How many of you mark time on the podium while conducting?
Or how many of you know if your drum majors mark time...same question.

Well, I am not a drum major, so I don't know personally. But none of my three drum majors mark time. They might fall off their ladders...

When we went to state I think only our drum major marked time. In the Sioux Falls competition I think only ours marked time too...
But at state we have saftey bars on the podium and at practice we have a tiny podium with no bars...

Odd. Are your drum majors taught to mark time, or do they just naturally do that?
At the last state competition I went to, I think I did see some drum majors mark time. One had to mark time, because his school had so few people that he was forced to march in the show himself, as the only trombone player.
So I don't know if that counts.

Wow, I didn't know they could do that, that'd be awesome to see! I'm not quite sure. For the past 3 years our drum majors both have. We only had 2 in the past 3 years, different times...This year we are going to have 3 i believe, idk if they are going to mark time or not =/

I've seen that done before... I think it looks kind of funny and peculiar. Though, I'd imagine it would have to be somewhat hard.
