I have no choice but to write a story involving steampunk samurais then, as there appears to be none on the internet.

Go for it; but I will inform you that there has been a manga around that involves a steampunk ancient japan. Or atleast that's what I was told a while back, when I first set foot into this thread.

I was thinking about maybe a Ronin samurai arriving on the shores of England on a fishing vessel, only to discover that it is steampunk to the awesome degree.

Has anyone ever heard of Sakura Wars?
It is an anime/manga series where the main characters pilot steam-powered mech suits that use samurai weapons.

I've heard of it, but never have checked it out.
I'll have to do that. I sounds neat.

Hmm. Samuri-ish armor made of brass and leather. Gears on sholders and chest. full head helmet with goggles over the eyeholes, closing it entirely. Tesla Coil sword form cutting and electric attack. Also with a large gear over the handle to serve as a hand guard

Darn and drat; this irritates me greatly, as I know I've seen some really splendid stuff like that, but I can't find them. A search for Steampunk Samurai on deviantArt seemed to turn up pre-cyberpunk-esque works; very little really steamy.

Also, look at the fantastic Kimono here.

Samurai 7?

Okay, so it's not great, but I cranked it out in like . . .five minutes, so don't expect Shakespeare.

-----~-----

Standing before the massive metal sculpture, he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. It had been a year since he had washed up on the shores of the strange isle, a place with buildings of dark design, where beasts glared down upon him from rooftops, silent sentries of the night with unflinching granite eyes. This place was a marvel; a wonderland of gleaming brass mechanics, driven by the power of immutable fire, churning placid blue into the breath of the water dragon. The air had been filled with a hard smell that burned his eyes and gagged him, but now, the sepia toned light was so natural to him he barely noticed. The stone streets had clattered with the hiss of steam driven wagons, things that had once filled him with confusion and fear; he did not understand the finer points of their operation, but Nicolai had promised to teach him more as their partnership progressed.

Nicolai, the odd little man who had brandished lightning in the face of men who had meant ill to Tsujou, was a strange dichotomy. In one breath, his face was filled with a kindness and compassion that bordered on childlike, while in another he was a force of nature that even the kings seemed to bow to. He had taken the foreigner in without pause, nurtured him and doctored his wounds; he had even given him a name, Tsujou Raikou no Tsurugai, for he could not remember his own. Nicolai had found him lying in a tangle of debris in the bay, half dead, a wound upon his brow so deep that bone shone through. The skin had since closed, but the hair where Tsujou’s head was once opened had grown in gray, a slash of white against the sea of his coal black mane.

Opening his eyes, he reached to his side and tightened the leather strap of his sword belt. The brass blade he carried was heavier than he was used to, but the weapon had weight enough to snap a man’s arm through a shield. With but a flick of his wrist, Nicolai’s lightning would surge forth in a dazzling display, and the heavy blade would cut even the hardened metal of a boiler. He idly fingered the intricate gear design of the guard, wondering absently if his origins had been anything like the strange and wondrous place he now called home. He checked his clothes, a gray and copper colored hakama and haori pair that Nicolai had tailored for him, and found that they sat in perfect comfort against his skin. The metal soled sandals were snug and secure. Even the burnished yoroi plate he wore on his chest was comfortable, emblazoned with the now familiar gear logo. That same toothed wheel adorned the backs of his gauntlets, as well as clasp of his belt, and the leather strap he used to tie back his long hair.

Turning, he marched across the foyer and out the front door, where Toulon and Saunders waited. Tesla’s assistants, it was they who had broached Tsujou with the news of the coming foes. Men from new lands had come, their mouths filled with ill words of his friend, kind Nicolai. They dishonored his name to any who would listen, mocking not only his genius, but his nature. His copper eyes met theirs and they nodded; no words were necessary as he climbed into the steam driven carriage, they were not needed. Enemies had come in search of the kind inventor, but they would first meet Tsujou Raikou no Tsurugai, the Sword of Lightning.

Okay, I'll crank one out. Any more details anyone wants? It'll take me maybe a day or two, already started though.

Gee Jiminy Whillickers, page-stretching at it's finest!

That definitely is an awesome pic though. This also brings up a new point, Steampunk Ninjas.

We have Airship Pirates, so there must be some sort of steampunk equivalent of Ninjas. You can't have pirates without ninjas!
