Hello boys and girls~!
Today, I'm going to talk to you about animating your avatar~!

So, have an avatar you'd like to animate but don't know how? Here are some easy steps towards making your own living piece of art.

Step 1, Decide on what you want to do.
The first step to making anything is deciding what to make. It doesn't have to be anything hard, but coming up with a gameplan will really help you out when you start to get into more specifics.
This step should include: What medium your going to use.

Step 2, Make a storyboard.
This step is important, because it will help you decide how your character will move, how long it takes to get from start to finish, and how easy or hard the animation can be.
This step doesn't have to be elaborate, or even done with any fancy software programs. All it takes is a pencil, and a little imagination.
Draw out what you want the character to do, step by step.
This step should include: How many frames you want to make your animation and how much detail you want to spend in making it.

Step 3, Create your pieces
This step is usually the second hardest step. Using whatever type of medium you want (traditional, or Computer software related) Draw each item out in detail.
I highly recommend that you use Computer software that has a layering system. This will do wonders in the editing process, ans you may need to take away some, but not all, of the image you are creating. (Plus its easier to fix than working with a single layer program.)
This step will include: Creating all the pieces for you'll need initially for each frame of your animation.

Step 4, Move your Pieces
Placing your newly created pieces into an animating program, you'll need to file them, label them, and sort them so they show up in the right order.
Each frame you use will determine how long your animation is.
This step will include: Importing all your created pieces into your animation device, Organizing the pieces, and creating frames for each piece so that they can be animated.

Step 5, Review your Work
This step is usually the hardest part. You'll be making changes to existing pieces, adding more or taking away frames as needed. You'll also need to check the size of the animation (if your looking to make it signature friendly).
This step will include: Making any changes needed to complete your work.

I will post some examples in the next few posts, and give you a step by step analysis of each frame as it is edited.
