The Hearse Song

This was way too adorable. I'm cramming for my Living, Dying, Grieving final and I'm in the chapter where they talk about how kids deal with death. I've never heard of the hearse song before so I looked it up. Apparently, this is something that kids sing and have a great time with.

They most likely don't. They probably just like the weird lyrics and neat little sound. Just like when kids play ring around the rosey, they've no idea it's about the plague. There's lots of stuff that kids enjoy in which the basis of the game or song is around death.

Exactly, there's no hidden message so kids actually have an idea of what they're singing about. I mean, I don't think it's like itty bitty kids singing it, but the bigger kids who get a kick out of "gross" things or things that are suppose to be "off limits"....like death, since most parents tend to try and hide or sugar coat that topic.

I don't know about you two, but when I grew up and actually learned what ring around the rosey was about, I felt....deceived. Like I hadn't been told the truth and just allowed to play in ignorance. That was a game that I used to play all the time with my friends and there I was without a clue thinking it was just something fun to do when my friends and I got bored.
