I just saw the new movie and I have to say, it was a lot of fun to watch. On the other hand I will say that they went ahead a made a lot of changes to the Trek Universe, even if they were able to explain it away, I'm not sure I'm happy with those changes.

Still, the actors did a great job emulating the original cast. They even got some of the original lines "Pointy ear hobgoblin," and "I'm a doctor, not a physicist, damn it."

What about you guys? Did you love the new movie or hated it?

I liked the movie as a movie. I'm not a huge Star Trek fan so I don't know how accurate it was, but I liked that action and stuff. I'm sure if I was a Trekkie I wouldn't like some of the changes, but from an outsider's point of view it was a good movie.

I haven't seen it yet, but seeing as how I'm not an avid Star Trek fan, I really just see it as another movie.

I haven't watched it yet, but I plan to. I am most definately not a fan of Star Trek, but I always seem to go see the movies. I don't understand it.. but it works for me.

I'm an old school trekie myself so i approached this movie expecting an entirely innappropriate whoring and raping of my beloved memories by hollywood. What I got was a legitimately entertaining experience. It decided to be wholly non canon to bring a new fan base in, but it was honestly straight forward in it's non-canonness (fake word). In fact the whole plot was reminiscient of the original series. Especially the red shirt dieing... heheh... red shirt guy.

I just couldn't stand it, I felt it just sorta ruined the original show.

I saw the movie when it came out and I loved it. Chris Pine is a hot Captian Kurt as well as Zachery Quinto playing Spock. And Karl Urban as Bones was amazing, I love the part where he says "Damnit man". Plus Simon Pegg was sooooo funny as Scotty.

The actors they got to play the roles all did amazing and I like how J.J. Abrams created his own world so he could really do what he wanted to make the story line seem new and not out dated.

I got the movie the day it came out and have watched it so many times. xd

Lucky for me, I fall under the catigorys of 'Super Geek' or 'UberFan' or whatever the hell you want to call the weirdo's that can be fans of everything without being a hater of (almost) anything. I know, scary thought right?

Anyway, the new Star Trek movie. It was awesome, made of win on two slices of softly toasted kickass with a nice can-of-whoopass spead on top.

It emulated all the origional characters very well, and put them into a new situation that harkened back to the old days and the wonderful character interation of Kirk, Bones, and Spock, emulating the old "Ego, Id, SuperEgo" formula that they presented. (If you have no idea what that is, ask and I'll explain.)

Plus, it gave me good reason to bust out mah convention dregs and to sneak some more Romulan Ale over the Neutral Zone.
