tumbled head over paws and she ended up on top of the boy, paws pinning him to the sand, head tilted as she stared down at him. "What're you training for?"
