Its a Motif a common theme that other series decided to fallow and honor the original. I'm sure there's something more to it but its just a common theme

Yes, it adds mystery to the character. However in Gundam Wing you actually get to see Zechs face in like the 9th episode

true and u see char's face as well later in the show i think they take mask off after they are established as who they are and what they are doing

Being a new type would be hard. But SOoooo much better for people who feel bad about fighting. We'd know not to blow up the wrong people >.<
Thpugh it's sad so many of them are messed up to the point of self sacrifice.

I wiki'd them all so al lI remember are like the two that went crazy (and were like clones or something) and the other ones that didn't want someone they loved to die, so they like blocked them, or blocked them from shooting someone they were related to or some such thing.
That's why I chose Judau. His life doesn't sound too bad overall. whee
