Monday - Wednesday there will be two added Sub Forums. The first will be a Picture thread, this also includes our own member's artwork! Secondly, there will be a Japanese Language thread! This thread will be for members to be able to chat in Japanese if they wish, and the Japanese teaching section will also be moved there.

Please note everyone that if you're concerned about being able to understand, all members will still be expected to translate their Japanese to English to the best of their ability.
Additionally, Yama and I are always looking forward to any feedback at all. This is your guild too remember! We want to know what you want! Let us know! Here is a chance for you to respond to this idea of these subforums. Even though we agree that it's a good idea, you may be of a completely different opinion. Let us know here! smile

 I think it's a good idea too! Another suggestion: You might make an off topic subforum so they don't all clutter up the main page. Just a suggestion though! ^_^

I like the idea of an ''OT" subforum, but after talking to Yama I agree in that... I'm concerned that members won't visit the off topic subforum. Yama and I have brainstormed--it seems like a 50/50 thing between OT threads and threads that pertain directly to MyJapan.
One concern of mine is splicing up the guild too much. We can try to implement more forums, but my fear is that some people won't venture into other subforums. That they will become sort of ''comfortable'' in the one subforum that they usually dwell in. This is still a community, and I don't want to separate members too too much.
If we're making a subforum dedicated to Language, I wonder if we should also include things like ''culture'' or other aspects about Japan that people can share information on--but! That is essentially the main My Japan forum. I suppose we should consider leaving it strictly language. Are people interested enough in learning the Japanese language to have an entire subforum on it? Are people interested enough in having a subform dedicated to only pictures?

Well how many people actually commonly join in with the forum discussion? Maybe direction would be better making people feel more involved or at least a want to visit in order to create a crowd worthy of direction.

Maybe direction would be better making people feel more involved or at least a want to visit in order to create a crowd worthy of direction. But I also can see how too many subforums would split us up. I think that the main forum area is fine for general Japanese culture and OT threads, and then the subforums would be for extremely specific topics (like what we have already with Lolita etc.).

I understand what you're saying as well. Perhaps in a smaller crowd, people would feel more comfortable. 3nodding It's the same way that some people prefer large cities or small towns.

OMG; this subforum may be headachable (this word exists oO???)... this because topics can be aimed by serie (more complete and clean but mooore topics) or by theme/genre (mixed but minus topics, I lazy ^^)... on my opinion I likes "serie topics", because I can find just my favorite serie fanart *w*...
