Okay, you know those boring and generic toads (Player 3 and 4) that you pay as in New Super Mario Bros. Wii? Well, IGN has helped them become less generic and annoying to play as, and more lovable characters. Say hello to Yvan and Wolley!

Watch, Nintendo is going to keep their names Blue Toad and Yellow Toad. If so, I deem them Yvan and Wolley.
Or maybe you can name them yourself...

Cool. Strange though, when I watched the trailer I thought it looked like Player 3 was Yoshi, and player 4 was a Toad, (or the other way around, I just assumed that order, but i thought those were the playable characters anyway)
But Yvan and Wolley. Good names. It would be cool if Nintendo sees this and actually uses those names.

It says it specificly in the article Cheesio linked above. ign So we get a blue-colored Toad and a yellow-colored Toad, Yvan and Wolley. "Yvan" is "Navy" spelled backwards, and "Wolley" is "Yellow" spelled backwards. It's simple, it's effective, and it's fun. It's also the kinds of names Nintendo would pick themselves, had the company not been absentminded and forgot to do so this time around.
