Welcome to The Organization.

As said. We are the organization. We hunt vampires, werewolves, the like. We have an array of weapons and resources at our disposal for killing the dastardly fiends. Our members are mostly human... What you see above is Castle Obsidian, our organization's home. Those who come there have either come to join us, or they wish to die.

Why is it we hate vampires and werewolves? Are we merciless evil primitive barbarians? Of course not. We are the elite! Our organization holds many great minds, and our members are cultured and sophisticated individuals. We hunt the vampires in defense of humanity. They are blood-sucking monsters that kill humans, or they turn them into their own. Werewolves are an infectious disease that must be extuinguished if humanity is to survive. Of course, we also allow some of their number into the organization under rare circumstances...

The children of the night

Indeed, that is what they are called. Cultured, sophisticated individuals for whom the sunlight is lethal, as is holy water. They drink the blood of their victims, and hold amost free reign over the night... Unless a member of the Organization is in the area...

Vampires are natural enemies of werewolves. They engage in battles with these lupine creatures frequently. This makes the job of the Organization somewhat easier.

Vampires may argue that they do not wish to harm humans. This is a lie (to the Organization.) In order to live, they inflict wounds upon humans EVERY NIGHT! The only vampires that the Organization will believe are their informants, or the members that have been inflicted with vampirism.

Vampires have known weaknesses as follows:
Object through the heart- Lethal (Of course, what wouldn't die from that?!)
Holy Water- Deadly (Burns like acid. Enough can kill a vampire)
Sunlight - Lethal (Vampires are wary to leave a covered area even with full cloud cover.)
Garlic - Deterrant (Unknown reasons. it works, however)

The pack

Werewolves are deemed the most dangerous of enemies for the Organization. At day, they are indetectable, they may not be aware of their actions, or worse, they may be aware, and can hide it better.

Werewolves are the rusult of Lycanthropy, a disease with no cure known other than silver. There are many types, but the organization has separated them into three groups:

1. Lesser werewolves - Infectious bite. Afflicted most likely bitten by a werewolf. cannot be held accountable for actions. Transform only at night.

2. Greater werewolves - Infectious bite. Afflicted most likely born from afflicted parent. full control when transformed. Transforms only at night.

3. Perfect werewolves - Non-infectous bite. Afflicted always born from afflicted parent. Full control when transformed. Transforms at any time they wish. May partially transform.

Werewolves are considered as a disease, however, perfect werewolves are considered another species and a threat. Perfect werewolves often lead packs of greaters and lessers.

Perfect werewolves are considered the most reliable of non-human informants in the Organization.

Werewolves have the following documented weaknesses:
Wolfsbane - Deterrant
Silver - Cure to greater/lessers, dangerous to Perfect.

Armory

The Organization is limited in its weapons, but what we have is highly effective.

Crossbow: An old favorite. Our crossbows are specially made to fire wooden stakes of the purest Carpathian wood, inlaid with silver, forming a cross from a front view. The stake is then soaked in holy water. the result of shooting either werewolf or vampire with this ammo is rather spectacular.

Blessed blade: We have many different bladed weapons, all of whuich have been blessed in the Organization's chapel. The blades are steel for strength, but the blade also has a silver coating for dealing with werewolves. The blessed aspect of these blades are critical for fighting vampires, as normal weaponry is useless.

Handgun: We have many of these, custom-made. The Organization's logo has been imprinted on the handle. These guns fire silver bullets, and are amost useless against vampires.

Sun Cannon: A large metal cannon-like device of mechanical origin, developed by an Organization scientist. It holds a machine that produces false sunlight. It has the same effect as holy water to a vampire, but much faster and more painful. Using this on a werewolf will not revert them to normal. in fact, the sun cannon merely makes them angry.

The Reckoning: A masterpiece of the armory, the Reckoning is awarded only to the higher-ranked in the Organization. It is a blade equipped with a fully automatic gun in the hilt that fires silver ammo. the blade itself carries holy water in the pommel, which can be removed or opened to coat the blade, and the blade itself is a blessed weapon, with silver inlaid into the steel. Truly a weapon that many members covet.

In terms of weaponry for Vampires and Werewolves that aren't in our Organization...

Swords - Favorite for the vampires

Claws/teeth - Werewolves, we hope.

Bite - Transmits Vampirism or Lycanthropy. In all, what we don't want.

Background: The current leader of the Organization Council, he is a famed vampire and werewolf hunter. so much that even the greatest of Vampires cringe when they hear his last name. He's the youngest member on the council, but carries the knowledge of every Hunter in his family.

Background: Luna was born into the organization, at least, on her mothers side. Her father was killed because he abandoned it, trying to start his own pack. Her mother died later on due to a vampire attack. She has grown up alongside people who either hate her for what she is or merely hate what she is and love her, seriously, how could you not? Though she is older than she appears Luna is almost always acting like a teenager, though, a very well behaved one mostly. She enjoys spending time in the Organization library, but also goes outside of the castle to do her job, getting rid of pesky vampires. She loves Marie though, they're very close because of Luna's time in the library.

Background: The Enlighten Pack is the pack of werewolves that are part of the Organization, led by Luna (Veteran Rank) these wolves are all greaters. They come from different backrounds, though Alice and Tasha are twins and Edward and Nathan are brothers. They have all faced trial and been found to be an asset, they are mostly patrols and infiltrates, sneaking into real werewolf packs to be on the inside. The pack accepts all infected members as their own.

Elise was then taken in by her great aunt, who was turned into a vampire a few years later. The great aunt's insatiable hunger for blood turned against her, when Elise stabbed her with a silver stake in the heart.
Now, Elise is on the run from her village authorities, who believe she is guilty of murder. She has heard of the organzation and is in search for them.
Weapons: Has a knack for both light and dark magic, which sometimes ends with disastrous results.
Appearance: Ebony black hair, clear gray eyes and is deathly pale she's roughly 160 cm tall.

Other: Was once a talkative girl, but after the deaths of her mother and great aunt, and the disappearance of her father Elise has become a quiet in nature. She is orderly and utterly despises vampires and werewolves.

He is ranked as #5, and has held his position a very long time.

Other: Moreau is a doctor, and is in charge of the medical wing. His brillianty knowledge has been used to create medicines for afflicted members. His most useful ones are: a pill that supresses vampiric cravings, and an injection for werewolves to prevent transformation. He aqlso is in charge of writing down new afflicted profiles.

Background: A noble of an area of land, he hides his vampiric nature well. his amount of power has made him a Vampire Lord, which he tries to downplay to avoid attention. he is content just to live and keep his land peaceful. He holds monthly blood drives for hospitals, to hide suspicion of his vampirism. Vampires under him (and trusted humans) run these blood drives, and about 80% of the blood actually gets to the hospitals...

Other: He doesn't bite humans, but feeds from blood he's collected. Vampires who visit him call him a coward, to which he retorts that he's not being hunted.

Background: Summer is a full blooded vampire. She was born into her heritage and was not her choice. Summer fights the organization with every thing she has. She believes that all creatures have a right to live and that humans are sometimes food but other times friends.

Background: Being a perfect werewolf, things can get a bit tough for Phoebe. She wishes to avoid working with the Organisation, and hates their existance. She simply beleives them to be racists and beleives that they have no right to call themselves living beings. Phoebe hates them, simply because they hunt down and murder those who are different then they are.

About the area:

Castle obsidian is located on the Shadow Cliffs, overlooking the Iceblade Sea. To get to it, one must first find the Silent Express, a train that stops at the nearby Organization-controlled town of Duskwall. From there, one must travel throught the Whispershade Forest to reach the Blackscar Canyon. from there, you simply cross the bridge, and enter the castle itself. Organization members can then ride the Cobalt Drakes from the castle's stalls to any location they are needed. Drakes are useless in combat, and only serve as airborne mounts.

The continent is called Galera, and has many villages and towns. It is the size of Asia. There are no countries, just lands ruled by rival nobles. some of these nobles are Vampires, others send word to the Organization to hunt vampires or werewolves in the area. The Organization only asks for respect and a little bit of coin in return for their services.

The Silent Express runs between Whispershade Terminal and Duskwall Station. The other trains in the area are:

Trans-Galera : Train that runs across the continent all day. There are four running on the same tracks, so there are four times to catch a train. This train is not run by the Organization, but actually belongs to a vampire lord (Lord Archarus). However it is a public train system, and vampires are not allowed to feed onboard, otherwise the Organization might catch on and shut down the system, which makes a lot of money.

Galera Rail : A train run by the Organization that serves as a transporter for goods such as lumber, food, and other things. Merchants pay a good amount for a spot for their goods on this train, since it delivers its load all around Galera.

Organization History

The Organization has existed for roughly 200 years. As an advanced, elite society that accepts people from other areas, its power is superior to any lord, lady, or self-proclaimed king. However, most of these members are working solo, as vampire/werewolf hunters tend to keep to themselves and don't want to be dragged down or have innocents hurt in conflict.

The Code of the Organization is what many see as proof of the quality of the Organization, and are the rules every member must follow.
1. Self before wealth. (A Hunter works to clean the world, not to make money.)
2. The Innocent should not suffer for the wicked. (Do not punish those who are not responsible.)
3. Suffer not the vile. (If a vampire/werewolf is suspected nearby, you are to investigate, not ignore it.)
4. Protect your allies. (if there are other Hunters in the area, and they are in trouble, help them)

This Code has many rules in it, but the first four are the most important.

The Hunters in the Organization hunt vampires when a 'Job' is given at Castle Obsidian. Whoever claims it first gets the job. Jobs vary in difficulty, and are analyzed by Organization archivists before being posted.

Ranking in the Organization is very important, as ranking determines the kind of Jobs you can take. The rankings are numbered from lowest to highest number. The #1 Hunter is the Council leader, and earns their position through hard work, blood, and sweat.

Promotion in the Organization is divided into two methods, experience and testing. Testing determines a newcomer's rank in the hunters, and is resolved by a series of tests, dealing with tracking, combat, lore, and the Organization's code.

Experience is the only way to be promoted to the ranks of the most famous hunters, as well as the Council of Hunters, the best of the best who lead the Organization.

Demotion is something that all organization members avoid, and is only meted out for very serious circumstances.

2. Betrayal
3. Disobeying the Code of the Organization.

Concerning Drakes

Drakes are large reptilian creatures. Their main diet is fish and plants. To tame a Drake, there are two good methods.

1. Procure a drake egg and hatch it, then raise the Drake. This method is expensive and requires a tame drake.

2. become accepted by a Drake brood as one of their own. Dark magic useful in this method, as it allows communication with the creatures. Once accepted, they will allow the accepted individual to ride them. after a few years, more individuals can, if they ride frequently, tame these creatures.

If method 2 is used, then method 1 can follow, making a Hatchery/Stall system where tame drakes lay eggs, humans raise the young into ridable drakes, and the process repeats. The Organization is the only group of people who have succeeded in making such a system.

Concerning magic

Magic is a weird ability that prfect werewolves and humans can use. Prefect Werewolf magic is more natural in effect and form. Human magic is unnatural and often destructive.

Werewolf magic is focused on water, earth, fire.

Human magic (usable by lesser and greater werewolves) can be Light or Dark.

Light magic is fire, light, electricity, life, and water. Dark is earth, illusion, death, ressurection, and miasma. Wind magic is attributed to neither side, and may be used by the masters of light or dark.

Magic can be considered a weapon, and is usable only by those who dedicate their lives to it. such individuals care not for the Organization, werewolves, or vampires, but they are often forced into action for a side.

Concerning technology

The Organization has electric power in their castle, but most areas don't have the same benefits. The Organization has machinery to produce their guns, and the Sun Cannon can be considered highly advanced, were it not made by magic.

The gun is widespread around the continent, but only the Organization can manufacture the weapon in large amounts.

(1-10 are the councilors, and generally do the hardest work)

#1: Edward Van Helsing

(11-40 are the elite Hunters. They take Jobs that would be considered suicidal. Some remain on base at all times.)

#11: Marie Adel
#12: Obi Skaia

(41-80 Are Veteran hunters. They are experienced members and can take the tougher Jobs)



(81+ are regular hunters They make the majoritiy of the Organization)

(Novice hunters are not on the charts, and only deal with things like stray lesser werewolf curing.)
