Happy Skittles Lizzy
i guess i'm just ALWAYS wanting to save every baby and i get tired XD i cant leave the little guys in there to get eaten or sucked into the filter cuz thats how i am
hard work for me since there are always ALOT of babies
and my last guppy had some kind of weird still birth D: was a little upsetting cuz i never saw that before
they babies came out still in some kind of egg shell...didnt move or anything so i dumped em back into the tank...the betta ate them Breeding guppies is quite some work indeed.
You could get yourself a second, smaller breeding tank. The fry is more likely to survive in there, and because the mom isn't bothered she'll have less stress and the birthing will go over smoother with less fatalities.
I used to wrap a piece of pantyhose around the nuzzle of the filter. Just pull it tight till the holes in the mesh are large enough to let minor dirt through but still too small to suck up the fry.
You'll need to clean the filter and tnk more often, but since it's necesary to do that for the fry's health anyway it's no problem.
The only time I had the stillborn problem was when inbreeding had been occuring. Since then I started culling my fish and being more selective in which fish I kept.
But be happy, your betta had a nice and healthy meal ^^
