Kokuro stood before a small creek and listened as the water rushed by. It was a beautiful sound, relaxing and calm, so inviting that Kokuro took a step forward and placed one of his feet in the cool water. He arched his neck gracefully and bent down to have a drink, daintily sipping, while keeping an ear and eye open to his surroundings. It was a calm, sunny day, and Kokuro was simply wandering across Hal'ia, learning the land and both telling and hearing grand stories. It had been a while since he had the company of another being, other than his companions, and began to wonder what that day would bring...

A great tanned painter waded her way through the elbow-high creek water, enjoying the warm day. Florica and her companion, Besnik, decided to take a short break on their travels and relax by the creek. Besnik was leaping from branch to branch as he kept up with his much larger companion. Soon the pair came around a short bend and Florica saw another figure in the distance. She slowed her pace a bit and continued forward in curiosity.

Kokuro lifted his head and twitched his ears as they caught the sound of unusual splashing from down the creek. It was much bigger than a fish, and curiously, Kokuro turned his head to he could stare in the direction of the sound, trying to see what this new presence was. A scratchy voice sounded from behind him, but Kokuro didn't even twitch a muscle at the sudden appearance of his Ent companion. He just turned an ear in her direction to acknowledge her presence. The voice rasped to Kokuro, "It would seem your path has crossed with yet another Painter, Kokuro. I can sense her, it is a female..." At this point, Kokuro could already see clearly the form of the other down the creek, but he replied politely to his Ent, "Thank you Grandmother...." before blinking and turning his head back down and looking into the water. He did not want to alarm the new Painter by staring at her, it was unsightly to stare!

"Besnik."

"Yeah, yeah."

Automatically, the mimicgryph spread his wings and glided a bit ahead to get a sneak peek at the other being ahead of Florica. Besnik glided close enough to get a clear view then swung his body around and headed back to Florica. He gently landed on her shoulder as she slowly continued forward.

"He's a chi'lin indeed. He also looks fairly harmless."

Florica nodded and smiled and continued her progress until she was close enough she could see minor details of the chi'lin. She paused and let her head slowly descend to the surface of the water to get a drink from the creek. Florica raised her head to look at the chi'lin while her tail moved back and forth slowly.

"Hello. My name is Florica."

Florica moved slightly closer and gave a warm smile. Besnik continued to be perched on her shoulder and look over the chi'lin and around to see if he had any familiars.

Kokuro lifted his head from the water as the other Painter approached and smiled softly. He then bent his front legs smoothly and swung his head down in a graceful bow before replying to the female's introduction, "Good afternoon, I am Kokuro Nagi. It is a pleasure to meet you Florica. Feel free to call me Kokuro, for short, if you are a friend..." Kokuro noticed the female's mimicgryph look around as though searching for something and guessed immediately what it might be. He tilted his head to the sky and whistled shrilly.

The sound was actually not unpleasant, it sounded a lot like wind when it passed through a narrow reed bed, it was a sort of sweet sound, for all it was rather loud. Within a couple seconds, a faint flapping sound could be heard in the distance as a very large owl came into eyesight. With a deafening screech, the owl landed on it's favorite spot, on Kokuro's horn, and blinked at Besnik. He then did a sort of, bird bow, and through a mental connection the owl introduced himself to Florica and Besnik, Good afternoon. My master calls me Nocturo. If my master approves of you, than do I... Kokuro snorted and stamped his foot, jostling his head slightly, and Nocturo with it. "Enough of that Nocturo, I have told you many times that I am NOT your master..." Nocturo hooted blandly and replied, As you wish... Master Nagi....
