I had a discussion with a friend last night, about who would finally control the galaxy, I said Necrons, because they have nearly completed cutting the warp off from real space if the Deceiver gets afew more bits and bobs (If I remember my 'Cron codex.) And then theres the 'Machine God' on mars, which is a necron God, and controls all machines in the Imperium. With that, he could easily stop the Golden Throne working. And he said Tyranids, because they'd just suck everything up, then I said that the Necrons aren't biological what so ever, and there is billions of Necrons, and thousands of Tomb Worlds in the galaxy.

ORKS!
Sure, chaos will rule (for a while) once the emperor dies since about any human can be possessed then, but orks have a natural resistance to the warp, and they are orks, that says it all. ;D
Plus Ghazzie would most probably manage to gather up all orks in the universe by then and launch a massive WAAAGH! against the galaxy.
That's my 2 teef.

I think it will go like this: The space marines will continue to wage war on thier chaos brethen, until both of them are all but excint.
The Eldar will do something similar with their dark side, whilst a big 3 way batlle between the necrons, tau and orks goes on.
Ultimately, that fate of the galaxy will come down to the Imperial Guard, and the tyranids, simply due to their superior weight of numbers.
Between those 2, I think the bugs will win, we're screwed =(

Chaos, necrons and tyranids are all strong contenders, but give Tau few years more and they will out-tech everyone to the degree that nothing will be able to hurt them. Orks would rule long ago if not for internal warfare. And should they ever conquer galaxy, they would start Waagh to the next one in hope of finding more Nids razz

Tau don't and won't ever have the numbers to take over the universe. It all comes down to raw numbers really, so it's a tie between Orks and Tyranids for me.

Necrons hans down ... nids give the tomb worlds a large birth as is, and it is fantasized the hive mind of the nids is in fact a necron god once known as the great devourer that was banished by the other c'tan for eating the lesser c'tan.

Tyranids hands down. Once they finnish their war with the Orks their numbers will have been increased along with their fighting ability from assimilating skills. There is also the rest of the Tyranid collective yet to have entered the galaxy along with the main Hive Mind which is several times greater than the forces seen so far.
With the difficulty the Empire had fighting them, having to sacrifice billions of lives, which the Tyranids consume and use to create more Tyrnaids, plus the fact the Empire had to sacrafice several worlds plus soliders to slow the Tyranids, which the Tyranids have been known to survive, there is no force extendable enough to survive fighting them.

Its not empire, its Imperium, well that's the official name for it. Imperial Guard- The Guard are running out of men, surprisingly, and soon there won't be any left. Space Marines- Eventually become extinct along with CSM Inquisition- Probably just burn itself. Orks- Go on a big war, kill lots of stuff, then get killed by the nids or Necrons. Tau- Get killed with ease by some other race. Eldar- Try to stop the Necrons or nids, or do some silly thing, but will get stopped by the Dark Eldar, and then eventually both will run out of soldiers. Tyranids- The Hive mind, or Great Devourer is a Necron C'tan. Cog-boys- Their Machine god is the Void Dragon, a Necron C'tan. Necrons- Will rule the galaxy, cutting the Warp off from the material plane, the Necrons will harvest all the races, like they did billions of years ago, and since they can't really die, they just disappear when killed, to keep coming back. Also Mars is a Tomb World.

You can't break the Imperium into such specific factions. They all fall together despite their different backgrounds.
THERE IS NO MACHINE GOD. There is only the Emperor who created that myth.
As for the "Great Devourer" you actually mean "the Outsider", that is what Hivefleet Behemoth is avoiding.

Orks, since originally they were designed by the Old Gods to fight the Necrons I think....am I right or no? Plus, given time I think they can bash those pesty bugs into paste. As for the Imperium, they basically screwed themselves when they won the Horus Heresy.

Tyranids and Necrons are actually the most likely to live in relative harmony. They completely ignore one another because Tyranids have no souls for the Necrons to collect, and the Necrons have no biomass. That said, SQUATS! Syumerrt Orks, since originally they were designed by the Old Gods to fight the Necrons I think....am I right or no? Plus, given time I think they can bash those pesty bugs into paste. As for the Imperium, they basically screwed themselves when they won the Horus Heresy. Actually I think the Eldar were created for that, if I remember the fluff right.

Nay, sorry, no. Orks were created by the Old Ones as detailed in the Ork codex. The Old Ones created them as their ultimate warriors and coded things into their genes, like the ability for some to build things out of scrap or the knowledge of the squirty things inside a body.
The Ork is the only race to date that has managed to assault a Tyranid fleet head on and fight it to a virtual standstill despite loss of life. Orks fight and get stronger, Nids eat and get stronger, so whoever comes out on top is stronger than ever before. But seeing as both sides have numbers at their disposal..

Lots of people were created by the Old Ones, I thought the Eldar were the ones specifically to counter Necrons. Maybe both, for that matter...?
