So im sure most of you guys have heard of Arbans Carnival of Venice, yeah? Well im a freshman trumpet player right now, and for one of my bands songs next year, were gonna play Arbans C.o.V band arrangement and i am going to be playing it the trumpet soloing(which is basically the whole reason for the song)! its so cool! apparently nobody (from all the grades) that my band director has taught has been able to play it, but i can! woohoo! lol
Anyone else excited for somthing?

Marching season's about to come back up and two of our three flute section leaders are piccs. Also, there's a rumor floating around that our color guard's going to be belly dancing in the show. All I can say is this is going to be one very interesting year.

My BD is making all our flutes play picc. Our show is going to be pretty interesting too. We are playing five different songs, all by Aaron Copland, and it sounds really cool. One of the songs, Hoedown from Rodeo(rod-a-o) is a perc feature, and the finale is sooo cool! There may evn be a clarinet solo in there, but we haven't seen the music yet.

We can be really loud if we want to. Now the trumpets, that is a different story. Us clarinets(only two playing on a regular basis) can overpower them when we play pianoXD

My band's Spring Concert is coming up this Thursday actually so I'm quite excited for that. We're playing... uh... something around 16 pieces. If you thought 5 was a lot, how much is 16? sweatdrop and I'm totally serious. Our junior band is playing 5 pieces, senior band is playing 6 pieces, and stage band is playing 5 pieces. We've been working on this since January so it better go well.
We're actually playing a piece called Lassus Trombone which is a trombone feature (obviously), so I'm pretty stoked (cause I play trombone... if that wasn't obvious). I'm most likely going to be dead lip wise at the end of the concert since I'm in both senior and stage band, but I love it so I wont complain.
