Story Welcome to a world torn by wars. And not by any wars. But by wars raged on the creatures of nightmares. Creatures people not always used to believe in. Creatures such as the vampires and werewolves. Not all of them are against the humans, however. The avians and nymphs are on the side of the humans, who have always been their allies.
It all began with the death of the avian's queen, Queen Mai, seven years ago. When the humans investigated, it was found that she had died by the hands of a vampire.
Because of the hatred between the races, a war broke out. There still remained the borders of the four main kingdoms: Tair, Shcorall, Hui, and Miurann. Each of these was ruled by a different race, in order: The Humans, the nymphs, the avians, and the vampires. Were-people are the servants of vampires, deeming them lesser and not fit for their own lands. However, this is one aspect that the Light side--the Humans--fought against. The freedom and equality of all common people.
Now the time comes where the lands are cloaked with clouds and storms, ladened with death and sorrows, and raised in fighting now resigned mainly to streets of the cities. It is not uncommon to find disguised creatures lurking in the dark corners of the towns.
The King of Tair is tiring of war now, however, and all are startled to find that he has a plan. His plan: to give his only daughter to the king of the vampires.
And so, with the hope of newfound peace, the princess is led off with her guard of twenty soldiers--humans, nymphs, and avians alike--with a treaty in hand and her pride underfoot. She would do all she could to save her people.
Now is the time to fight, or to end the war. But will the creator of the storms be found? Who is really behind this war?

-King Jillian Leinn-
Open Age: 43
Appearance/History: He is tall and thin. Jillian has short, golden hair, tanned skin, green eyes, and a scar across his left eyebrow. He was born into the royal family and was the only son. His marriage with Elle was arranged, so he has no problem with arranging his daughter's marriage.
-Queen Elle-
Magnificent Dustmop Age: 41
Appearance/History: Elle is quiet and shy around all but her husband and daughter. She has black hair in natural ringlets to her elbows and crystal blue eyes. She hates the vampires for killing her father when she was 12. At one point, she also hated Jillian, but then she learned to love him.
-Princess Kara-
Gabbia Age: 18
Appearance/History: Kara is only 5'1", nine inches shorter than her father. She has fair skin, golden hair that waves down to her wrists, and green eyes. Kara has a deeply hidden past and she is compelled to do as her father deems fit for the kingdom.
Avians:
-King Torr-
Open Age: 45
Appearance/History: Torr is an old friend of Jillian, but has his doubts at times when it comes to the nymphs, who have no ruler at the time. He is 6'2" and has brown wings, brown hair, and golden eyes, with copper skin. Little about his past is known.
Nymphs:
-King Toushirou Tsukishiro-
Lucifers Wraith
Age: 19
Race: 1/2 Water Nymph, 1/2 Wind/Air Nymph
Power: Water and Wind control, and is able to combine them into ice
Appearance/History: Toushirou was always a silent child, though he was friendly with all who took the time to pay him any attention. His parents died when he was really little, leaving the kingdom of the nymphs without a ruler. He has been raised to serve as ruler when he came of age, learning all the necessary skills and knowledge needed to rule. He is usually serious and rarely has any free time, so he has a childish side that he shows when he's around what few friends he is able to make. The human princess, who is a year younger than him, is his closest friend.
Vampires:
-Queen Margarette-
Ookami_Oshima Age: 47
Appearance/History: She is pale-skinned, has ebony hair, and ruby eyes. Margarette has a scar on her wrist from where she was bitten by her husband, the King, before he was slaughtered in the war. The marriage between her son and the princess was her idea.
-Crowned Prince Jerome-
M A N g ii na Age: 20
Appearance/History: Jerome is tall and thin, with his mother's curly, black hair, his father's brown eyes, and stunningly good looks. He is quiet, yet cold at times. His temper is quick to go bad, and he has little patience. Jerome was furious when he heard about his due marriage with Princess Kara.
-Prince Toren-
Gabbia
Age: 17
Race: Vampire
Power: Shape Shifting (Takes shape of a black cat) and rarely some mindreading
Appearance/History: Toren is shorter than his older brother and much more sensitive and easygoing. With cropped, ebony hair and bright, ruby eyes like his mother. He get's tired of his brother's cold attitude and rude points in time. Toren adores his mother and will protect her with his own life.

Other Characters DESCRIPTIONS
~Humans: No special abilities.
~Avians: Gifted with wings of varying colors and flight. Often shorter, with hollow bones and little body fat.
~Nymphs: Gifted with one of four elements--Earth, Fire, Water, Air--but usually have gifts dealing with Earth.
~Vampires: Gifted with unique abilities, including mind reading, the elements, shape shifting, etc...
~Werewolves: Gifted with a second shape; the shape of a wolf. Fur colors vary. CHARACTERS:
-Baey Yau-
Gabbia
Age: 18
Race: Avian
Appearance/History: Baey Yau's name is pronounced "Bay Yow". He has short, curly, brown hair, hazel eyes, and wings that are barred brown and black with white undersides. Baey was raised to become a royal guard, and is currently a guard of the human princess, Kara. No one but Kara and himself knows his past.
-Tsuzuki Takahshi-

Age: Looks 22
Race: Werewolf
Appearance/History: Tsuzuki works for vampires of course, being a werewolf, but he rather enjoys his work. He works for the royalty of the vampires. He is a royal guard for the vampire prince, Prince Jerome, and sometimes for the queen if the Prince has someone else with him. Tsuzuki is very friendly and kind to the vampire royalty, almost as close to them as family, but not quite. He is happy to serve them.
-Lilith Wynter Rayne-

Age: Looks around 18-20
Race: Vampire
Power: Metamorphosis [ability to change appearance at will] and Pyromancy [ability to manipulate and conjure up fire at will].
Appearance/History: Born in Romania as a pure blood vampire, Lilith fled to the kingdom of the vampires for sanctuary from the vicious vampire hunts happening in her own country. She picked up work for the royal family as their advisor and messenger. Lilith likes to talk and hang out with the werewolves, as well as to cook food for the Royal Family. Lilith's eyes are usually a beautiful clear blue. For a vampire, she has a rather curvy, petite feminine body. She is rather blunt and sarcastic at times, but can be kind, caring and sometimes shy. When she gets angry, you'd better run.
-Alfrida Tuule-
Magnificent Dustmop
Age: 19
Race: Nymph
Power: An air nymph, she can float a few feet off the ground and manipulate wind currents. Her attacks are given a boost with wind behind them.
Appearance/History: Frida is one of the few female members of the Royal Guard and is accompanying Princess Kara on her quest. She is a very strong and lively girl and hates when others question her competence as a guard.
-Yoru Igni Ferna-
Lucifers Wraith
Age: looks around 19
Race: Vampire
Power: manipulating shadows and light, and cryomancy (controlling ice/making ice ) at will.
Appearance/History: Yoru Igni Ferna is a tall, slender noble, he serves as chief of the royal guard. He is serious and expects the best of his fellow guards.
-Rodica Dana-

Age: Appears to be about early twenties. Though of course, she is older than that.
Race: Werewolf.
Appearance/History: Rodica was born free to live happily with her many siblings, cousins, and friends. Her family ruled the forest with a happy paw and hand. They lived a joyous life, and wished that everyone could experience the same happiness that they did. Sadly, Rodica's mother never taught her children the dangers of vampires. When the vampires arrived in their forest, the werewolves weren't sure what to make of it. Rodica was around when they first took over, bringing the werewolves into slavery. Rodica loved her family dearly and always has, but she still blames her spouse's ignorance for their family's new status as slaves. Rodica has learned the tricks to living with Vampires. She is a very useful guard and is dedicated, yes; but that does not mean that she does not plot her freedom every second of every day. Now with the humans and the lighter side on the move, Rodica may have her chance to free her fellow werewolf friends and family.

Kara pulled her hood up higher to deepen the shadows across her face and threw a nervous look over her shoulder. She was hiding in the shadows of the heavy material, surrounded by her flock of guards, but she was still very anxious about being in this part of her country. There was an eerie stillness lurking ahead in the morning air and a sense of foreboding.
She knew from maps that she had viewed in the past that they were at the border of Tair and Miurann when she saw the line of dead trees. The trees had always been this way; blackened as if a fire had kissed their branches. Her group walked parallel to the river, on a narrow, dirt road up the steepening hill. The green trees of her homeland, Tair, thinned and were exchanged for Miurann's dying ones. She would be at the vampire's castle in no more than two days. It was not too far from the border of their country.
They needed to keep an eye out for soldiers and bandits both. The number of guards was for this purpose, really. If she could trust her surroundings, she would be alone and not trailed by her guards. It was just as dangerous to run into a thief as it was to run into an enemy soldier. Kara had no doubt there would be an attack. Nearly everyone knew who she was and where she was going. She knew danger was coming for her, and yet she was not nearly as terrified as her mother had been when she last saw her. Kara knew this was her duty and her father's wish, but it scared her as well.

Jerome stared out of one of the large windows that decorated his room. A frown played out of his grim face. His thin frame rested on the woodwork. He couldn't help but think about his marriage to Kara. Jerome began to pace around his room with distaste of everything. "Maybe there's some way I can avoid this silly thing.. I should send one of the servants to kill her.. But she's probably guarded constantly. That's going to cause problems.."
His little talk was interrupted by the known on his chamberlin door. "Enter."
Jerome growled softly. It was merely a servent making sure everything was alright on the prince, before being shooed away. Sighing he plopped onto the silk sheets covering his enormus bed. He shut his eyes and laid down, trying to devise some plot. Turning up empty, he rose and left his room. As he walked calmly down the corridor he ran his delicate hand along the wall, staring straight ahead. Jerome paused at a portrait of his father, and grinned up at the sullen face. "What would you do in my place?"
Jerome asked, not expecting an answer.
The sound of footsteps echoed down the hall, and the smile faded fast. Narrowing his eyes, he turned and saw nothing but a mere maid doing her daily rounds. Jerome sighed, befor running a cold hand through his thick hair. His eyes followed the young woman as she scurried off. Jerome noticed a shadowy tree nearby. He made his way through the halls, and snatched a simple parasol before heading out to sit and gaze out from under the tree.

 Lilith walked quietly around the castle. It was her day off from, anything really, and she was bored. She wasn't a maid, so she couldn't hang around their area, and she didn't feel like going to the kitchens to show someone how simply adding a few drops of blood to anything gave it a flavour vampires could actually taste, instead of something that resembled ash. Sighing, she picked up a black parasol and walked out a side door to the gardens. Walking down a path, she found a spot completely shielded in shade; a grove of weeping willows surrounded by Japanese maple trees. Walking around the large fountain in the middle, she sat on a swinging seat, forming cat-like ears out of her short black hair. She was bored.

Kara beckoned to a nearby guard and he came towards her. "Do you know if the vampires will be sending anyone to meet us in the nearest city, Baey?" she asked quietly. "Or are we on our own the whole way?"
Baey shrugged unsurely. "Honestly, I am not sure. I believe I heard about them sending someone to acknowlege our arrival, but I cannot tell you the exact answer to your inquiry, my lady," her favorite guard explained simply and honestly.
"I do hope we will not venture upon some misfortune," Kara commented absently. "I don't think I would be very...happy if a group of vampires came forward to attack us." She looked up at the sky and frowned slightly. "Is there any way we can get to the castle more quickly?" she asked him.
Baey scrubbed a hand through his hair. "I'm afraid that only with horses would our travel go faster. Why? Are you that eager?" he asked slowly, with slight, bitter humor.
Kara shook her head sadly. "I just want to make it to a shelter that will be safer than it is out here in the open," she murmured.

Freda followed behind the princess, holding her chakrams to her chest. She was a bit nervous, it'd been a while since she'd been on an important mission. She wished they'd assigned her to the front of the flock, her skills were much more useful there. A slight breeze drifted by her as they marched. She held out her hand and wiggled her fingers, watching the wind dance for her, picking up dead leaves and swirling them around.
Then, noticing that others were watching, she stopped, the leaves falling back to the ground. The last thing she needed was to be chastised by her fellow guards. Most of them weren't too fond of her, anyway, so she wouldn't put it past them.
The sight of the dead landscape made her shudder. She could only imagine what went on in the Vampire's castle.

Kara turned her head slightly when a breeze flowed past her. She knew very well who the creator of the wind would be. And when she looked back, she saw the guard drop her hands and stop her play with the wind and leaves. "Frida, will you come here for a moment? I have a question for you," she called softly. "Have you ever met a vampire?"
"Vampires?" Baey repeated curiously, looking back at the wind nymph.

Frida looked up when the Princess called for her. Quickly she floated past the other guards and landed next to Kara and Baey. Vampires, she thought, and shuddered. "Once, when I was a young girl, still living in Shcorall. There was an attack on my village..." she said, and lowered her head. And they killed Aldred... She barely remembered her big brother, it was so long ago and she'd been so young, but after that she'd been sent to live in Tair.

Kara smiled sadly. She knew that Frida was hesitant about talking of the vampires. "Did you know that I have never once seen a vampire?" she asked the two guards with her. "I have never been allowed to see one before. Mother always had me hidden away so that I would have no chance to see them or be seen."
Baey frowned slightly. "They look just like me and you," he said. "They are nothing special to look at, really. Some of them are extremely good looking, including the royal family, or so I have heard."
"Honestly," Kara said slowly, tentatively. "I'm not sure that I'm that scared of the fact that they're vampires as much as the fact that they are just complete strangers to me. What do you know about the royals, Frida?" she asked.
