I am a strange sort of person who loves spewing random facts about random stuff (usaully chemistry based because i am THAT sad sweatdrop ) so i was wondering if anyone would like to tell me a few lesser known gems of information so i can expand me repetiour of specific (useless) facts. and have a laugh in the process.
heres a bonus one- nicotine is twice as poisenous as strychnine.

thanks biggrin
well if you need a hand just ask. don't worry about it, thermodynamics and kintetics are 2 of the hardest bits so it should get easier after that. have you been introduced to the famous "curly arrows" yet?

its the holy grail of organic chemistry, it shows the movement of electons in an organic mechanism.
once you get the hang of curly arrows all the organic stuff makes sense. you'll be able to just pick up an organic chemistry text book and it wont look all alian.
so what level of chemistry are you studying?

._. I see, it doesnt sound all that hard. Movement of electrons, like in physics? And Im not so sure what 'level' Im at. But I take pure sciences and right now, its enough for the O's and Ill be going on to A's next year. Sort of an in between O's and A's?

*head spinning from chemistry talk*
um....did you know that the Stasi used to enter people's homes and steal dirty underwear in order to harvest smell smples for sniffer dogs? When the Berlin wall came down and the archives were breached there were thousands upon thousands of little jars with pieces of rag 'smells' in them.

coolio
the hummingbird's (?) tongue is so long that it has to wrap around it's brain in order to fit.
Dolphins are one of the few animals who can recogise themselves as seperate and definate individuals when viewing their own reflection.
Dolphin foetuses develop two little nubs where thier lower legs would have been while they grow, but these are later re-absorbed into their body before birth.

more people have died from being misdiagnosed with cyanide poisening than people acutally dying from it-in the last 20 years.
glass is NOT a liquid.
CO2 doesnt cause global warming because it absorbs light in the same frequency as H2O.
take that! twisted
