I'm finding the whole thing rather frustrating and I refuse to spend money on this so I'm making do with daily chance.

I only just put my fish in the aquarium this morning -- and one of the goldfish died immediately. Screw this. I'm certainly not spending any real money on this stupidity.

I'm doing it, but I'm not spending real money on it. My tank's health is only 7.08%, but I'm only using things I can get relatively inexpensively in the Marketplace and stuff from Daily Chance. I think having to spend real money on anything in this game is a crock, not to mention a ripoff. sad
I wish we could walk around our aquariums and invite others to visit, like our houses. Now that would be cool.

Use natural light, moderate temp, and kelp or overseer's song with a mixed arrow/goldfish tank. Apparently it takes a day for most positive changes to register. Goldfish show up free in daily chance fairly regularly and arrowfish show up now and then too. Feed fish at least once a day if not more, as it increases happiness.

I'm doing all that stuff, and my health is at 7.8 today, I think, which is an improvement. The clam is only giving me 30 gold, but I guess I can live with that for a while. But I did get another fountain in Daily Chance today, so now they have two to play with. I hope the 'snow' on the fountains goes away in spring though. Kinda dumb to have snow underwater, especially when the tank temperature is so mild.
I have two sets of Arrow Fish and 4 goldfish (and waiting on two more goldfish from a trade). I heart goldfish! They'd better live a lot longer than 2 weeks though.

Mine's over ten and climbing. I think the multiple feedings and the glass tapping are helping.

I agree. My aquarium has no background, no decorations, and only starter fish. But with frequent feedings and glass-tapping, the overall heath his above 8, and I'm getting 45 gold from the Overseer. Once the fish die, however, I'm planning on trying to sell the aquarium in the marketplace...unless it's still 'locked', whatever that means.

Locked means you can't sell or trade it.
I'm supposed to be getting armour according to the overseer. Where is it?

I've also gotten armor, it should show up in your Tops inventory. One thing I noticed though is that you have to make sure it actually saves when you click the little button. First time I got armor, I ran to my inventory, but couldn't find it. When I went back to the aquarium, the Overseer was open again and granted the same armor a second time. So make sure you stay with the aquarium until it's done saving.
Now here's my question. My aquarium is over 15 right now, but for two days in a row, my Overseer hasn't given me anything at all. Has anyone else found this problem?

You've probably already figured this out, but when a fish dies, it 'drops' a bag of it's belongings. Go to your Inventory and look under the Special tab (I think), where you'll find one or more Goldfish Drops. You can try and sell these in the Marketplace, or click the 'use' button, and the Drop will turn into something for your avatar. I've gotten a gold watch and a gold tiara that way. I really want a Goldfish Scarf, so holding out for that. Good luck!
