I thought this might be a little humourous for us girls to share our 'becoming a woman' stories. If your too embarassed or don't want to share, that's fine, but as much as I hate my period, it can be something to laugh over too.
Well, I'm in grade 9, and I'm 14, and I got my period in grade 6, when I was 12 I believe.
So I was sitting on the toliet reading, (I always read on the toliet!) and I sat up and noticed a drop of blood, and imidiately ran and got my mom and showed her. When I pointed, she sighed and said "Here we go...". Of course the first time was very light, and unfournately it was the day before Track and Field! And I wasn't used to wearing a pad, so it felt awkard running whee
So, when did you get your period, where did it occur? It doesn't have to be a funny story, just tell! (I would think this thread would be allowed!)
Edit: I realized there's a similar thread to this one of the front page, but it was SEX/PUBERTY not just periods so maybe this thread will be allowed. And not just went you got your period, other embarssingly/funny period moments as well,

I got my period when I was 12, the summer before 7th grade, and now I'm 15 and in 10th grade. I honestly don't clearly remember exactly what happened.

I was 13 and in the middle of a two week boat trip with my parents. It wasn't so bad except it was pretty heavy and pretty crampy. My mom didn't believe that I needed to be using as many pads as I was since she was always light.

I got mine the very end of my 7th grade year. (I was 12) It wasn't bad the only crappy part was the second day there was a school field trip to a water park so I had to deal with tampons right off the bat! gonk Not fun. Minus the whole learning to deal with tampons issue it wasn't bad at all.

I've never used a tampon, and probably never will. xd
I got my period when I was on vacation with my family. I was 11 at the time. We were spending a couple of days in Hawaii on the way to Australia, and I got my period while we were down at the beach. My mom took me back to our hotel room and explained that I now had my period, and I couldn't go swimming while I had it. I think I locked myself into the bathroom and screamed and cried that I wanted to go swimming. We finally compromised and I went without the pad (for the day, since I was so upset about it), but didn't go back in the water once we went back to the beach.
Yeah, I was a difficult kid. sweatdrop On the plus side though, we spent 5.5 weeks in Australia, and after we got back, because of the travel and time zone changes, I didn't get my period for 3 months after that!

I got mine when I was 14. (Im 15 now.) It was the Wednesday of the week before Christmas so lucky for me, we were already on break! It was pretty regular at first then the darned irregularness kicked in. Seriously, it came on the same day of the week the first two or three months.
I LOVE tampons. Always use them, always will. Pads make me so uncomfortable. Didnt even wear them out, wore one around the house for a little while then I went and ripped it off of my underwear and used the tampons.
OB is my favourite brand. I couldnt use applicators very well but then when I ran out last month I had to borrow some of my sisters and all she had was applicators. I am now skilled at both applicators and non-applicators but I still use the non. Just wash hands thoroughly. 3nodding

I got my period when I was nine years old...fourth grade. I was the only girl with breasts and a period, and I had to use the teacher's restroom because it had a trash can so I could change my pads. It sucked until fifth grade when a couple other girls got their periods, so we suffered together. I wear pads all the time. Tampons give me the worst cramps on the planet, and since my periods are nasty to begin with, I don't want to make it worse. I also take birth control just to regulate my periods, as otherwise I start bleeding and won't stop.

I was 14. I'm a late developer.
Anyway, I was in the bath and I screamed cos the water went red. sweatdrop The thing is, we were doing swimming at school in PE and I had to use tampons from the start... stressed I hated tampons at the time, but I always use em now.

I got mine on my 13th birthday (what a great gift). I was at home studying for a spelling test and was feeling sick, went to the bathroom and I was bleeding! I freaked out and screamed for my mom. Oh good times good times.

Lets see, I was at school in either 6th or 7th grade. I was sitting infront of the library too and I had no idea what was going on, so by the time I was home or wait...yeah, thats how it goes (I have trouble remembering things...sadly most of my childhood too but anyways back to subject)...I had a large red blood stain on my pants, it was sad, and himuliating, especially since none of my friends pointed it out to me...I'm thankful for my friends now though, they tell me those things. >.<

I got mine when I was 12 (in 7th grade). I wasn't too happy about going to my mom about it, though, cause we'd never talked about any of that before and it felt really awkward especially when she was acting all enthusiastic..
