I have received a few letters from Lone. So, since she said I can post to everyone, I will give you the basics of her boot camp experience.
Lone arrived just fine and was able to get settled in. She has been processed, and gotten all her shots. Both her arms hurt after that from all the shots she was given. She said boot camp is not like the movies. She has only been yelled at once and that was for her bangs, but she has bobby pins for that now. Apparently, even in the Army, men don't listen, so they had extra Physical training. She was able to do her push ups, so that is a good thing.
Lone will be graduating in the end of May, beginning of June. I will gets photos for everyone and posting them. She misses everyone, and says hi to all as well.
As I hear more from her, I will let you guys know.

Lone's graduation is June 4th. And it is in Ft. Leonard, MO. She is not coming home after graduation, but instead, will head to TX for her other training.

I just heard from Lone again. She is still doing great in boot camp. At the time of her letter, she was getting her gas mask. She says her platoon is good and the Drill Sargent's are not that bad. Her unit has been smoked once, but they have 3 more weeks of red phase, so she will see.
She said she is tired and sore, but it feels good, because she is getting in shape. she gets up at 4 am and bed is 9 pm, and it is not bothering her to much. And so far, no one has messed up the beds, so her barracks have not been ripped apart.
Oh, Lone has glasses now!!!!!
Lone wants everyone to have her address, so she can make it through boot camp, so everyone better write to her.
Pvt. Lane, Etta Aco 3/10th INF BN 1st Bulldawgs 495 Iowa Avenue Unit #15 Ft. Leonardwood, MO 65473
the Aco part of her address is a capitol A then a small co, but the co needs to be up in the air instead of down on the line.
Also, on the back of the envelope, right Green-1 in the bottom right corner, so the letter gets to her.
She misses everyone and hopes to hear from us all soon. She would also like pics of everyone to see how we are doing.
Lone should be home for a week or two in November, if anyone wants to see her, and wants to make a visit in Maryland, just let me know.
Again, her graduation is June 4th for anyone who would like to go.

Huh... I thought all people still going though boot camp are addressed as "Rct" for "Recruit," maybe I was wrong about that..
And what's with the "Green-1" on the back of the envelope?

Green-1 It's some kind of building codes. If it is not on the envelope, Lone said it will not get to her, or may take longer.
And Lone was sworn into the Army in February, when she completed her physical. She has been U.S. Government property since then.
Lone's ankle is getting better. She is doing 1 legged pushup's and situps. She is still on profile until her ankle is better.
Lone and the other females in her platoon outlasted the men in the Gas Chambers.
Her spirit is still strong, and she is feeling good about pushing herself in a manner not done before.

I'm glad to hear that lone's doing well ^^
very curious as to what things are like in the US army... as much as I love my home i dont think i could ever join the army... ive never been a fan of war/fighting, but for some reason i could see myself as a sniper or maybe just a good old fashioned Chaplin. thank you for the updates really makes me feel good to know that lone's doing well.

Well, Lone has her gun and she knows how to shot it. She just started a new phase and is moving right along. She passed bunk inspection and in a few days will get a locker inspection. Hopefully all is tidy.
Her spirit is still up there. I have talked with her a few times on the phone.
She has made a few friends, and has impressed the Drill Sargent's. Before we know, she will be here again for a second.

no computers, at least not until they earn the privileges. She only gets phone if the platoon does good, and now that they are in White phase, they get the television during chow time and in the dinning hall, and that's it.
