okay i have never smoked but yestrday i was with my friends at the stock show and we were all smoking do you all think that will mess up how we do in band because it was 4 of us and these are the instruments we play

tuba
tuba
trumbone
trumpet
so do you all think it will hurt our way of playing with the band

You mean you smoked pot? Playing while high may affect your motor skills in terms of fingerings and partials, but I'm not too sure, never having smoked pot myself. I think everyone gets a different kind of high.

If you mean you smoked cigarettes, then that will most likely affect your breath support, and since you're a brass player, pretty much be your downfall.

Quit. Now. It's for your own good. It might not seem like it now, but trust me... I just lost my father a few days ago because he used to always smoke as a kid... Please, don't make the same mistake. Besides the fact that it will hurt you in band, it'll ultimately take your life. Smoking isn't something you should be messing with at this age...

Dude, it doesn't make a difference. You're still a kid. He started when he was 20 and look how he ended up. I'm telling you: you need to quit.

Hey stupid, quit smoking. There's this helpful little thing called breathing. It's good. Smoking kinda hurts your chances of doing it. You need that breathing that thing to survive. You also need it to play an instrument.

Isn't being blunt fun?

i guess im just the exception to all of these rules i have been smoking since my freshman year [senior now] and im in the top 5 players in the state [i play trumpet]

i can smoke all i want and quit when i feel like it.

so yeah my advise would be to quit if you wanted to but its ultimately your decision no matter what anyone here says it up to you on what you do with your life

and that breathing thing again, yeah. you need it. a LOT!!! And if you smoke for a year or two you can still DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it doesn't matter how long you smoke it still affects you health and breathing, which affects your playing!!!!!!!!!!! if you don't listen to this advice these SENSIBLE people are giving you then you a F********* IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! 'nuff said.

Aren't you the one going out for the army band?
Yeah.. you should definitely quit smoking
My caption head works with or for or runs or writes for or something of the sort for the army bad
And he was talking to us about smoking and how it's complete hell trying to run your miles and play and whatnot
Plus its just better for your overall health

Good luck by the way
^.^

ok idiots,
smoking is bad, it kills people.
it sux
5 reasons to quit
-you'll smell horrid
- health
-family
-dignity(it seems cool now, won't be later)
-its just bad, no one likes to be around high people

soo, quit both until further notice (health safe smoking)(tuba skills come back)
