It is the chicken.
Because the chicken was created first.
According to Christians/Catholic, god created animals including the chicken.
Then the chicken layed eggs to reproduce more.
This is based on religions. There is actually no correct answer.

I would also say chicken.
If it was the egg, then who created the egg? It would have to be the chicken. Then the chicken reproduces, and makes eggs.

I actually have two possible theories on this, but no one cares about them, or everyone says that they're two shitty theories. ;_;
In no particular order
Theory #1: Chicken came first.
How?: An amoeba mutated into a demonically deformed chicken, and over time it somehow adapted into the chickens we know of today, that also lays eggs.
Theory #2: Egg came first.
How?: Same thing with theory #1. Amoeba mutates into egg, then it either
a)turned out to be a deformed chicken that adapted to what it is today.
or b) kept on mutating to become a dinosaur, and eventually led to some deformed demonic chicken, then to the regular chicken we know of today.
