it counts as p.e. credit at our school but we still have to take a semester of health. i love it because it means i can have time with my friends and not alone in some useless class with a bunch of losers.

I always worked harder in marching band than P.E. Marching Band got me my last P.E. credit in high school after I transferred there after some arguing with my counselor.

We finally go the Council to let marching band count as P.E. credit. I don't have to take any extra classes like health cause we run and practice for at least 4 hours. Last year you had to take pe and marching band which was hard cause pe was 7th period and so was marching band... -_- it was stupid but now I'm happy. biggrin

yes. it counts as p.e credit in my school. but, for p.e credit in my hs you need to take marching band for 3 years for credit. you need 1 and 1/2 p.e credits..so yeah..

It counts at my school, but only for one semester. The other semester you have to take PE or Health or Driver's Ed.
We also get 0.25 credits for doing band over the summer.

i wish it counted in my school, though it wouldnt do me any good if it was now cause ive already taken P.E. But still, it definately should count. people seem to underesimate the amount of wrok, dedication, and coordination it takes to march and play an instrument at the same time

it doesn't count as P.E. credit at my school, but we used to get scholar athlete awards just like the football players...then they changed it to "band scholar"...sounds like we're all researching marching bands...

marching band isnt a pe credit at our school. (if it were that would be convenient bc i could have gotten done w spanish instead of doing 2yrs of jrotc, and i would get to do AP musictheory and ancient history, but nooo. they hate me. oh well)
it should be though, i mean, we practice more than our football team dose by a long shot (at least 1hr more during the week, and we do something on almost every sat. which the fball team dose NOT) and more than half the time there in the weight room screwing around, and we barly get water brakes.... and i mean come on, jazz runing... it just speaks for itself. 10 yard lines in 20 counts at 150 tempo with perfect technec, whilst trying not to blow our klnees out (although if you had perfect techniqu you wouldnt have that problem)
