My steampunk lolita seems lacking.

Sorry if I shouldn't have posted about this, but I couldn't really find another thread where I could post this problem.
I'm working on an outfit but I need help. It's a steampunk lolita, but I don't think it's steampunk enough or lolita enough.

Here's some modifications I was thinking of.
Replacing the laces on the boots with cream ribbons, with bows on the toes and at the top.
Adding lace around the yoke.
Adding lace to bottom ruffle.
Making a large bow in the brown fabric to be worn around the neck, to echo the one on the bustle.
Getting a larger petticoat.
Adding lace to the bow on the bustle.
Perhaps adding lace to the cuff of the boot? I'm afraid of going too far by putting lace in a place that doesn't make sense.
I think my hair not being in the steampunk palette, and if I got a high-quality wig it would save some time on styling my hair. Also, my hair wilted pretty badly over the course of the day and I got some flack for it. A wig would require less styling. The longer wig I was looking at.

I bought some vintage goggles to mod. The lenses are separate and the nosepiece is missing, so I thought I'd replace all the worn elastic and the nosepiece with ribbons tied into bows. These will be placed over the bangs of the wig.
I am also considering painting the goggles a brass color, possibly with a design of some sort on the side (a flower, perhaps?), particularly if I go for a brown wig.

I think it also needs some sort of accessory to go with it, a steamed-up object of some sort. I was thinking perhaps of a parasol or a china doll.

I was so pleased when I found it.
Do you ever wonder what people who aren't costumers do with the rest of the bolt?

It is a very pretty dress right now, but I can't help but feel it's not steampunk or lolita enough.

The other day I was thinking about the parasol, and it suddenly hit me: What's the point of a steam-powered parasol that does not enable you to fly?
I am at this moment trying to devise the most practical construction of mating a parasol with a ceiling fan. Ideally, the leaves would both fold and rotate, which would mean that the shaft was in two parts, allowing the levers which raise the leaves of the fan to rotate independently of the handle. I also get the feeling that the handle ought to have a brass head of some sort at the end.
Also, much could be done for this outfit with a pocketwatch and some goggles.
