Please elaborate on your choice.

Hm.... I chose aliens, in regards to what might be the most IMMEDIATE threat. We're too far away from having the technology to make TRUE artificial intelligence. And zombies... well I had a hard time picking between aliens and zombies.
It could, I think, legitimately happen. Zombies I mean. Some sort of disease or sickness that kills most of the brain besides the need to eat (and likely breed) returning us to our base instincts. I'm not sure about the living dead part, unless the virus would need to work quickly when the brain is completely inactive (And during sleep as well) to establish itself, and then would give off a sort of 'spark' that could, or could not jump start the body.
And it would perhaps act like a cold. We might be able to kick the first few strains of it, but it would get harder and harder to quicker and quicker, because it would have to adapt VERY quickly to get one over on us.
And then again, something like that, could it exist on earth? Or would it be an alien body? And then zombie/alien would cross over.
Aliens... well I believe aliens helped influence us or even CREATED us through experimenting or crossbreeding with us, and then moved off. Maybe the whole planet is an experiment, or an attempt at populating the universe. Maybe if we evolve enough to get more like them, they'll come back and accept us into society.
Maybe they'll come and eat us. Who knows. biggrin
So Aliens. Yep. A tiny alien virus that causes zombification-like stuff.
And then again, Zombies wouldn't really 'take over' .... they'd just be near-mindless predators, who would probably eat everything in sight and act like gluttons, and then end up eating themselves. And then they'd destroy the world a bit before microorganisms evolved again or the sea creatures or remaining land creatures evolved further. biggrin
Yep.

I voted zombies. I generally define zombies as anything that was dead and has been reincarnated when it comes to video games... but in the real world I am referring more to a disease. Like in the movie "28 Days Later" those zombies aren't reanimated dead- they are rage infected humans incapable of thought or feeling. Not dead, reanimated flesh, but infected flesh- a disconnect from the brain.
Diseases already are rapidly evolving and adapting entities. And while I do believe there is other life out amongst the universes somewhere, I see no reason it would ever want to visit our galaxy specifically. There are just so many galaxies out there, so spread apart that the chances of aliens is really slim. Diseases are already taking their toll on human, an animal, populations.
Robots are stupid. D< They only function according to whatever we input in them. So, yes, we could make them able to "think" for themselves, etc... but i don't see it as something that will end the world.
Zombies. o_o

Exellent points from both of you. :3
While I initially voted zombies, I think I’ll retract my vote and place it on robots. Not those robotic human types, but rather the robots you already see in use today - such as those used in surgery procedures or in science experiments. The machines used where a human hand can’t be trusted. I believe robots of this nature would be the most hazardous because they handle incredibly dangerous materials - I have seen robotic arms used to unhinge detonators on bombs, for example, and with so much talk of Weapons of Mass Destruction, it has occurred to me that a robot would no doubt be employed to handle such weapons… and due to a glitch, could easily set it off. This could end in a large amount of destruction, or be accidentally perceived by other nations as threatening, thereby starting a war.
And in the case of science experiments, a robotic arm could spasm suddenly due to a program error, spilling disease-causing chemicals that could then spread, killing countless people. (Robot/zombie crossover!)
