a betta would be quite happy in a 5gal, you could get one of the giant bettas if you can find any for sale if your looking to something bigger than a normal betta. my friend has a half giant in a 5gal and he is the greediest thing also a snail would be happy in there

Whatever you do, probably best to keep it a species tank. How about a dwarf gouramis or German rams?

I have found that Zebra Daniels work great in small tanks they are easy to care for and they dont breed easy so no need to work about that

Happy Skittles Lizzy danios need lots of space though cuz they are very swimmy a 5 gallon would be too small that depend on size, and type, i had 3 in a 5 galleon and they were fine, but i agree, however neon tetras would work alos , they are colorful and easy to maintain also.

depends on the size of what? the fish? not really. little fish can be more active than big fish sometimes
danios are big swimmers and if they cant swim around they sort of sulk tetras are pretty chill fish but like to be kept in large groups and 6 in a 5 gallon would be a bit much

neons do group but normaly in small schools they dont go around much , i have about 4 in my 40 and they dont swim around much, and i agree with the fact that the daniels do swim around, however there is a breed that do not get large, i think it might be the leopard daniels, but im unsure, and they fit nicely in a 5 gal, regular daniels swim around much and they can get farely large if they are not attacked whent hey are small

the size doesnt matter even at 1 inche they swim too much and your tetras may not move too much in such a large tank because there are way too few of them and they are afraid to get eaten even if there is nothing in there to eat them. they are a schooling fish and need to be in groups of at least 6. they should be schooling around
Neon Tetras should be kept in a school with at least 6 Neons and 10 is better
one of the many sources that will tell you this

one of the many sources that will tell you this maybe i had a special set of daniels with a special personality idk, but they didnt swim much in the 5 and not much when put into the 10 and wow the teetras are you sure , well maybe thats why i dont listen to the ppl at petsmart anymore, lol well then ive noticed with my few tetras that they break away from eeach other and they have formed schools with the other big fish, idk how they are doing this, as i have fin biters in my tank so yeh....

i have been keeping fish forever, so i know things too, however i dont do alot of research because i never really needed to, and yeh ive only met one person who knew what she was talking about..... I argree with the fact that the daniels swim alot but they addapt to the tank they are in, like many other fish do.

they actually dont the "adapt" by sulking...and how they say fish grow to their tank? thats a lie too...they get their growth stunted because the water quality is terrible and you MUST do research if you are keeping fish you cant be research less sweatdrop
