DISCLAIMER!: to me, the beginning starts out really crappy, but it gets better when you get further into the story. Also, you'll know that I'm done when I change all of the font to blue. grr.. I hate it that you can't indent. mad
The Breakaway

He didn't realize she was backing up until her hand slid form his.
"Wait, don't go." He said, stepping forward and wrapping one arm around her waist. She felt him grab a belt loop.
"Let me go. Please." She said, trying to turn, her eyes filling.
"No." He said, wrapping his other arm around her waist, pulling her closer. She caught herself staring into his almond eyes.
"I love you." He said, still gazing into her eyes. She shivered. It was as if he could see through her eyes and see her.
"No, you don't. You love her." She said, looking away as a tear fell out of her eye, as if leaking from her soul.
"What do I have to do to prove to you that I love you? Not her body, but you. The little wanderer that drives my emotions crazy." He said softly, kissing the tear away.
"Would you still love me if I were in a deformed body? If I were a "cripple" as you people say. Would you love me if I were ugly?" She said, looking fiercely into his eyes, searching helplessly for an answer. That was when he realized she felt more about him than she let on.
"Yes. I love you. Not the body you are in." Then he brushed the hair out of her face.
"I love you. Not Sasha. You." He said as he leaned in. Then she let him kiss her. She couldn't resist anymore. She unfolded her arms from across her chest and looped them around his neck. He looked a bit surprised. That was when she kissed him back. Suddenly she yanked back and slapped him.
"Don't you ever touch me again!" Sasha shouted. Then she fell silent as a horrified expression fell on her face.
"Bel? What was that for?" He asked, confused.
"I'm so sorry Ian. I let my guard down, and Sasha broke through. She hates it when anyone touches her body. She really hates it when Rayvynn kisses her."
"Why? Didn't she used to love him?"
"Yeah, but she hates it that I'm here."
"Oh. I didn't know she still talked to you."
It's not like I'm a puppy you can just throw away.
Shut it.
No. This is my body. It was until you got here and Wrecked. My. Life. It would have been perfect.
Then Sasha showed her a dream of her, Rayvynn and James sitting around talking happily. No scars, no jade eyes. She tried to shove the memory away. Sasha persisted.
"Stop it!" She sobbed, not realizing she had spoke aloud. Ian instantly wrapped his arms protectively around her.
"What is it Bel?" When she didn't answer, he said, "It's Sasha, isn't it? You two are fighting. I can see it. You get that look when you talk with her."
"Yes." She said quietly as she laid her head on his shoulder.
Get off him. Sasha snarled.
No. You go away! She growled back.
Why should I? Just so you can violate my body by being with him? She shouted as Bells began ignoring her.
"Sometimes I wish that I had never got her as a new host. But then if I hadn't..." She broke off, not willing to finish.
"Then you wouldn't have ever met me. You wouldn't have met any of us. Even known about us." He finished.
"But you wouldn't be in so much danger either."
"True. But I like living on the edge." He said, giving her a crooked smile. She smiled back. Then she loosened her grip and as she lowered her arms, he instantly wrapped his arms around her waist.
"It's ok, I'm not leaving. Just sitting down." She said, turning to remove his hands. He sighed as she broke his grip. Then, as she was sitting down, he bumped into her leg, making her fall.
"Oh, did I do that?" He said innocently as she turned around laughing.
"I don't know, did I?" She asked as she pulled him down. For a moment, he looked uncomfortable as he hesitated laying next to her on the ground. Any uncertainty left his face as he grabbed her while she was rolling and pulled her on top of him. He didn't expect her to kiss him though. Then he began kissing her while both hands rested comfortably on her back.
Will you stop!
Shut
up!
No!
I could always get another body.
Makes me no difference.
You'd be gone forever. No more Rayvynn.

"Stop touching me!" Sasha managed to shout when Ian's hands moved up to her neck. His hands froze.
Shut up! She shouted at Sasha as she wound her fingers through his hair. He then wound his hands in her hair too. They both froze when they heard a footstep in a puddle.
"Damn." I silently cursed myself. Ian's thoughts froze as well as his body. Sasha's, for once, turned to panic, fearing Rayvynn might catch her with him. Roseabell's thoughts were as silent as ever, but that was normal. The only time I could hear her thoughts were when she either spoke them, or when she was arguing with Sasha. I was always annoyed that I couldn't hear hers, though I could hear everyone else. I froze when I saw her eyes rest on me for a moment. Surprise flashed on her face, but she quickly hid it. She stared at my face for a moment, then glanced around again. A normal person wouldn't have noticed the pause. But Sasha saw all that Bells say, and she saw me for a brief second before Bells frantically blocked her. She wasn't quick enough.
He's hot.
Bells said nothing to her. I almost silently chuckled to myself. Her eyes flicked back to me as if she heard. She couldn't have heard. Her ears would have been too weak. She then tried to communicate to me through Sasha.
You're not human, are you?
Duh.
Sasha said, thinking she was being talked to. Bell blocked her out before she looked for an answer. I barely moved my head to the side. She slid off of Ian. It had been barely five seconds since he'd froze. He sat up with her, and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, and she gazed around the room, her eyes resting on me only when she asked a question.
You can hear me, right? She asked shutting Sasha out before she could respond. I tilted my head, hoping she would understand that I meant "so-so". She apparently did. When she asked another question, Sasha beat her to it.
You're talking to him, aren't you?
None of your business. Besides, how can I talk to him if I only think it?
I narrowed my eyes a little.
I don't know, but you're up to something.
Whatever.
What about your precious Ian?
She spat at her. I could see the fury growing on her face.
Leave Ian out of this! She shouted back. I could tell she wasn't going to be 'talking' to me anymore at the moment, at least around Ian. I got out of there silently but fast, Bells eyes following me the whole time. How could her eyes have seen me in the shadows? A normal human couldn't have seen me. Duh. She's not human either, I thought to myself. I would have to talk with Ian later....

I crept through the hallways, searching for an empty, dark place. I didn't realize I was near a room until I heard a hushed conversation.
"Hey, so I heard that Rayvynn's pretty torn about you-know-who." A young female voice said.
"Yeah, I heard that they only found this place after she left to go "shopping" for supplies and was gone too long."
"Really?"
"Yeah, said she was gone for a full day before they decided to find Ol' Ben."
"Almost didn't find him." I began walking again, not wanting to hear more. I found an empty room about five doorways away from Ian's place. I searched for the darkest part of the empty place and began pondering how to talk with my brother.

I waited in the little room I had found until an hour after dark. After that, I waited another half hour to be sure everyone was sleeping before leaving my little space.
Well, everyone but my brother, that is. I walked faster now, knowing no one would be awake through here. Surely he could hear my steps now. When I got to his door, I stopped and listened for a heartbeat. There was none. So she didn't sleep in his room. That was a good sign, at least for now. I slipped in the door and closed it silently, quick enough that he didn't notice.
"Hello Brother." I said quietly. He turned around.
"I thought I heard something earlier. How are you? Come on inside." He said embracing me.
"Oh, how the years have flown by. You haven't changed one bit." I said, and he snorted.
"Yeah, like that's ever going to happen." We sat silent for a few seconds.
"So, who is she?" I eventually asked.
"Roseabell. She came here after searching with Sasha for Rayvynn and Jamie. Jamie's her-"
"Older brother, I know. And Rayvynn is Sasha's old flame, one could say."
"Yeah, how did you figure that out?"
"Oh, you know how women gossip about anything and everything."
"True."
"So, does she know?" I asked.
"Well, yes and no."
"How so?" I asked.
"She seems to suspect somethings...different about me than other guys. I guess Sasha doesn't help that case either. She's probably starting to wonder why I can't actually kiss her."
"Because it would kill her." I added.
"Yes, and I don't want that. Oh, just the thought of it." He shuddered.
"But you came close to accidentally changing her earlier."
"Yes.. I think she's starting to wonder why I haven't gone a step forward in that direction."
"Because it would kill her. In a sense."
"Also a yes. And I don't think she would want that yet. Especially if she were to become trapped in that body. She would probably nearly hate me then. Thank you for the distraction earlier, by the way."
"It wasn't very intentional."
"How so?"
"I was trying to find a way to distract you, so I was trying to escape to think for a moment. I forgot that there was a puddle there."
"Oh."
"So, does she know you're here?" Ian asked after a moment.
"Yes, but she doesn't know me, know me."
"Um... What?"
"She saw me earlier. You know how she scanned the room before sliding off you?"
"Um...no." I chuckled before continuing.
"Well, she did. And she saw me. Sasha did too, and I think your girl might think I'm hot." I added teasingly.
"Why?"
"Sasha saw me and said "he's hot", and she thought nothing. No disagreement."
"No agreement either."
"True. Anyway, she's pretty smart though."
"How so?"
"She thought to try to communicate through Sasha."
"um.. how?"
"Well, to be honest, I can't hear her thoughts." I admitted, ashamed.
"And somehow, she knew something like that. I can only hear her when she either speaks them, or when Sasha hears them."
"So does she know what we are?"
"No. But she does know that we're not human."
"Lemme guess, she asked you, and you somehow tipped her off."
"Basically. She asked/said "you're not human, are you?" Sasha, dumb as she is, thought she was being talked to. I slightly turned my head to the side after she blocked Sasha out."
"She can do that?"
"Yeah."
"So, Bro, are you gonna hang around for awhile? or are you gonna run again?"
"Nah, I'll stay. 'Sides, if I get a new sis, I'll want to be around to help her out till she gets under control."
"Yeah, I see what you mean. By the way, you got a place to lay your head at night?"
"Well, at least act like I sleep, yeah."
"Where at?"
"'Bout five doors down. It's a little place." Ian burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?" I asked, a little peeved.
"Dude, you're sleeping in a closet!"
"What? That's a closet?!"
"Yeah."
"Big closet.. I like it though. Big and empty."
"Whatever Bro. Suit yourself. I'll stop by in the morning to take you to see Ben. Then he'll find you a place to officially 'lay your head' at night."
"Ok, whatever. See 'ya later."
I hurried out, paying no attention to how fast I was going until I opened the door. Of course, it wasn't like we had inhuman speed like some books suggest. We're just considerably faster than mortals. I stepped outside so fast and silently that I ran straight into someone. I had shut the door as soon as I slipped out, milliseconds before running into the person. They fell back, but I was quicker. Without thinking, I grabbed the person. The poison flowed to my mouth as I inhaled a scent of blood that I couldn't resist. I then realized who was standing there. Standing there, my hands locked on her shoulders, was a shaken Bells, and blood rushed to her cheeks. The poison rushed back to my mouth, and I fought it back down. Only mere seconds had passed. After I regained my composure, I asked a single question.
"How long?" I said quietly. I watched as she stared into my eyes.
"You have a majestic voice." She finally managed to spit out.
"That didn't answer my question."
"I'm sorry?" She said, confused.
"I asked, how long were you standing there. How much do you know?" I heard Ian's thoughts, again, turn to panic.
"Awhile." She said shyly after sighing. I heard Ian,too, sigh. I was glad he didn't always know my thoughts. IF he did, he would have all but killed me. He could never know that I had thought about how her warm, sweet blood would taste mingled with my poison. I shook my head, clearing my thoughts.
"What all have you heard?" I asked, focusing on her again.
"A lot." She admitted again, this time blushing.
"We had better go inside then." I said, releasing her. Not one minute had passed, but it felt like hours had. I opened the door and gently pushed her through. I was not looking forward to this conversation.
