XD! Mine does the same thing. He never did it until about two years ago when my dad thought it would be neat to see if he does what our dog does. (i.e. stares and drools)
Problem is, Lighting (my cat) is far less obedient than our dog ever was. He'll get right in your face and try to lick at the food while you're trying to eat it.

Tickle (my cat) is fairly obedient when it comes to table manners. He will sit on the floor and beg, but knows not to get onto the table when someone is around. We trained him with a squirt bottle and squirted him every time we caught him on the table.

Lol. Good planning ahead, 'cause we never trained our cat and he's a tricky little b*****d who gets away with everything.
Of course we picked him up as an adult stray, so he was pretty set in his ways. Most ornery cat in the world too. We put a bell on him so we can hear him before he runs up and chomps into our legs... or... well... bites us with his single tooth. Old kitty is ooooold.
And now we have Salem. We just picked her up as a stray too. She's the teeniest, tiniest, sweetest little lady. Wonderful manners and all <3
Did you start training your cat as a kitten or adult?

Well, we started the training as kittens, but my cat has learned more in his age, I guess. Now all I really have to do is look at him, and say his name in a warning tone.
All 3 of our cats have collars with bells, mainly because they are indoor only cats, and now we can hear them when they try to sneak out when someone goes in or out.
