My family has not had a washing machine in about a year. It died and we haven't been able to afford one. So finally, one was in at my mom's work that was marked down to like $90. So we bought it and were all excited. Cause yeah, being able to do your own laundry at your own house is something that I didn't realize could be taken for granted, lol. First my dad put off picking it up. Then he put off putting on the drain hose cause he "wasn't sure if it was the right one" so he finally went to put the hose on today after calling the company. And we've had the thing for like three days now. Now my mom left for work before he got home, and she told me how excited she was to finally be able to wash clothes when she came home. (Especially because she pretty much has nothing for work tomorrow.)

So, I get up from my nap, and go to see if there's anything to eat. (Which there's not btw.) And find my dad grumbling about something or other and poking around under the washer. So then he grumbles some more and goes and calls my mother at work to yell at her and tell her the washer she bought was a piece of crap and blahblah it'd cost a bajillion dollars to have someone come fix it, blahblahblahblahblah. So after he hung up the phone and tossed it at the bed, I was like "what's the deal?" and he said something about some part or other not working. It doesn't spin or something. And I was like well we'll get it fixed or take it back, whatever. And as I was leaving, I was like oh "FYI, Mom was really excited about doing laundry tonight cause she has no clothes for work tomorrow. And you just had to call her at work, so now she's freaking out, I bet." And he got all pissed off cause he knew I was right and seriously yelled "Shut up!" at me like I was 12 again. I just kept walking away. Cause seriously. I'm tired of this crap. He does this all the time!

Well I'm off to google our stupid washer. And see what I can do. Fun stuff!

Isn't there some kind of warranty on the washing machine?

And if not maybe you can just afford the part and get someone to put it in for you for free? I know my dad has fixed our washer before.

*Hugs* Good luck.

Well my mom works at Lowes. And this dude bought the washer, right? And it didn't work right so he brought it back and just got another one. Well the people fixed it and put back on the floor, and kept discounting it cause no one was buying it. So my mom finally bought it when it got cheap enough. So it's like, I'm not sure if the warranty is still valid. My parents are going to look into it though. My dad's been trying to fix it. This is seriously like the fifth washer we've had since we lived here. (Cause we had to buy them reconditioned cause we can't afford a new one.) We're on our third refrigerator and our third dryer too. Sometimes I think the house is cursed, LOL.

Wow...I just wish I could have a washer and dryer in my place. I'm lucky enough to have a dishwasher and microwave included in our apartment, but funny thing about laundry...LOL it's like strewn all over my house and when the hubster gets home we are knocking some of it out I swear!
I'm tired of having it shoved in our enormous walk in storage closet!

I can't wait till we actually own our own home!

But yeah, if it's from Lowe's the warranty should be just as good, discounted or not. LOL It would be funny if they could even swap it out, which if it already had problems and has recurring problems then they should do the right thing and just return it to the company.
Could be a manufacturing problem, one out of a million.
Good luck with that!

Yeah I dunno. *scratches head* When you go through like five washers, you kinda start to wonder. We've only lived here since late 2001. And our last washer died last year. LOL.

Weird thing, man, my dad talked to the GE lady finally. And she told him the way to reset the washer cause it runs on a computer. LOL ADVANCED WASHERS. And so he did and now it spins. I was like HELL YEAH! And put laundry in! ROFL. I'm happeh. But I really wish we had known that earlier because I used the washer earlier today, cause I really need clothes cause I'm going away tomorrow. So using the washer this afternoon was the equivalent of hand-washing something. So when the washer was done, I had to wring out my clothing and put it in the dryer. By the time I got to my jeans, my hands were completely red and numb, the water was so coldddd. They still feel really messed up, lol. It was like sticking my hands in ice water for a long time. But yeah. Now my pile of laundry should diminish.

I was kinda amused because when my mom was taking one of the random piles of laundry into my brother's old room to make room in the laundry room so we could put the new washer in and take the old one out she was like, Oh I found one of your shirts. It's one you really like but I don't remember what it says. So I found it and it says "I love anime!" and I was like HAHAH NEAT but I don't remember ever owning this shirt. So ROFL I don't even know where it came from. But whatever. Hahah. xD

You're never invited over to my house. No breaking our washer and dryer! Rawr!

A couple years ago our dryer broke and almost set fire to the house because the idiots at the store we bought it from didn't wire it right. The people from Lowes were shocked to see how ******** up the dryer was.

At least it's kind of working now? Yay?
